Corny Parody Movies

Guest HeyMcFly

Hey all. Since I just watched "UHF" the other day, I figured I would start a thread asking you all how many and which are your favorites, of movies that have no sort of plot (or a thin plot) and are just all about the nonsense and corniness, basically just for jokes. "UHF" and "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" are my favorites in this genre. I have yet to see it, but I've heard that "Napoleon Dynamite" is in the same genre as well.

Which are your favorites and which parts of those movies (or which jokes) do you like the most?

Flipping through the channels last year, there was a 20 minute "movie" on HBO called something like Pearlmageddon 2, and it combined the shitty plots from Pearl Harbor and Armageddon. We ended up Tivoing it and watching it and it was pretty funny...just really short.

I always thought it was James Bond.

You need to watch some old Dean Martin spy movies. All he does the whole movie is drink and hit on women.

well, life imitates art.

Not Another Teen Movie [just so hilarious!]

Scary Movie 1 and 3. 2 just....sucked.

2 was alright, but SC3 was just about the biggest piece of shit I've ever seen. Correction: the biggest piece of shit.

For a Sr. Advanced English project me and my partner for the project made a movie called The Good, The Bad, and The Iliad that was really corny.

Airplane!

The Pink Panther Movies

Young Frankenstein

This Is Spinal Tap

Dr. Strangelove

Spaceballs

Austin Powers WAS once upon a time a parody of the spy genre...but the Bond movies were never all that serious to begin with. They reveled in cliches like a pig in slop. Casino Royale was a movie based on a Bond novel that was a straight-up parody. I've heard it isn't too good, but it's got Peter Sellers...

This same topic came up on another MB I frequent.

Other peeps suggestions:

Kentucky Fried Movie

History of the World Pt. 1

Hardware Wars

Arachnophobia and Starship Troopers both seem to be parodies but aren't really blatant. It's hard to describe...however, try not to think of them as serious and they're hilarious.

Lost Skeleton of Cadavra is a great spoof/tribute of those crappy 50's sci fi movies. It's fairly new and came out on DVD.
