JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted October 6, 2004 OLD SCHOOL SHOW OF THE DAY FOR 10/6/04: HALLOWEEN HAVOC 1994 I thought I'd start a daily or so thread where I post an old WWF, WCW, or maybe even ECW PPV and we all post our thoughts about it on here. Have you seen the show? What matches were good? Bad? Did you like the show? Post any thoughts or comments about it here! Our first show is the Hogan/Flair retirement match (HA!) show, Halloween Havoc 1994! ===================================================== Halloween Havoc 1994 October 23,1994 in Detroit, MI Joe Louis Arena drawing 14,000 ($189,000) Shown live on PPV (0.97) 1. TheOriginalOrangeGoblin 0 Report post Posted October 6, 2004 Decent show. A good Hogan match and the fact that Pretty Wonderful won tag gold(man I marked for them) made it watchable for me.
UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted October 6, 2004 I remember interviewing Brian "B.G. James - Road Dogg" Armstrong on my radio show about that Dark Match...he remembered it, surprisingly.
MillenniumMan831 0 Report post Posted October 6, 2004 IIRC, this was Stunning Steve's last hoorah on ppv. And the cage match was fun chaos w/ The Brain channeling his energies from 1992 but it wasn't the same w/o Gorilla. It was maybe the first blantantly WWF-style match on WCW ppv. JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted October 6, 2004 I have to admit I've never seen this show, so I'm interested to see what everyone has to say about it. This was a time in WCW where things were just about to go downhill (at least in the view of many) as you had Hogan feuding with Vader next and bringing in his friends (with guys like Duggan going over Austin, etc) and then feuding with the horrible Dungeon of Doom. BUTT 0 Report post Posted October 6, 2004 Hogan-Flair was a really good match. Sadly, this PPV is tainted by the fact that it marks the debut of the worst entrance theme ever, Dave Sullivan's "I Want to Be a Hulkamaniac".
JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted October 7, 2004 So is this pretty much a one match show?

natey2k4 0 Report post Posted October 11, 2004 They should of gotten Jim Powers to join up with Paul Orndorff instead.. Paul Roma was an unsportsmanlike asshole.

snuffbox 0 Report post Posted October 12, 2004 I actually really liked this ppv...and still throw the tape in the vcr every now and again. It was possibly the best Hogan-headlined ppv of his face run in WCW. WCW had gotten off to such a good start in 94...lackluster SuperBrawl, great Slamboree and Spring Stampede, pretty good clashes, and awesome tv matches like Flair-Steamboat and Flair-Sting...then Hogan came in and the spiral went downward. But this show was quite good, imo, and especially good in relation to Hogans reign at the time. Badd-Honky wasnt as bad as I thought it would be, tag title match was ok, Dave/Evad vs Kevin sucked it, Rhodes and Arn could dial in a watchable match, Duggan was an unfunny joke, Vader-Boss/Angel/Whatever was always good, Nasty Boys/Funk/Buck was a somewhat entertaining brawl iirc, and the Flair-Hogan cage match (with the pointless retirement stip) was by far the best match the two had together. Guest PlatinumBoy Report post Posted October 12, 2004 Is this Patriot the same one that would go on to feud with Bret in 97?
