I'm definitely psyched :D.

Time has flown by, since it seems like just yesterday or so, I was going 'Why the hell did they have to leave huge cliffhangers now we have to wait like forever'...and now forever is here. Season looks to be a great one, and Clark seems to be coming more into 'Superman' which is a little odd...with the flying and all.

Still wish they would move to a different channel or something. The 'Production Qualities' I guess...are really horrible on WB a lot of the times, at least here...it's always fuzzy a lot, and the first time I saw it on DVD was like...woa. But meh, at least I'm still getting to see it.

Cool...they're showing Smallville in widescreen now.

Yea I noticed that too.

But damn, this is actually interesting already...and damn...he flies fast as hell...I don't believe Superman could ever fly that fast could he...? But whatever, still a pretty cool scene with a 'Matrix feel' sort of.

...and once again we get fucked up here and everything is a week behind schedule. I wish fucking CityTV would get with the god damn program for crying out loud.

Superman in the movies could fly pretty fuckin' fast. Remember when he turned back time? ;)

He can and even on the ground he can keep up with Flash. It's assumed Superman never maxes out and restrains himself to an extent, out of fear of causing major damage.

Ummm.. Superman's telekinetic??

I was switching between Smallville and Lost. Are you referring to when he snatched that object out of Lex's hand? It may be only because the object was linked to him, thus he simply called it to himself. Sillier things have happened on Smallville.

Anyway, he isn't telekinetic in the strictest sense, not like Jean Grey of the X-Men is. But it's been inferred that part of his powers, flight as an example, is due to some sort of telekinesis. Even before then, in the Superman movies (or so I've heard, since I don't have any great recollection), telekinesis was more developed and evolved into what we usually think of it as.

I think it was more of a case of the object being drawn to him.

Anyway, this was a GREAT episode. I thought they hired a good actress to portray Lois. She seemed to capture the very soul of Lois Lane.

It was also interesting to see the dueling personalities of Clark Kent and Kal-El. I'm sure Kal is still inside Clark, deep down...

I was kind of surprised with the whole "Lana possession" thing. The supernatural hasn't really been featured on Smallville that much.

One thing I hope is resolved this season is Jor-El. We've seen several versions of Clark/Kal's dead biological father: an idealistic young man, a caring father, and a booming voice that seeks to completely dominate his son. I have a feeling that the "Jor-El" in the cave is some sort of artificial intelligence that was created by the REAL Jor-El; I believe it took his plans too far.

I'd love it if it was an early version of Brainiac or one of his components or something.

Yeah, that would be awesome. Having it be Brainiac or the Eradicator would be the best way to go, IMO. I'm sure Jeph Loeb has some interesting ideas on the situation.

I liked Margot Kidder's character saying that she and Dr. Swan had a thing "in another lifetime".

EDIT: And the two sides of Clark was a cool nod to the Good Clark/Evil Superman fight from Superman 3. Was that something that happened in the comic too?

How do these people know so much about kryptonite? That's been bothering me.

The movie and comic book references are going right over my head. At least I was watching with pops this week, but next week I'm going to be missing alot.

You need to get on the ball and download the torrent instead of waiting a week for CITYTV to play catch up. The hell if I'm going to wait around and avoid threads all over the net when I can spend the big hour to download a 400mb file.

I could use a refresher on the Season Finale last year. I didn't have a clue why anyone was where they were. I remember Clark going into the cave and the bad ass explosion but that's about it.

How'd Luthor's plane manage to land with no door on it?

Is there a reference to a comic book story as it regards the Lana possession thing?

Well..most of it was kind of explained. John Kent was also in the cave when that explosion happened, and that's what took him out, and 'put him in the coma'...there was nothing wrong with Martha...as we all know Chloe was 'blown up', Lois explained her reason...Lana had for a few episodes said she was leaving for Paris, and finally did in the finale, which was why she was there in the first place. Lionel was arrested...and at the end of the season Lex was lying on the floor choking on poison as was explained. But because of his 'white blood cell count fiasco' he was fine.

And that's about all I can think of...Lana's 'boyfriend' said they had been dating for two months, and the beginning of the show as 'Three Months later' which explains why we hadn't really seen him before. And I think that's a good enough explanation.

And while I loved this episode, I still think to much happened. I mean, it seems like life pretty much went back to normal...and 'happy go lucky' within the span of this episode, when I thought it would go throughout the like first four/five eps or something, but it's all good.

And as someone else said...how much random people know about Krypton is beyond me...I mean, Dr. Swan still technically lied, and told someone else, who's to say he's not telling everyone? Just in that room. And where'd this black kryptonite come from...? Thst was one thing that made me angry, the lady just brought it up to Martha out of nowhere...and that just happened to be the exact thing she needed, which cured him instantly.

But it was still a great scene, although it kind of brings a WTF? But the episode as a whole was awesome. And I wonder what the whole, Zelda like 'uniting the three stones' thing is gonna lead to, as Clark (Kal-el) has already put one into position..

I always feeling like their trying to pull off too much stuff in this show, and I think it's hurting some of the character development.

I wonder if Clark has to accept his alien heritage before he can fly. That was kind of the impression I got when he said that KAL-EL can fly.

I got into Smallville at the end of the season last year. But since Lost is on at the same time, Lost gets the call.

Looks like I will be boycotting the WB this year.

I'm kind of surprised Chloe is back so soon. I would've thought that storyline would've gone on longer.

I wasn't really feeling Trent (the T-1000 guy). He just seemed like another "freak of the week" that died in the same episode he appeared in. The guy really didn't stand a chance against Clark anyway.

Lex really seemed dark and cold in this episode, something I liked. Lionel getting stabbed in the shower was fantastic.

I REALLY like Lois. She adds a certain dynamic to the show that I liked. Not to mention she's hot.

Oh, and Michael Ironside being on the show as Sam Lane rules.

They're resolving things very quickly so far. All loose ends except for Chloe's whereabouts were resolved in the first episode, and then that was tied up neatly in the second. It just seems too soon, and cheapens the cliffhangers of last season.

The T-1000 guy was lame. He might've been interesting with motive and backstory, but as a five-minute freak of the week, not so much.

Lex and Lionel continue to be the best characters on the show. However, taking a knife between the ribs is usually fatal.

I'm not sure I like Lois Lane being on the show, since canon has them not meeting until both are adults in Metropolis. Still, they've characterized her well, and she's quite easy on the eyes, so I can't object overmuch.

That's always been my big complaint, Tom. They tend to not develop stuff enough, either because they try to pull the strings too quickly (Pete/Chloe is another good example). I still generally enjoy it, but it'll get tape duty now that I've seen Lost.

As for Lionel, I liked the Hannibal-esque thing they had going with him.

So Lois digs up Chloe's grave in broad daylight and the cemetery people or cops never noticed?

...You've yet to notice there are no 'cementary people'? ;)

That can be noticed by all the fights, etc. that have taken place at the cemetary and no one ever shows up...

And the cops in Smallville only visit the Kent Farm...:P and the Talon but that's now closed.

What's up with The WB trying to make every episode look like it's nothing but sex? This week's episode was nothing like the previews made it out to be and I bet next week will be the same.

Sex sells, I guess?

Anyway, I'm not a fan of Lois Lane going to Smallville High. I'm aware the show is retelling the Superman legend from a perspective we really haven't seen, and I'll give them some leeway to change parts of it. That one seems like too much, though. Lois showing up to investigate Chloe's supposed murder? I'll buy it. Lois suddenly missing 5 credits, after being accepted to college, then staying in Smallville and finishing high school there? Not so much.

She looked good when she was in the plastic surgery apparatus, though.

I really liked the flashback involving Whitney. It's good to see that they don't just forget about characters.

I was kind of disappointed that Abby just disappeared after she kissed Lana. How is Lana going to feel about going to school with a girl who tried to kill her?

I kind of wish the show would bring in some of the classic Superman villains. Bizarro would be a good choice, as he was originally introduced as a clone of Superboy. Bizarro was originally a pathetic, almost Frankenstein's monster version of Superboy. Conduit/Kenny Braverman would be another good choice, as he actually was from Smallville AND developed powers due to exposure to Kryptonite radiation.

Yeah, Conduit would be a good call.

I can't come along for the ride on Bizarro, though. That's a little too out there and a little too comic book-y for my tastes.

But didn't you hear at the end of the episode? According to Chloe, Abby was fine with her mom being committed! She'd be back at school next week! No awkwardness at all damn it!

Really though I guess it was a pretty good episode. I didn't really buy Lois getting sent back to high school (c'mon, colleges ask for HS transcripts for a reason) but if it gets Durance on screen more, I'm all for it.

Is Clark's little football playing excursion going to get him a college scholarship? They keep talking about how rough the Kents have it and this is Clark's senior year. I'd think that a 6'3" guy who can always make the big play, run just fast enough to outrun the opposition, and can hit like a tank will probably have recruiters throwing money and hookers at him.

Also, nice touch at the end with Chloe realizing that she's been screwed over yet again, this time by her own cousin. Next week is going to be wierd with Chloe in a cheerleader outfit and Clark's little Kent maybe getting some action.
