Guest Smues Report post Posted October 5, 2004 I'll be in classes for all of game 1, but thanks to the miracle of one of my classes being on computers and mlb.com gameday I'll be keeping up to date with it for the first 2 hours. Hooray technology. Go Cards, LA winning the whole thing would make me a sad panda.
HarleyQuinn 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2004 Looking for the NLCS so soon huh Al? What about the NLDS?
The Man in Blak 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2004 Heh. This is going to be a fun day at work.
B. Brian Brunzell 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2004 I can catch the first three innings of so from the house, then at work, I'll turn on the rado and listen. Hooray for the postseason.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2004 Some guy in the campus newspaper today wrote about how the World Series will be between the Dodgers/Yankees b/c that would provide the highest ratings. Sounded like a Bud Selig conspiracy theory.
The Man in Blak 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2004 Sounds to me like a shitty college newspaper article. In the meantime, since I couldn't catch the game, I walked down to the area around the stadium and picked up a bratwurst. Once I find an online radio station that carries the game, my playoff experience will begin. You may now return to your shallow, uneventful lives.
Guest Smues Report post Posted October 5, 2004 And of course the game is about to start and mlb.com appears to be down.
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2004 Some guy in the campus newspaper today wrote about how the World Series will be between the Dodgers/Yankees b/c that would provide the highest ratings. Sounded like a Bud Selig conspiracy theory. Wow, such a ballsy statement. Thinking the Dodgers and Yankees might draw the highest ratings. Gee, such a stance to go with the two biggest cities in the freaking playoffs.
The Man in Blak 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2004 Not that it matters, since you have to pay to access the Gameday Audio from MLB.com. And, of course, there's some bizarre electro-magnetic field around my building that allows the Smooth Jazz and religious stations to come in clearly, but blocks out all possible Cardinals Radio affiliates. Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2004 I'm on one of the school computers right now and am "watching" the game on MLB Gameday. We've got about eight TVs down here in the student cafeteria / lounge and NONE of them are on the game. I guess the World Series of Poker and soap operas are more important. HarleyQuinn 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2004 Right now I'm watching the game in my dorm room although I have class from 2 - 3:15 which pisses me off, grr.
bob_barron 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2004 I'm skipping class for this.
Guest Smues Report post Posted October 5, 2004 I wasn't gonna get the audio since I'm in class, just the gameday window that shows what's happening. I still can't get mlb.com to load, but i've got the espn gamecast going now.
Guest Smues Report post Posted October 5, 2004 Never mind, the espn gamecast isn't loading either. Argh. Am I doomed to actually pay attention in this stupid class?
bob_barron 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2004 Damn. This team is GOOD
B. Brian Brunzell 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2004 Well, Pujols just put the Cards up 1-0. Is there a better overall hitter in baseball right now?
Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2004 I knew that was going to happen.
Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2004 I've gotta head over to class now, but looks like the Cards are just continuing to do what they did all season. Timely hitting, running a lot and good defense. Go Dodgers!
Guest Sylvan Grenier Report post Posted October 5, 2004 Perez, you fucking tool! Okay, Renteria is about to steal third, I think, and then he gets caught in a rundown, Perez tries to throw the ball to second but HE DROPS IT! Renteria stays at second. Guest Sylvan Grenier Report post Posted October 5, 2004 Hey, if you thought Mark Grudzielanek had the worst swing in baseball, watch out! Reggie Sanders just threw the bat into the stands and some ld lady seemed shocked and appalled.
strummer 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2004 Wow, I didn't know Matheny was such a poor hitter, a .287 OBP!!

Guest Smues Report post Posted October 5, 2004 MLB.com works for me finally huzzah. Go Cardinals.
Big McLargeHuge 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2004 How the hell do neither Jim Edmonds or Reggie Sanders get Renteria home from second with NO OUTS? Neither of them even advanced the runner.
Guest Smues Report post Posted October 5, 2004 Williams' pitch count is pretty high through 3 innings. Hopefully he can get a quick 4th and 5th and keep going.
The Man in Blak 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2004 And a home run for Larry Walker makes it 2-0!
Guest Smues Report post Posted October 5, 2004 That'd be nice if they could chase Perez early and get to the bullpen and make them work and wear them down so they're tired for the next games.
Big McLargeHuge 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2004 Fuck yeah! Go Edgar! Two-run double.
