nl5xsk1 0 Report post Posted September 28, 2004 The fact that Edge & Michaels are even 'finalists' is a formality. It'll come down to Benoit & Orton, and my guess is that Benoit will get the shot but then lose the match. It's time for HHH to get his jobs back, and it's too early for Orton to lose ANOTHER match to him. My guess is that Orton will actually win the 'election' but will be swindled out of his title shot somehow (just like they did when someone would win the Rumble but not get the 'Mania title shot) and will face Batista or Flair at the PPV. Benoit will back-door his way to the title shot and then lose.

Maybe I misunderstood, since I missed most of Raw, but didn't JR say when Orton lost the match to Batista that it put him out of the running as a challenger? The Tino Standard 0 Report post Posted September 28, 2004 After watching Raw, I think it's pretty clear to see where this is going... They hammered us over the head with the fact that Orton CANNOT get the title shot at Taboo Tuesday. Triple H is going to keep ducking him for months. This, of course, leads to Orton being left with only one way to get a shot at the title- winning the Royal Rumble. He will win the Rumble, then go on an 'epic' 2+ month feud with Triple H, culminating with Orton 'overcoming all odds' to win the belt at Wrestlemania. In the meantime, so that there are 4 challengers, Shelton Benjamin will probably get Orton's spot in the Taboo Tuesday fan poll. Triple H needs to get jobs back from both Benoit and Benjamin. They could go with the 'plucky underdog gets a shot in the spotlight and comes THISclose to winning the title' route with Benjamin. But because Benoit has gone over Triple H on a more consistent and convincing basis, my money is on the Crippler doing the J-O-B at Taboo Tuesday, as that is probably a bigger priority on HHH's list. There, I just saved you from needing to watch the next 6 months of Raw. You're welcome.
Guest GreatOne Report post Posted October 1, 2004 Or maybe Orton wins the Rumble, flips off RAW and goes to Smackdown and we get the long-awaited ***** match-at-will-spawning Orton/JBL series. You're right, I should stop giving Vince ideas

I may or may not have went over this already, as it seems like a pretty decent formula and hopefully the one they follow. IF BOOKED RIGHT, it could work and end up with Orton being as over as he should be as World Champion. Except, I would put the Benoit J-O-B on Survivor Series, because he's a bigger superstar than Benjamin AND HHH hasn't even gone near Benoit lately except during the 6 man tag recently. Robert 0 Report post Posted October 2, 2004 Ugh, what a waste of time. I went to it, because I was sent down there from work (cop shop.) Not much there, got to met Trish Stratus, very nice person. Her reaction to our thread was kinda shocking, but she laughed. What's nice is that my boss called the Vulcan (meanest guy there) got free VIP tickets to the show. I get to go, and meet some guys which should be cool.

humongous2002 0 Report post Posted October 2, 2004 Edge gets a title shot after he was booed out of his own country and bombed as a babyface? The double standards in the WWE never ends.
Robert 0 Report post Posted October 2, 2004 You talked to Trish about the fact you post on wrestling message board? Geek... I said it jokingly. It's not like I was all serious and stuff, I just got a quick laugh out of all. That was it. She is really a nice person, and I got to see Batista up-close. Holy crap, he is bigger that I thought. I'm a big guy (6'4) and he just made me look like a shrimp.
Guest reek Report post Posted October 2, 2004 I'm still expecting Orton/HHH II at Taboo Tuesday. Sure they told us that Orton's shot is gone but like that means anything. WWE have been trying to manipulate fan's voting since the PPV was announced, how better to get the fans behind Orton than to have him come back from such an impossible position. Scroby 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2004 I'm guessing since Orton is now "outta the run" for the title shot with HHH he'll be stuck in a match with Flair. Benjamin will take his place in the "poll". HBK will take up a match with Christian and Bischoff will make it so HBK isn't on the "Poll" anymore since he now has a match with Christian. So that leaves us with Benjamin and Beniot but since Beniot has just pulled yet another Heat Show and the WWE had Benjamin get a DQ win over HHH. WWE will shove Benjamin down the thoarts of the fans to try and make sure he gets voted for and maybe give Beniot some other match, maybe with Regal as a tag team to get the tag titles of La Resistance.
