Guest tnamark Posted September 22, 2004 Report Posted September 22, 2004 - As reported yesterday, Marc Mero was backstage and will be wrestling at the Impact! taping next week from 411wrestling.com Do you think Mero is a worthy pickup? He wasn't bad at all in his WWF run in the mid-late 1990's and I think he could be decent if he still has it.
TheBigSwigg Posted September 22, 2004 Report Posted September 22, 2004 I predict Marc Mero will fight Jarrett for the title at Victory Road.
Guest Dynamite Kido Posted September 22, 2004 Report Posted September 22, 2004 After reading this I was wondering..................when was his last match?
Guest The Last Free Voice Posted September 22, 2004 Report Posted September 22, 2004 .... Oy. I mean... MARC MERO? Can't they go after someone... I dunno... with a TAD bit of name value? And if they can't at least get someone with TALENT? I mean... Oy.
Guest Dynamite Kido Posted September 22, 2004 Report Posted September 22, 2004 Fellas....keep in mind just because he was backstage doesn't mean that they are going to sign him.
Guest The Last Free Voice Posted September 22, 2004 Report Posted September 22, 2004 True. But still... oy. Why not bring in O'Haire or someone? I mean... O'Haire looks like a legit contender, at least for TNA... Mero? Not so much...
Zack Malibu Posted September 22, 2004 Report Posted September 22, 2004 After reading this I was wondering..................when was his last match? For Hogan's XWF a few years ago.
Guest whitemilesdavis Posted September 22, 2004 Report Posted September 22, 2004 Mero was actually a really good worker when he was young, but was always overshadowed by stupid gimmicks or storylines. He could be a good pick-up, we'll have to wait and see.
Placebo Effect Posted September 22, 2004 Report Posted September 22, 2004 I believe that it's a dark match with some local radio DJ or something. I may be wrong though.
Guest The Last Free Voice Posted September 22, 2004 Report Posted September 22, 2004 Key: when he was YOUNG. If he can still go (which I doubt) then I guess it's not that bad of an idea... but I doubt it.
Guest Dynamite Kido Posted September 22, 2004 Report Posted September 22, 2004 Hey, I haven't seen the guy wrestle in years.....I'll give him a chance........then I'll shit all over him.
Guest The Last Free Voice Posted September 22, 2004 Report Posted September 22, 2004 I'm saving the time.... By the By, what's the next RoH reveiw you're doing for PCN? If you're doing another, o/c.
Guest Staravenger Posted September 22, 2004 Report Posted September 22, 2004 I like Marc Mero, but I haven't enjoyed a match of his since 1996...EIGHT YEARS AGO. He has got some name value, but he's more likely than not, WAY over the hill by now. Use him to put someone NOT named Jarrett wouldn't hurt though.
Guest whitemilesdavis Posted September 22, 2004 Report Posted September 22, 2004 Exactly - we KNOW Nash can't wrestle. Fair game. We don't know about Mero. Let's wait and see. Remember: Mankind and Austin were used up WCW rejects.
Guest The Last Free Voice Posted September 22, 2004 Report Posted September 22, 2004 .... I'm out of the loop, so don't flame me for this... But why are you bringing up NASH? Tell me he's not being brought in....
Guest whitemilesdavis Posted September 22, 2004 Report Posted September 22, 2004 The rumor is that Nash, Hall and X-pac are coming.
Guest Staravenger Posted September 22, 2004 Report Posted September 22, 2004 I quit. What exactly are you quitting?
Magus Posted September 22, 2004 Report Posted September 22, 2004 - TNA got a big plug on today's Monsters in the Morning radio show out of Florida (which is broadcasted nationally via XM Radio). The show plugged the return of Marc Mero in a tag match with DJ Russ Rollings next week at the Impact! taping in Orlando. Many TNA wrestlers including Raven, Dusty Rhodes, and Jeff Jarrett also appeared during the segment. From 411. So maybe this is a one time thing, which doesn't make it so bad. Mero will wrestle a little, the crowd will cheer, and then he'll leave. Here's what I'm afraid of though: TNA will sign Mero to a contract and try to push him as a Living Legend, and that we're somehow lucky to see him return out of retirement. They'll have AJ carry him in a match then push him up against Jarrett. Jarrett will put himself over Mero and continue to book TNA to shit.
