Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted August 20, 2004 at first I saw the Dudley's interfering with Spike's matches angle as yet again another age old angle of the Dudley boys vs little spike dudley. a Angle that is what 8 or so years old? But seeing the change that Spike actually turning bad with the Dudleys is something im loving to see. Its a great fresh angle changeup and im glad they did it for his career. Golgo 13 0 Report post Posted August 20, 2004 The jury is still out on whether Spike is credible, when it comes to being a heel or being a champion. I'm enjoying it, though, and it is a change of pace from the typical Dudleys story.
Eclipse 0 Report post Posted August 20, 2004 So far, I like his turn. Why? Well, as we just saw on Smackdown... I love the fact that Spike now has the testicular fortitude to step up to the bigger stars, like Cena, and talk smack! Just as Cena was about to crush Spike, in come his brothers, basically listening to EVERY command he has. I love it!
tekcop 0 Report post Posted August 20, 2004 I don't feel guilty at all for loving Spike's heel turn.
Guest news_gimmick Report post Posted August 20, 2004 I have been very entertained by the turn, simply because of the way the Dudley's have acted like zombies to his every command (only after abusing him for what, 8 years now?) But it is a new twist on their character and it is working. D-Von and Bubba have been so stale that them doing nothing more than Spike's commands is the best way to use them, at least in my opinion. I can see them developing into a nice little faction, although I can't see Spike winning anything higher then the Light Heavyweight title. Heh, it's just funny seeing Spike's scrawny ass walking around like he's a big shot now after getting used to seeing him get destroyed week after week. I hope the angle continues for awhile and goes well.
Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted August 20, 2004 keep in mind that Spike Dudley's style is not Cruiserweight, he trained and wrestled men whom were always 100 + pounds heavier so you can tell the differences in wrestling styles. Spike can walk around like top shit because he does have an intense pair of bulldogs to chew anyone up. its unique that he is somehow calling the shots on them after everything else seem to happen between him and the more abusive larger brothers. CanadianChick 0 Report post Posted August 20, 2004 All I want to know is why Bubba and D-Von are willing to be Spike's, to be quite blunt, bitches. Maybe we'll get some sort of idea on that. But I do like this cocky Spike. Nice change.
Guest news_gimmick Report post Posted August 20, 2004 Oh yah I have no doubt he can work well with larger opponents, and for me it works because you just know one of these times someone will beat the living hell out of him, but for now the Dudleys work the part of his enforcers well. What helps this even more is Spikes poor physique, I think high school kids have more impressive bodies then him. What this angle might do is elevate the Lightheavyweight title and make it important when someone win's it off him. Heh, when is the last time that title has meant anything anyway? Um, he doesn't have the Light Heavyweight title... Anyway I like the whole deal as well, still think he needs to put on a shirt though.
Kapoutman 0 Report post Posted August 20, 2004 Yeah, it seems like they are working very hard not to make him look like an underdog anymore. I think they are getting actually quite successful with it, since Spike now has the gut to step up to bigger stars. Of course, i am not saying he should be winning cleanly against them, but just seeing him having the gut to do it makes it different.
Golgo 13 0 Report post Posted August 20, 2004 Oh, Spike is still an underdog. His ass is kicked all the time. He would be beaten every match and wouldn't have the title were it not for D-Von and Bubba protecting him. He's the cocky, scrawny classmate or neighbordood kid who thought he was hot shit and would be a dick because he had bigger friends/brothers to protect him. That should really be the focus, not Spike bossing D-Von and Bubba around, and them being content with it, because that aspect just doesn't make sense. He is still an underdog, but what I meant is that he doesn't act like he is one. You're right, they should focus on the "Na na my brothers will kick your ass" part of the gimmick. nl5xsk1 0 Report post Posted August 20, 2004 As little as I'd like to see the Dudley's win the tag titles again, it'd be kind of neat to see them pull the Freebirds routine of any of the three can defend the belts, and so their opposition would never know which two of the three to prepare for. And, like CanadianChick said, it'd be nice to find out why the bigger Dudley's are letting Spike be the alpha of the pack.

That would give him big-time heel heat, as who doesn't hate the kid who cocks off to you, and you'd punch the fuck out if not for his older brothers who would kick your ass? Maybe Dudley Dudley told them to do so? unfortunately they would have to channel the spirit of poor Dead ol Big Dick Dudley the ECW Mastadon... but there is Dudley Dudley.... and um Lil Snot Dudley.... And ummm Dances with Dudley... and Chubby Dudley.
Guest netslob Report post Posted August 20, 2004 i'm liking this angle too. i like how their making Spike into a obnoxious little shit , ala Owen Hart's turn on Bret in '93. good to see Spike can do more then play the "puny underdog who can beat big guys in flukes". my prediction: Bubba and D-Von are just playing Spike, having alienate all his friends and allies, and their gonna turn on him and cost him the title, and no one will come to his defense, leaving him a locker room pariah.
