Miraculous matches

Recommended Posts

The Snow match wasn't Benoit's debut in ECW. He'd wrestled for them a fair few times in 1994.

And I actually got the Benoit DVD myself a few weeks ago, and watched the match in question. It is in no way a squash, and Snow gets in the amount of offense he should have, given their respective positions on the totem pole at the time. I'd give it ***1/4-***1/2 myself.

My fault, I thought I heard Joey Styles suggesting it was. But than again, this is Styles were talking about so I should have known better.

Assuming you've seen the whole DVD, what did you think of the documentary part, and the matches ?

I don't own DVD yet, it's been on my "to get" list for some time now. I have seen most of the matches at one point or another and have several on tape.

I remember the hogan/jericho match, wasn't it smackdown though? That was the one that had people jumping back to hogan's side saying look at the old man try to work, and to give him credit in that one match hogan did give it the old college try.

IMO, very overrated. Maybe I was in a foul mood or something, but this match did not do it for me and I've seen it a couple times. Still don't see what everyone creams their shorts over.

It isn't exactly Old School, but how about the RVD/Orton match a year or so ago. Up to this point Orton had looked like complete trash, and then RVD who is NEVER KNOWN for being the ring general, carries Orton to a pretty entertaining match where Orton was almost unconcious five minutes into it. Orton was inspired to come online the next day and write a sort of "thank you" to RVD for being professional about it, and working the match the best way possible for both of them in the given circumstance.

Yeah, was that the one from Raw, because they had another decent one at Armageddon that year aswell, but I remember the Raw one being better....

I don't recall it being anything great, but Hogan actually made Jericho look like a serious threat, and didn't even beat him with the punchpunchpunch, boot, leg drop routine, which is probably why it's made out to be better than it is.
