Tuesday morning, police said a suspect was still on the loose. Several people were taken by ambulance to Sinai Grace Hospital following the incident that took place Tuesday morning at a licensed daycare facility. Both Detroit and Michigan State Police responded to the scene. The daycare center is operated in a home on Woodbine, just northwest of 7 Mile and Telegraph. Initially, it appeared the shootings might have taken place just outside the home. Two people at the daycare facility, which backs up to Telegraph Road, ran through its backyard and flagged down Michigan State Police troopers. By 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick had arrived at the scene and was seen speaking to investigators.
