Movies that people say they hate... without seeing

Recommended Posts

I just saw F 9/11 the other night and it is certainly better than BFC. Columbine lacked a real clear focus to it that 9/11 had, I wasn't sure what Moore was trying to say overall about violence in the US. In 9/11 though his focus was clear and while some aspects were manipulative as hell (the mother reading the Bush bashing letter from her dead soldier son) at least there were enough legit aspects to go on (ignoring Bin Laden to go after Saddam, using bogus "evidence" to justify going to Iraq, etc.).

If 9/11 had a flaw it would be in the 1st half with all the dizzying array of companies and Saudi influence on them. Moore implied a mass conspiracy in the Saudi nationals (including Bin Laden's family) being allowed to fly out of the country, but really in the chaotic wake of Sept. 11 I can see why they just wanted to get those people out of the country to prevent a VERY ugly incident.

There are a fair share of people who automatically write off movies that are:

1) In black & white

2) In another language and require English subtitles

3) Silent films

4) Teen movies

5) Chick flicks

6. Any movie starring Jim Varney.

7) Star Wars movies

8)Any animated movie

I agree, it's stupid to not like a movie simply because it's animated, some of the best movies i have seen have been animated.

Akira

Lion King

Princess Mononoke

TheHunchback of Notre Dame

All great.

Kevin Smith's movies get lumped into this category, probably more so than any other single director (other than Michael Moore)

Especially his latest Jersey Girl which got bashed because of the Bennifer backlash

Madonna's whole movie career.

What about Dick Tracy? You can't hate Dick Tracy.. ;)

She was also in "A Leauge of Their Own", assuming it hasn't been mentioned yet.

I won't watch any of the stereotypical "teen" movies that are made nowadays. Like 2 Fast 2 Furious, Biker Boys, etc. Anything with Vin Diesel.

I've actually had the "pleasure" of seeing "Manos: The Hands Of Fate" (infact I actually own it. The MST3K episode, not the actual movie), so yeah, you would be right. Without a doubt, it's the most disgusting, brutal, horrible, terrible, awful, wretched, bad, shitty, crappy movie I have ever seen in my entire life!

I've seen the movie, without Mystery Theatre, and it's STILL not as bad as "Axe'Em."

I know alot of people who refuse to watch LotR movies. "I am not into that wizard and dragon stuff", is a common line. I guess I was the same way before I saw Felloship.

I refuse to see them only because I know I'll probably like it. And, really, I don't need another fandom right now.

As for Farenheit 9/11, that was actually quite a good movie.

Life of Brian

And I hate "Torque," "The Fast and the Furious" and all those other shitty movies, though I've never seen them.

I also know people that hate the Matrix without watching it.

Columbine lacked a real clear focus to it that 9/11 had

I actually thought that 9/11 lacked the focus of B4C.

For the title how about 'I STILL know what you did last summer'?

Supposedly set a year later--wouldn't that make the 'last' summer 'this' summer? Who the hell came up with title, Vince Russo?
