JoeDirt Posted September 2, 2004 Report Posted September 2, 2004 Remember that shit? After pay per view matches people would be on the Superstar Line to talk about their matches. Was it 1-900, I'm assuming? Did anyone ever call it?
Guest The Decadent Slacker Posted September 2, 2004 Report Posted September 2, 2004 I never did. Was tempted heavily though. Damn Okerlund made me care. Any clue what those numbers are now? I'm curious.
GreatWhiteNope Posted September 2, 2004 Report Posted September 2, 2004 Was it 1-900, I'm assuming? 1-900-737-4WWF
Guest T®ITEC Posted September 2, 2004 Report Posted September 2, 2004 The WCW Hotline was at, of course, 1-900-909-9900. I will carry that little piece of information To. The. GRAVE.
GreatWhiteNope Posted September 2, 2004 Report Posted September 2, 2004 On the same note - did anyone here ever get a WWF birthday greeting? Around 1993 you could make arrangements for a WWF Superstar to call someone you knew and sing a personalized version of "Happy Birthday". I never got one - but I'd die to have a recording of Undertaker singing.
Lil' Bitch Posted September 3, 2004 Report Posted September 3, 2004 Damn Okerlund made me care. Here here!
cawthon777 Posted September 3, 2004 Report Posted September 3, 2004 I called once in 1995. I had moved and didn't have cable for about 2 weeks (which was the equivalent of the sky falling) so I had to call to figure out what was going on. This was immediately after the October In Your House so I had no clue what was going on with Shawn, the IC title, plans for Survivor Series, etc. I remember Jim Ross putting over Avatar in his Raw debut. That's about it. I also selected the trivia option, where you could win a WWF prize pack for answering a few questions. "How many 6-man tag team matches took place at Summer Slam 89?" That was the quality of the questions. I won a WWF hat and some other items I apparently can't remember.
JHawk Posted September 4, 2004 Report Posted September 4, 2004 I called once or twice for PPV results before I got the internet, but that was about the extent of it.
Guest Ray_Rougeau Posted September 4, 2004 Report Posted September 4, 2004 We won't even get into what I did. I used to call on a regular basis. Little did I know how much I was ringing up my parents phone bill. Then, figuring I wouldn't get busted (DUH) I went to my friends house and used their phone to call the superstar line. Needless to say, I was never allowed alone in that house again.
The Czech Republic Posted September 7, 2004 Report Posted September 7, 2004 My Superstar Line story is that I won some prizes on the trivia game. When they asked who and where to send it to, I said my name was "Vince McMahon." They sent them to "Liz Mamann."
Papacita Posted September 9, 2004 Report Posted September 9, 2004 Around 1993 you could make arrangements for a WWF Superstar to call someone you knew and sing a personalized version of "Happy Birthday". I never got one - but I'd die to have a recording of Undertaker singing. I remember one episode of Raw where Lawler got one for Helen Hart with Taker singing it. It was funny as hell. As for the hotline, I called it a few times back in the day just to hear PPV results and post-match interviews.
smh810 Posted September 18, 2004 Report Posted September 18, 2004 One of my friends ran up a $300 phone bill on the WWF superstar line and he was subsequently banned from watching the show for 6 months
