WWE poll on Yahoo

Recommended Posts

Sorry if this isn't worth its own thread, feel free to delete it if it's not. There's a poll at tv.yahoo.com now asking who your favorite WWE star is. I always like to see WWE polls in mainstream outlets and the results. Current numbers:

Question: Who's your favorite current WWE star?

4013 votes since Sep 28 2004

HHH 14% 547 votes

Chris Benoit 8% 335 votes

Eddie Guerrero 7% 294 votes

Kurt Angle 7% 271 votes

Chris Jericho 9% 360 votes

Shawn Michaels 16% 626 votes

Randy Orton 8% 333 votes

Undertaker 31% 1247 votes

Why must they be so cruel and force me to choose between Benoit and Jericho?

:(

The people of Florida are going to screw up this poll! "I wanted to pick Eddie Guerrero but I accidently picked Randy Orton........computers are so confusing"

I firmly believe anyone who voted Orton did so only to screw up the poll (just like how people love to screw around with wwe.com polls). But since this is a yahoo poll not even in a wwe section, there could be a lot of people who haven't watched recent shows and didn't know Orton is a face now and voted for him thinking of him as a heel.

Good lord, this gives me bad memories of Yahoo Wrestling Chat.

Typical yahoo wrestling chatroom discussion would be something like this.

l< /-\ N 3 fan943: If you like Undertaker press 111

RKOisTheBest: Any girls 13-18 wanna cyber

HBK_fan_dallas: WHO WANTS TO DO SOME TRIVIA. WHO DID HOGAN BEAT AT WM6

Dumbass48: I know wrestlers real names

Horny girl pic in profile: hey big boy

~blondie~: was it Andre

Oh please, WWF on AOL was better for pure comic dumbshit value--esp back at the end of 96

'Hey you wanna join the nwo?'

'Roolz'

'Sting's gonna take over the nwo form Hogan'

'kevin nash and scoot hall are really in the wwf'

'if you like sunny press 69'

'randy savage will wrestle ultimate warior at survivor series'

'Chiris Beniot is really trying to take woman' (hey even a blind squirrel finds his nut)

And then there was Vince Russo himself (WWFRusso was his screen name so I'm guessing it had to be him) PMing me saying that Ric Flair would be in Michaels' corner against Sid.

Good times by all, though the Jets were so gawd-awful (two of my boys at the time were Jets fans) we had fun with the press button in another forum--Press 1 Jets 0

I've met this guy. Possibly at Wrestlemania XX.

Ha!

I have to say I'm fairly surprised at the margin by which Taker has beat HBK and Trips. I would have thought they'd all be around the same.

Well, you have to remember that most of the people on Yahoo! are newbie marks, not smarks like most of the people here. Also, from what the people described in the chat rooms, it's the twitchy kind of marks, too.

Yes, and I'm not all surprised by the low(ish) amount of votes for the perennial smark favourites. Just going by crowd reaction I would have thought HHH and HBK would have both performed better.

I remember that the first places I ever talked wrestling online were the Yahoo chat, the prowrestling.com chat and the ... ahem ... Kevin Nash message board, which I signed up to post in when he started asking for booking suggestions from people who read his webpage.

I used to always complain that people told too many jokes and didn't focus enough on content. Whereas now, I ....

Nevermind.

Did he ever use any of the suggestions?

No. In fact, I wrote this long explanation of what I thought they should do and he chimed in with a response. All he said was "I love head."

Gotta love Big Sexy.

Say what you will about him, but I'd love to see Nash take Lawler's colour commentary position on Raw. Just randomly coming out with 'I love head' during a match would be 100 times funnier than anything Lawler's come up with in the past 5 years.

Its the type of place where a person would use a Chris Beniot reference in the user name but would not know what a promo is.

Plus he was great on that one episode of Thunder where he did commentary.

31% for Taker..

That seems a bit high.

Not really surprised that Taker is number one, especially with his new deadman character.

That is really, really sad. :bonk:

So which ideas he end up actually using? :P

Reason #1 Nash > Foley--Nash is an Al Snow fan.

He decided to put Ric Flair in a mental institution and have him run the company from an insane asylum. No one suggested that.
