mike546 0 Report post Posted October 16, 2004 Derek Jeter Mariano Rivera Olerud Jeter, not yet. He's similar to Trammell, who isn't close to the Hall, but should be in. Sorry, maybe I should have made my Jeter question more specific. Lets say Jeter stays on the same pace hes on now for another 4-6 years. Is he in?

UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted October 16, 2004 Quote: "Shawn Green Marquis Grissom BJ Surhoff Ron Guidry Charles Nagy Matt Williams" NONE of them belong in the hall. My ask: Mariano Rivera? Postseason, so what. He's a fucking closer.

EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted October 16, 2004 How about Don Mattingly? I'm sure I covered Mattingly extensively at some point. He declined too quickly. How about David Wells? The weird thing about Wells is that he's very similar to Jaime Moyer. Both are low-strikeout low walk control pitchers in their early 40s. Wells is 212-136, and Moyer is 192-145. Wells isn't a HOF caliber pitcher, in my view.

EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted October 16, 2004 Randy Johnson Anyone who votes against him should have his/her BBWAA membership revoked. I don't remember if you did a Keltner's List for him, but what about the recently-retired Robin Ventura? Not a chance. Bobby Abreu, Vlad Guererro, and Omar Vizquel As much as I'd like to endorse him, Abreu is probably not having a HOF career. Vlad Guerrero should easily make the Hall if he maintains this career path. As for Vizquel, I dismissed him in depth... http://forums.thesmartmarks.com/index.php?...0entry1576503
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted October 16, 2004 Eric Gagne Not a chance. He needs to be an elite closer for another decade. Jay Buhner? Not a chance. How about Andres Galarraga? Just like Olerud and Grace, there are several first basemen who were better in this era. Todd Helton Edgar Martinez Javy Lopez Helton is having a HOF career. He needs to keep it going another 7-8 years. Edgar in my view is a HOFer. I've never seen Javy as a HOFer, but his four best age 33 comps are in, so he's got a chance. Gary Sheffield: Florida....he won his sole(As of now) World Series there. Mark McGwire: I'd say Oakland, St. Louis has an argument though. Mike Mussina: New York Manny Ramirez: Probably Boston.
