Guest Smues Report post Posted October 2, 2004 I've been told by people who follow the M's more closely the hitting coach Paul Molitor told him to try to swing for power more so he adjusted his swing and that's why he had such a horrible start of the season. I think a Tim Raines, Tony Gwynn is more of the model to look at here. Of course, he could always be the next Julio Franco. You never know. But very few hitters last beyond 40.
