Anakin Flair 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2004 So I developed a passing interest in Farscape after the excellent series finale (note: that was sarcasm. For those of you that don't remember, the show ended after the two lead characters got engaged, then blown up.) Now they have been airing the entire series from start to finish over the last week leading up to the new Farscape mini-series this Sunday. So, any fans out there that will be watching? Or will anybody else give it a chance? And on a related note, what did all of you think of the show itself?
bobobrazil1984 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2004 FUck yeah I am! Best sci-fi show ever! John Crichton is the man. btw the series finale was excellent, no sarcasm on my end. If they'd dropped the "to be continued" tag, I thought it was the perrrrfect ending... it was just so... so Farscape.
Guest wrestlingbs Report post Posted October 17, 2004 Yeah I'm watching. My love for the show has tempered after it got cancelled, but I have to aggree it was the best scifi show during it's run. Great writing, great acting, great design. And the ending didn't piss me off so much as how Scifi canceled the show before it had a conclusion.

Great writing, great acting, great design. And the ending didn't piss me off so much as how Scifi canceled the show before it had a conclusion. That's what I meant. If it had been like Angel, where at least they had some more warning, they could have ended it a bit diferently so that, even if it was a cliffhanger, it wouldn't have left you hanging SO much. RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted October 18, 2004 I watch it occasionally, but I don't see anything overwhelmingly fantastic about it. I can see myself liking a lot once I buy the first season DVD, and I will... sometime... in the future, but as of right now I am just skimming the surface. Actually, I _just_ started downloading Season 1. Thanks Naitch!
bobobrazil1984 0 Report post Posted October 18, 2004 It was great, classic, with the trademark back and forth wit. Crichton remains my favorite sci-fi lead ever. :-) , but I'm afraid newcomers would be lost. There were just a TRUCKLOAD of references to events in the series, and it tied together a bunch, including the dangling Sebacean/Human/Arnesk connection. And I can't believe they killed Jool! *drops jaw* Can't wait till part

And I can't believe they killed Jool! *drops jaw* Can't wait till part 2 Well, foregoing normal spoilers, yeah that took me by surprise, both in her appearence and in her very quick death. Last time a main character died (Zan, and to a lesser extent Crais) that was a BIG deal. but I guess she's been gone for so long it had less importance. Other thoughts: *so THIS is Farscape with a good budget! Notice the already great FX improve tenfold with Scifi's backing. *You can tell they're trying to cram an entire fifth season of ideas into 4 hours. But I don't blame them. All in all it's going pretty smoothly. *Lot of people came back who I didn't think would. Not only main characters but secondary and teriary ones as well. *Rygal getting pregnant is so like this show. Completely senseless and yet definitely entertaining. Guest wrestlingbs Report post Posted October 19, 2004 Just finished watching the last part, and for those of you who missed it, it was the best ending to one of the best scifi shows made. GREAT way to end the story (mch better than how the seeries ended).
Anakin Flair 0 Report post Posted October 19, 2004 Holy shit. That death was unexpected. Great ending for the show, though I had thought that there would be more mini-series after this one. However, this did such a good job tying everything up, I don't know where they could go from here.

Just got the first tow eps on DVD today- maybe eventually I'll get whole seasons, but for now I think I'll just get odd DVD's and see how I like it. the mini-series rocked, though. However, this did such a good job tying everything up, I don't know where they could go from here. Yeah. I've read some of the FS fan Bboards and a suprising amount of fans STILL want the series to go on. While I am glad they brought Farscape back for one last hurrah, I think this is enough. You can only do so much with a story before it becomes cliched and mangled. Just look at the Star Trek franchise. While I want to see some well-scripted scifi like Farscape, I think the cast and crew have done enough and need a break. Regarding the ending, here are my thoughts: * Never thought they would kill off D'argo. I'm sure plenty of fan fiction writers are already thinking up ways to write him back in, but let's face it: he went out the best way they could have written it. * Speaking off deaths, Sikozu went out with the least bang of all the characters (even Harvey the evil imaginary friend). In fact, she faced a fate worse than death: off-scene death. But I'm sure she will be written back in by most fan fiction writers just like D'argo. * Really great acting job by Claudia Black and Brent Browder throughout the entire thing. They really deserve credit for carrying the show to new heights. *Brakka lives! All Smithers-impersonators of the world rejoice!
Vyce 0 Report post Posted October 19, 2004 I watch it occasionally, but I don't see anything overwhelmingly fantastic about it. I This angered me for a moment, and then I remembered that you're one of the Whedon fanboys, and my outrage was tempered by my pity for you.
bobobrazil1984 0 Report post Posted October 19, 2004 Man Part 2 was really incredibly EPIC, what an ending! One of the best endings ever. That final showdown was INTENSE.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted October 25, 2004 I finally watched and it was even better than I expected, and I've come to expect alot from this show. Great ending for a great show and perhaps the best ending for a TV show ever.
Positively Kanyon 0 Report post Posted October 27, 2004 I've watched Part 1. I was impressed with the effects and the story I suppose was good for Farscape fans, but I felt a bit lost. I have to agree with RRR, I don't think there is anything outstandingly great about Farscape. I think I'll stick with Stargate.
