B-Boy to become the 2004 Revolution Strong Style Tournament Champion Dave did mention at the end of the hotline that A.J. Styles and Delirious should be ready to compete at the 8th anniversary show. IWA seems to have all the luck, they give the title to Styles due to Cannon's injury, and now AJ has to miss at least one show due to injury as well. At least Sabin wrestling indicates he's OK. The Tournament itself looks to have gone how i expected with the Joe/B-Boy match IWA's booked and had to cancel about three times finally going down, looking forward to seeing pretty much all the tourney matches aside from Whitmer's. JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted October 24, 2004 10/23 results, from the IWA board: Not sure the exact attendance but I'd say at least 250, probably more. Once it get past double digits I'm no good with estimates. Trik Davis over Chandler McClure Davey Andrews over Mike Wallace, no not the old dude from 60 minutes. I don't know who this guy was, he was announced from South Bend. I guess Andrews is being positioned as the top Punk trainee. He isn't horrible after only a handful of matches. Matt Sydal over Chris Sabin. Match was going along real good & then just kinda ended at around seven minutes or so. They seemed to be building towards a longer match, but I guess that wasn't the case. Ian Rotten & Dusty Rhodes defeated Candido & Stone. Dusty got color & Ian was bleeding like crazy. Match was about what you'd expect. Before the match Fannin talked about how the guy, even though he was a kid, from last month was a pussy for not fighting him. Didn't get much heat like I thought he might. After the match Fannin gave Ian an envelope & said he war has just begun. Ian wouldn't open it because he didn't want to ruin a great evening. I think the contents of the envelope will have something to do with Baby Doll. That reference will fly over some heads but guys in their mid-twenties & older should know what I'm talking about. Mickie beat Mercedes by DQ when MsChif interfered. Mscif posted Mickie twice & Mickie bladed. Talk about a classy lady. Then Martinez & MsChif had an impromtu match & were both counted out. Somehow out of all of this they will have a rematch at the girle show on 11/20. Nothing was said about were Mickie factors in. Also Daizee Haze will wresle Lacey in a 30 minute iron women match. That should be pretty good as those two work well together. Gang Green (Punk's students) had a tag match. Evan Starsmore was selling the arm from the night before, which was cool. The only thing is he looks like Marilyn Manson without the makeup. Possibly the skinniest person I've ever seen in the ring. They didn't get a whole lot of time to do anything that stood out. If they stick with it they'll all get better. It just takes time. Jimmy Jacobs over JC Bailey. I guess Delirious was too hurt to wrestle. Hopefully he'll be OK soon. atch was alright. Bailey juiced but it wasn't a first blood match anymore. I guess it was just getting over the point that Jacobs can make people bleed for when him & Deli have their match. Boz beat Abyss by DQ. Was hoping Boz would win but Abyss is being protected for some reason. I'm guessing TNA doesn't want him losing or something, because out of the four matches this week he pinned Webb & the others were countout or DQ. Collyer over Double C via tap out. The Wildcards retained the tag titles over B-Boy & Homicide. Good match, lots of stiff shots. B-Boy & Homicide have some issues to work out. I'd love to see these two wrestle again as their match Friday was good, but if they were enemies, I think their matches would be great. I think B-Boy is just tremendous & a bit underrated. Nigel, Aries & Strong over Samoa Joe, Ace Steel & Nate Webb. It was good to see Nate out there with these guys. Nigel was really good doing his heel stuff & was also being more vocal then usual. He was sayng some really funny stuff on the apron. Match was good & a lot of fun. Nate took the fall, surprise surprise, I can't remember the finish as there was lots of stuff going on around the ring. Daniels over Whitmer, they brawled in the crowd, Whitmer put people to sleep, you know, the usual. CM Punk defeated AJ Styles to become the new IWA world champion. Match was really good went about 20 something minutes. Maybe it was just me, but something was missing from tonights show. I mean no disrespect as everyone worked hard & after four days in a row everyone was beat up, but something thigs didn't seem to be clickig with the crowd or something. I'm not sure exactly. Maybe it's because TPI was possibly the best show ever so anything that followed it is put in a tough spot.

I saw him at a wrestling show (no real name given for the group), and it was very clear that he wanted the match to be stopped about five minutes in because he couldn't feel his leg against BJ Whitmer. He's ridiculous.
Phoenix Fury Legdrop 0 Report post Posted October 24, 2004 (edited) Mike Wallace runs New Breed out in South Bend, which would explain all the New Breed merchandise (including a swank Best of Nigel McGuinness DVD), and yes, he is horrendous. Plus, the idiot was promoting one of his DVD's by repeatedly yelling "Come watch Crash Holly's last match!" Went to both the Lafayette and Highland shows...I honestly thought Lafayette was better. Everything at the Ann. Show seemed rushed, and it seemed like there was way too much filler. Plus, the finish of the final match kind of left a sour taste in my mouth, as the criticisms of IWA becoming "ROH Mid-South" are becoming more and more true. About the envelope...Fannin did say that it was "Ian's worst nightmare". Honestly, I think it's the return of Michael Todd Stratton and Bull Pain. I kept hearing people say that Fannin "sold his minority share to Jim Cornette", which would seriously be an awesome storyline, but literally impossible to do. Match of the weekend? Hmm...hard to pick. I did really dig GenNext & Nigel/Joe, Nate, and Ace, but I think I'm going to give that to Super Dragon/B-Boy from Friday, as it came off like they looked back at their Jersey J-Cup final and corrected most of the stuff wrong with it. Oh, and to prove I'm the coolest person on the earth, I won this swank IWA license plate on Friday night in Lafayette that had every wrestler from that night's autograph on it. Raffles rock. EDIT: I cannot put over the eight man tag from Lafayette enough. To draw a comparison, it was like a GenNext/Ebessan, Kamen, Nate, & Sal match. Between the heels having ten weapons between them to be taken away during frisking (including a WEIGHT BAR), Chris Candido being slammed by all four faces and Bryce Remsberg while bare-assed (Candido, not Bryce), and Jim Fannin showing off his breasteses, it reeked of hilarosity.
