Downhome 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2004 http://bloody-disgusting.com/index.php?Sho...mplate=newsfull http://www.latinoreview.com/interviews/raimionash.html I searched for the last thread that we had going on this, but I can't find it when I search for it for some reason. Just merge this thread with that one if one of you guys can dig it up. All I can say is oh well. The good news is that Sam says he plans to make another film with Ash in it one day, but I really wanted to see Ash/Freddy/Jason going at it. Sincerely, ...Downhome... B. Brian Brunzell 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2004 That's too bad. But seriously, who wants to see Freddy and Jason get their ASSES HANDED TO THEM by the almighty ASH~! anyway? Oh wait...I would.
Guest Dynamite Kido Report post Posted October 13, 2004 I admit that I really wanted to see the Freddy/Jason/Ash thing as well. But upon thinking about it.........I don't really know. It could have turned into something that really ruined ALL the characters involved. Hell, I'd take another Evil Dead anyday...................
Guest Mindless_Aggression Report post Posted October 13, 2004 The nerdy side of me liked the idea, but the side that likes good movies didn't. All of the Evil Dead movies are well done, not just good horror movies but well made films in general and I'd like to keep that up. The chances of that movie actually being good were slim to none honestly. However, I am saddened that I won't be able to attend the pandemonium that screening would have surely been. Guest JMA Report post Posted October 13, 2004 Man, this is disappointing. Oh well, at least we'll get another Evil Dead movie one of these days. And since Raimi stock has greatly risen with Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2, we'll probably get a sequel with great special effects and good marketing.
Guest The Decadent Slacker Report post Posted October 13, 2004 I'm not sure i'd want an Evil Dead with awesome special effects. The charm of low budget helped make the franchise, imo.
dubq 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2004 I don't really think it would've ruined the characters. I mean, the original movies are still there, there's nothing to take that away. If anything, it's the equivalent of putting Marvel characters into a video game with Capcom characters, or a DC Elseworlds comic.. nothing gets ruined, it's just another story. Big whoop. 2GOLD 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2004 It sounds like the problem was Sam/Rob never got to talk with Sean about the project since they were pressed for answers by the Hollywood Reporter. I admire he didn't want to just give them the rights to Ash without knowing in advance what they would be doing. It royally sucks though.
Downhome 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2004 Everyone, check out this IGN interview with Raimi. http://filmforce.ign.com/articles/556/556242p1.html
Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2004 I don't know if I can trust what directors say...just for example how much he loves Spider-Man blah blah blah I want to keep it going blah blah blah...didn't Bryan Singer say that same shit before bolting from X3?
Downhome 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2004 I can't blame Bryan Singer for that one. I mean, I know I'd ditch X-Men, not matter how much I love it, if I could become the guy to bring Superman to the big screen once again.
Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2004 I admit, he's a big man to try to do that, because if it flops, there will be hell for him to pay...
Guest Banders Kennany Report post Posted October 14, 2004 Nah I think Singer will keep getting good directing project after it flops.
Guest Banders Kennany Report post Posted October 14, 2004 Hey too bad they couldn't have Reeve for a cameo. That would've been a cool thing to see. I guess there's always Tom Welling or Kristien Kruek though.
Placebo Effect 0 Report post Posted October 14, 2004 I knew this wouldn't happen from the start. It just didn't seem plausible to market the Ash character in what was sure to be a $50 million+ budgeted movie.
