Guest Edwin MacPhisto Report post Posted July 30, 2003 Nick Cave, "As I Sat Sadly By Her Side." Amazing intro to what's shaping up to be a very good album, 2001's No More Shall We Part. Seems to have taken the slightly mellowed out songwriting of Boatman's Call and really gotten the Bad Seeds into it. This track in particular has an awesome piano sequence driving it, and calls out to be used as a soundtrack piece somewhere.

Guest Incandenza Report post Posted August 1, 2003 I'm not listening to anything at the moment, but I can't get XTC's "The Mayor of Simpleton" out of my head. Nice bassline, but it's no 'Crowded Room'.... I saw the video for it the night previous, and it's been lodged in my head ever since. "The Mayor of Simpleton" is catchy little song (though the lyrics are pure velveeta), but I'd like it to leave my brain at some point. It's still in there. Please be upstanding for the Mayor of Simpleton....

I know you infamously don't like Go 2 *quite* as much as I do, but I'm just curious as to how you compare it to English Settlement and Oranges and Lemons, because I pretty much fucking hate both. And I haven't been impressed by what I've heard off The Big Express either. Go 2 is the PARTY ALBUM~! Oh yeah, topic. Roots Manuva - 'Run come save me'. He's one of the best hip-hop artists in the world, IMO. Anyone heard his stuff in the US?
