Bored 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2004 If the fucking Cubs let the Assholes by the Bay into the playoffs I will curse them to never winning a World Series again! Oh wait. Mariners hammer the Rangers 9-0 today. If the A's win tonight they'll have division almost locked up. Lose and it gets really dicey going into the final week. I have tickets to Friday night's series opener against the Angels.
Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2004 Bonds kept the game alive by legging out an infield hit, but came up limping about halfway to first and was just taken out of the game. Looks like it may be a groin injury. If he misses any games, the Giants are done.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2004 The Dodgers beat the Giants 7-4 to open a 2 1/2 game lead. The Giants trail the Cubs by 1/2 a game in the wild card, the Astros trail by 1 1/2, and the Padres trail by 2 1/2.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2004 I think that just set a record for earliest time in a baseball game I felt forced to hit the mute button.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted September 27, 2004 I think that just set a record for earliest time in a baseball game I felt forced to hit the mute button. What happened? The earliest I've ever had to mute (or change the channel) was in the first inning a couple of weeks ago on YES. Posada or Matsui or Sheffield worked a walk, and the commentary somehow managed to degenerate into five minutes of Bonds dick sucking.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2004 Mark McLemore bunted Mark Kotsay to third, which immediately led Joe Morgan into a diatribe over the benefits of small ball, and how perhaps the A's felt it was necessary because this was "like a playoff game." There's only so much Moneyball-bashing I can take before I smash my television in frustration.
Bored 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2004 Macha better have a quick hook on Mulder tonight. The man has nothing left. He shouldn't be in the postseason rotation, if they get there.
Bored 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2004 Mulder is just horrible on every level. He is DONE. If the A's don't win the division his complete collapse will be the main reason.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2004 For those of you not watching, the Angels have suspended Jose Guillen for the remainder of the season, presumably for actions after being substituted in last night's game. As Morgan says, there's more to this that we don't know yet.
Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2004 Yeah, what's up with that? That's a pretty big loss, so he must've done something real bad to warrant suspension for the rest of the season.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted September 27, 2004 For those of you not watching, the Angels have suspended Jose Guillen for the remainder of the season, Glad to see that the Angels have found the secret to winning a division. Or something. I don't particularly want the Angels in the playoffs, but if I was an Angel fan, the only acceptable reason would be "He killed someone"
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted September 27, 2004 A quick check shows that the Angels are voluntarily benching the rough equivalent to Matsui on the Yankees. He had better have killed someone.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2004 I'm guessing he lashed out and struck at Scioscia or someone in the clubhouse.
Bored 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2004 If Joe Blanton isn't starting for Mulder when I'm at the game Friday I'm going to be severly dissapointed.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted September 27, 2004 I'm guessing he lashed out and struck at Scioscia or someone in the clubhouse. So fine him. You're in a god damned pennant race. Deal with it accordingly if and when you're eliminated, don't cut off your nose to spite your face.
mike546 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2004 I'd say Matsui is a bit better than Guillen. And importance wise, benching Guillen is like benching Jeter to the Angels.
Cuban Linx 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2004 Nice to see the Angels bench Guillen just in time for the Texas series. Now if they can just bench Vlad Guerrero too we'll be in business, for all the good it'll do after blowing the series at home vs Seattle and probably falling 3 back again. EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2004 They're only dumping Guillen for a week. Over a single week, the difference between Guillen and a replacement works out to maybe two hits, on average. It won't make a significant difference.
mike546 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2004 Even though Matsui doesn't have a great arm, and makes some mistakes, he gets to the ball VERY quick.
Bored 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2004 Okay the A's officially want to choke before the playoffs apparantly. FUCK THIS SHIT!!!! They absolutely have to win the next three games. They have Redman with his home ERA over 7 pitching Thursday and Mark "nothing is wrong with me" Mulder on Friday. The A's don't have the offesne to overcome those two pieces of shit right now. Oh well I wasn't looking forward to spending $35 on bleacher seats for the division series. Fucking price gouging mother fucking A's owners. *AS like rant over*

Guest GreatOne Report post Posted September 27, 2004 I probably shouldn't say this, but when the fucking Mariners are playing the best ball of the four AL West teams here in the stretch (sure THIS year and not the last two they do) it's not a good sign towards dethroning 'Evil Empire I' or 'II' in two weeks. Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2004 It's the plus playoffs thing that baffles me. One week is nothing, but he must've really fucked up if they're ready to bench of their biggest contributors, even in the postseason.
cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2004 I know there's likely been bitching about this, but what the fuck are the Cubs doing? They get some gift stuff this weekend (Giants lose 2/3 at home to the Dodgers, Astros lost one to the Brewers 8-0) and yet what do they do? Lose 2 out of 3 to the fucking METS! I swear it reminds me of 1998 when the Cubs had the WC in their grasp and Brant Brown made that horrid error against Milwaukee that damn near cost them the playoffs. They get the Reds at Wrigley for 4 this week, and anything other than taking 3/4 in that series is embarrassing. Then close with the Braves, who might well be resting guys for the playoffs. strummer 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2004 Apparenly Guillen was angry for being taken out for a pinch runner after being hit by a pitch yesterday. I've never heard of a player throwing a fit for being replaced for a pinch runner
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted September 27, 2004 I love this one. September 26, 2004 -- A diehard Yankees fan who has rooted for the team since 1959 is doing the unthinkable - praying that the Curse of the Bambino shifts from Boston to New York. And he says he'll ask for $3 million from the Bronx Bombers in a legal suit being drawn up by his lawyer. Nick Malossi, 50, an electrician from Albany, is steaming after security guards at Yankee Stadium tossed him from a game Wednesday - because he snapped a photo of catcher Jorge Posada's wife, he claims. To make matters worse, he says the guards wouldn't let him come back in to get his blind friend. "I was humiliated," said Malossi, who attended the Yankees-Blue Jays game with his pal, Jerry Lonergan, 45. "I'm going to pray that the Lord takes the curse off the Red Sox and puts it on the Yankees," he said, describing himself as the "world's greatest Yankee fan" who has spent thousands on Yankee memorabilia and attends 20 games a year. Malossi and Lonergan, a blind news dealer, were sitting in $55 seats behind home plate and enjoying the game when Malossi decided to click some pictures of the team with two disposable cameras. Most of the shots were of on-the-field action, but "a couple were of attractive women in the stands," said Malossi. One was Posada's wife, Laura, who was sitting with a group of other women about 25 feet away. Malossi recognized her from shots of her he'd seen on TV. "I meant no harm," said Malossi. "She looked at me expressionless almost, so I walked away, took a few more pictures and thought I should get back to check on Jerry." A few minutes later, "security comes up and says, 'Let's see your ticket. Come with us.' I said, 'What did I do?'" Two guards escorted him out and told him he wasn't allowed back in but didn't explain why. "I said, 'Can I at least go get my friend? He's blind!'" said Malossi. "They said, 'It's not our problem.'" Malossi later tracked down a cop, who helped track down Lonergan, who needs a walking cane to get around. Malossi's lawyer, Albany attorney David Brickman, said he's working up a civil suit that will seek $3 million from the Yankees. A spokesman for the Yankees said the team officials were unaware of the incident, but would "look into it." The frigging dirty old man not only goes to a baseball game and then starts taking pictures of random women probably about 25 years younger than him(which is fucking creepy to begin with) but then starts taking pictures of the star catcher's wife without her permission (heading into stalker territory) and has the nerve to paint himself a victim when it's pointed out that he's a fucking dirty old man and thrown out? Guest Staravenger Report post Posted September 27, 2004 Judge: Lets see...you're pressing charges against the New York Yankees for 3 Million Dollars...why? Dumbass: Because I got thrown out of a game for stalking Jorge Posadas wife. Judge: Get out of my court. Dumbass: But my friend was with me, and he's blind! Judge: Not my problem. Case dismissed.
