Sass 0 Report post Posted August 24, 2004 Well, if this were a brawl or something, it'd come down to Me vs. Sass, and that'd be an explosion of blood. Would it be like that movie where that dude's head explodes?

Good stuff with the guy's head exploding like a pumkin filled with a firework. I can probably hold my own with a horror buff such as yourself since I grew up on the crappy censored movies USA use to play at nights. Friday the 13th marathons were of teh ownage back in the day. Hellraiser got so lame.
Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted August 24, 2004 Ah USA back in the day. Where you could always count on a cheesy horror flick or B-level 80's comedy to be playing at 2am. Speaking of that dearly departed era, I managed to score Chopping Mall (a mainstay on USA late night) on DVD for $10 at Best Buy this week. And Maniac Cop on DVD for $5.99. I've seen most of the Scanners. I think the only one I didn't see was when they turned it into an action series with "Scanner Cop".
Sass 0 Report post Posted August 24, 2004 Is Chopping Mall the movie where the kids stay the night in a mall but there is some crazy robot(s) after them? I don't think I've seen Maniac Cop unless the ending has the guy laughing while playing with his gun and putting it near his head and blowing his brains out (accidentally?). Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted August 24, 2004 You hit Chopping Mall right on the nose, Sass. I know myself and Evenflow have long awaited the DVD release of that movie. That's not Maniac Cop, but if I'm not mistaken, you've described one of the Psycho Cop movies, one of which was about a lunatic cop shooting out bad quips and puns while stalking Z-grade soft porn actresses in a skyscraper. Sass 0 Report post Posted August 24, 2004 You hit Chopping Mall right on the nose, Sass. I know myself and Evenflow have long awaited the DVD release of that movie. I'm *so* renting that this weekend. Awesome. That's not Maniac Cop, but if I'm not mistaken, you've described one of the Psycho Cop movies, one of which was about a lunatic cop shooting out bad quips and puns while stalking Z-grade soft porn actresses in a skyscraper. Bingo. The ending was funny to me. I wasn't sure what the movie was going for at the end with the guy waving his gun around and laughing but when the gun went off and blew his brains out I couldn't help myself. It was just such a kooky ending to me after the tone of the movie had been sadistically dark for most of the flick.
KingPK 0 Report post Posted August 24, 2004 If this has turned into a battle of bad horror movies, then I'm just going to have to tap out right now. Besides, in a mod war, I'd just forge an alliance with Sass and let him do all the heavy lifting while I stand in the background making witty observations and puns. Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted August 24, 2004 I've never seen the orginal Pyscho Cop, just the second one (the one I described). Apparently the first one ranks up there as one of the lamer horror outings of the 80's, which means I need to find it ASAP, heh. Never saw any of the Maniac Cops? They were staples of late night cable for the longest time. Bruce Campbell was in the first one, and briefly in the second. The third one had Robert Davi in the lead role. That was an awesome scene. Like when he tossed the guy through about ten walls and windows. It got kinda odd seeing him go tweener in 2 and 3 though. Plus, 3 ended with him awakening, so I'm waiting for my fourth one, dammit.

I love how Sass said that all nonchalantly, just like how he'd tell someone they make a great Chicken Parm or something. Ah, the joys of twisting words on the internet.
