I got a kick out of watching the opening intro interviews with all the guys about wrestling in World War 3, just cause when asked who they'd throw out first everyone says "Disco Inferno", even The Giant, 'cept Sting who is obssessed with Ric Flair.

And I was wondering, having not watched the event in awhile, is there anything remotely good in Benoit vs Kensuke Sasaki?

Wasn't that also the PPV where we saw the last of non nWo Black and White Hogan and the return to Red and Yellow?

You moron.

The 1st World War 3, took place in 95. Way before Hogan even turned heel.

Did you forget that in that time frame he dressed entirely in black? A historic match is Sting vs. Hogan in October 95 where Sting wore Red & Yellow and Hogan was wearing all black (like at Halloween Havoc).

Ahhhh I apologize then.

I honestly really didn't watch WCW when Hogan came in and started squashing every single main event heel there was.

Even as a kid it didn't appeal to me. I was more into Heel Shawn Michaels at the time.

You're lucky you WEREN'T watching at this time. The Dungeon of Doom was sucking ass for months, with The Taskmasters (Kevin Sullivan) quest to get rid of Hulk Hogan, which lead to the EIGHT on two match at Uncensored 96 where HOGAN & SAVAGE SQUASHED ALL EIGHT MEN...with the help of The Booty Man and some frying pans.

Oooh I still watched it but not as much. I was always more into the WWF.

I remember the Dugeon of Doom, and I remember Konnan when he was wearing that goofy looking mask, and Lex Luger as a tweener.

And of course THE RENAGADE~!

Yes, this was when Hogan stopped wearing the black and went back to the red and yellow. If you didn't watch WCW all the time, don't try to answer questions about it, please.

OK how about if I explain to those who don't know.

In the summer/fall of 95, Hogan began feuding with the Dungeon of Doom (led by Kevin Sulivan renamed Taskmaster, which all started during slamboree 95 when after kev beat brutus beefcake, a strange voice was heard bellowing for him, this led to skits featuring kev and his "father" the master, an old guy who looked like he had oatmeal on his face), which featured such luminaries as Kamala,Zodiac (beefcake), the shark (john tenta getting another bad gimmick) and evetually the giant

after giant debuted (by walking up to hogan during an interview and handing him a shirt that supposedly belonged to Andre The Giant.) he was supposedly the son of Andre. He attacked Hogan in the masters lair, only to be saved by the newly face vader. Hogan was to team with vader, sting, and savage to face the dungeon at fall brawl in war games. But vader got fired and lex luger returned to wcw and got put in vaders place, despite hogan not trusting him. Hogan started wearing all black around this point after getting attacked by the DOD and having his mustache shaved off by them. He was basically showing his sadness by wearing the black and how also how serious he was. Sting and Hogan continued to have probs and had a match on nitro. Hogan lost the wcw title to giant by dq at havoc 95 (due to jimmy hart turning on hogan and causing him to get dqd which allowed the title to change hands, due to hart sneeking in a clause in the contract(this match happened the same night as the monser truck battle between the two which hogan won and then pushed giant off the roof-yet he returned later on alive and well)

WCW management (on air) didnt agree with this change, so they vacated the belt and put it up for grabs at this first ww 3. Hogan denounced his black clothing and went back to red and yellow, but still lost when giant pulled him out under the ropes, but the refs didnt see it and thought hogan was eliminated. Randy Savage ended up winning the match and title. (Becoming the 4th man in history to hold both the WWF and NWA/WCW world titles)

funny how months later hogan turned heel and went back to the black

Hulk and Friends came out and, with a barrel, burned Hogan's "black" costume (not the nWo costume, obviously...it was the "darkside" that Hogan went to in order to deal with the evil Dungeon/Giant...), and also burned a copy of the Observer.

Hogan said that the "dirt sheet" said that The Giant would win the battle royal and that Randy Savage was legitimately injured with a biceps injury. Hogan had Savage take off his bandage to "show he was faking the injury" all along. Of course, this was a lie, and Savage's arm really WAS messed up...

Giant probably was scheduled to win.

Idiots. All of them.
