MLB Game Chatter Thread

It should be noted here that the fan that got hit with the chair was a female fan located behind the fans arguing with the Rangers' bullpen. As far as I could tell from the video, she was not actively harassing the players.

And as bravesfan stated, Francisco was arrested, and indications are he will be charged with aggregated battery. I think the US Court System will do more with this case than MLB needs to.

Too many games tonight. I've been trying to watch the Red Sox/Devil Rays, Yankees/Royals, Astros/Cardinals, and Cubs/Pirates at the same time.

Nothing of note really happening in any of them. TB leading 2-0 thanks to 2 Home runs off Pedro, Royals and Yankees both can't do dick tonight, Astros/Cardinals was 1-1 last I checked, and Pirates lead Cubs 2-0;.

The security WAS there, but there are 20 Ranger players trying to either restrain their teammates, or attempting to attack the fan, so I don't know if I'd put the blame on security.

I would. Where was secruity when tempers were starting to flare. Secruity should've been between them and others should've been heading for the area when it was obvious things were getting out of control. Like I said I saw one maybe two secruity guards and the one was in the middle of the Rangers players meaning he was slow to get there as well. There should've been a wall of secruity guys between them.

I think Greinke got on the umpires bad side, by walking to the dug-out thinking he struck out Bernie Williams...and kept going until he finally saw Bernie pass him on his way to first (walked). The Royals pitching coach quickly ran onto the mound to prevent Greinke from getting a lecturing.

Well, after tonight's game, you heard it here first: the Red Sox are going to miss the '04 playoffs.

Any team can have an off night. It's just amazing the day I started all my Red Sox in Fantasy Playoffs they can't hit worth a shit.

They got shut out Sunday against the Mariners too. That's 18 straight scoreless innings against two of the worst teams in baseball. They made that 12 year old pitching for Tampa Bay look like Cy Young.

Losing 5-0 to Scott Kazmir is a step up from losing 17-8 to Brian Anderson. The Sox are still 4 games ahead in the wild card race.

The Chicago/Minnesota game was looking like a pitchers' duel, but the Twins exploded for nine runs. My fantasy team is liking this.

Bellhorn strikes out for a fourth time today. FOUR TIMES! Is that something to be ashamed of or what?

I didn't get the Red Sox game tonight on MLB Extra Innings, but I'm sure it was just an off-night with the HUGE series against the Yanks coming up. They'll be fine. You don't say that a team with a 4 game lead on a playoff spot isn't going to make the fucking playoffs.

Oh, and Joe G, congratulations:

Just so people have the actual odd numbers and not percentages:

StL 4:1

Bos 4:1

Atl 6:1

LA 10:1

Oak 13:1

NY 13:1

Min 25:1

SF 25:1

My heart tells me St. Louis vs. New York is the World Series, but my brain isn't agreeing with New York, but doesn't have an AL pick at all.

I have a bad feeling that the Cardinals won't make it from the national league. They SHOULD, but with the lame way the playoffs operate anymore having the best team doesn't seem to mean a whole lot.

Watch it be the Dodgers or something lame like that.

I'd rather see the Dodgers than the Cardinals. And besides, St. Louis just won't win the National League. And I'm even LESS certain about New York winning the AL.

Why does Atlanta have 6:1 odds? They've only won 1 W.S. during this streak, and haven't made one since 1999.

I honestly think it's a toss-up who makes the World Series. Every team has flaws, and it's anyones game.

Because what a tead did 5-10 years ago has surprisingly little bearing on what happens this year.
