Angels/Red Sox ALDS Thread

So nice of Anaheim to just completely roll over this series.

Christ, at least Oakland puts up a fight.

This is really pathetic. I figured the Sox were going to take the series, but the Angels look completely helpless out there. That fifth inning for the Halos was borderline embarrassing. Taking pitches right down the middle and awful-looking swings. Appears that they're not even going to make this one interesting.

Someone just told me that they were comparing Kevin Millar to DON MATTINGLY?

A poor man's Don Mattingly, I would assume. Millar has been a great fielder this season. And at 32, Mattingly hit 291/364/445. That's not far from Kevin Millar.

Kevin Millar?

Hell, in every game I've seen it's taken all his effort to move in the general direction of the ball.

There's alot that goes into fielding, even that you don't see on tv. Perhaps Millar is excellent at setting up before the play. Win Shares rates him as the second best fielding first baseman in the league. And this is a system that rates Tino Martinez and Don Mattingly as "A" fielders.

I'm assuming this is just a SoCal thing. LA and Anaheim have been DOA.

"Like woah, man, we both got there and stuff.

Guest Smell the ratings!!!

look, if you have a pulse, you can be an above-average first basemen defensively.

So Jason Giambi doesn't have a pulse?

Have you seen him lately?

He does look horrible, but he had no pulse even when he looked good.

Do we really need an in-game update for a game that occured two days ago?

We don't need a lot of things that ESPN shows us during games. But that's niether here nor now.

It's not fair to call the Red Sox a Traveling Band of Idiots. They also have their fair share of burnouts and lunatics.
