alfdogg Posted September 10, 2004 Report Posted September 10, 2004 This is a snip from one of the trackson Shaq's new record (no, I don't own it.) "Even with wings you never as fly as me ... you remind me of Kobe Bryant trying to be as high as me ... but you can't ... even if you get me traded ... wherever I'm at, I'm Puffy; you Mase and you're still hated." Discuss.
the max Posted September 10, 2004 Report Posted September 10, 2004 I'd say that he's understandably pissed.
Guest Vitamin X Posted September 10, 2004 Report Posted September 10, 2004 I always thought Mase was more talented than Puffy and less overhyped as well, so yeah Shaq's pretty accurate there.
kkktookmybabyaway Posted September 10, 2004 Report Posted September 10, 2004 I heard the sone on the Tony Bruno show the other day -- he also called Ben Wallace "Spider Web Head" or something like that. I know I got skillz man, I know I got skillz -- knick knack Shaq attack give a dog a bone...
Guest Redhawk Posted September 10, 2004 Report Posted September 10, 2004 "...like dookie-diarrhea comin' out cha BUTT...." Shaq actually said that in a song once. But what will Kobe's comeback be? Cause you know he raps too... "I'm the K.O.B.E. / You can't see me / I'll dunk on your head / then rape your wifey / My skills make me great / You're just overweight / I'm winning MVP while you make the Lottery."
kkktookmybabyaway Posted September 10, 2004 Report Posted September 10, 2004 No shit *pun intended* -- our posts were from the same album...
Dangerous A Posted September 10, 2004 Report Posted September 10, 2004 Someone needs to keep basketball ball players out of the recording studio. Not a one of them can flow. At all. Sad thing is as bad a rapper as Shaq is, Kobe is even worse. I've heard 2 songs from his failed album and it's arguably the worse hip hop I've heard in about 10 years. Flowing in Italian a good album does not make, as Yoda would say.
Brett Favre Posted September 10, 2004 Report Posted September 10, 2004 Kobe should just use the rap they used for him on a Sprite commercial, and I still remember it: Kobe Bryant/slam dunk giant/Outplay the Kob?/Son don't try it! I still remember the Tim Duncan one too. Tim Duncan/He ain't frontin'/Drives the rock/And he'll show you somethin' Oh, and Shaq stinks.
2GOLD Posted September 10, 2004 Report Posted September 10, 2004 Maybe Shaq should force more on being able to keep his lazy self playing an entire season than writing "rap". Shaq makes Randy Savage sound like Dr. Dre.

So THOSE are the exact words! I've been saying that for years when Kobe does something amazing (like the 3 pointer into OT in Game 2, or when he generally just absolutely schools someone). Though I botched it terribly: Ko-be! Bry-ant! Try to catch this son, DON'T TRY IT! Because you know, he's like quick and stuff...
Guest Smues Posted September 10, 2004 Report Posted September 10, 2004 I've heard Shaq's albums have actually sold pretty well. I have the first one, dear god is that a fun train wreck to listen to. I like the lines listed above, but personally my favorite on the album was when he screamed like Michael Jackson. "I can kick it like EEEEE-EEEEE then I grab my crotch." Didn't Kobe make an album but it was so bad the studio wouldn't release it?
Dangerous A Posted September 10, 2004 Report Posted September 10, 2004 Didn't Kobe make an album but it was so bad the studio wouldn't release it? Correct. He actually performed some songs off of it during one of the All Star breaks and even then, when the stage is for people to kiss the asses of the All Stars, people couldn't stomach the songs. It was awful. I believe that Kobe met his wife at his music video shoot or something for his album. Whatever. She'll be his ex wife in 2-3 years tops.

I have the first one, dear god is that a fun train wreck to listen to. I'll defend that first album -- you could tell he was just having fun with it and more power to him. It's not a classic or anything, but it's a fun, campy album that you have to be in the mood to listen to -- although I'm still trying to figure out what the hell "I can get busy like Gomer Pyle" is supposed to mean. Now that second one on the other hand. Ugh...

Did they play one of them on a Sprite commercial he was in right around the time the 2003 playoffs started?
