haVoc 0 Report post Posted October 20, 2004 There was a dark match before the PPV... Before Taboo Tuesday, WWE held a dark match between Sgt. Slaughter and Muhammed Hussan (w/ Shawn Daivari), where Sarge won by DQ. Hussan got huge crowd heat during a pre-match promo about how they are Muslims just like all of us, and the crowd kicked in with a lot of USA chants. At one point, Daivari had Hussan pray on a carpet, resulting in more heat. The match ended when Daivari interfered with Sarge's camel clutch, although the ending looked awkward. KingPK 0 Report post Posted October 20, 2004 So they're doing the "tag team partners that are slapped together and win the titles even though they hate each other" thing again with Benoit and Edge? Well, it has been two years since they used it last, which in WWE terms seems like an eternity.

I know Vince wouldn't try to capitalize on the ignorance of his crowd, would he?
Guest GreatOne Report post Posted October 20, 2004 he's mentioning the inaugural Souled Out pay-per-view where it was full of shoddy production work and bad time mismanagement. Oh c'mon Souled Out was great in terms of bringin the funny................ OK stupid funny at times..................... True fact, in early '97 Nitro was on on Sunday in Canada. So when Bischoff, Hall, and Nash did the 'We had a match here once/Oh yeah I was thinking about that while watching that mess of a PPV last night' (referring to Royal Rumble), if one didn't know if it was from the previous Monday, they'd think he was talking about Souled Out (felt like Lance Storm for a minute there)

slimm44 0 Report post Posted October 21, 2004 Didn't know where to put this, but Jimmy Kimmel tonight, Wednesday night-thursday morning, responded to the comments made by Lawler and JR. He brought up his comment he made, then showed clips of the cage match at the PPV. After showing the clips Kimmel stated depite his comments, Flair still lost. Seriously, they are taking this a bit too seriously, just like the comments he made about Detroit making the NBA Finals or whatever. He is a comedian, he makes jokes. People make mistakes

Hell, they're probably trying to get a Lawler/Kimmel or Flair/Kimmel match cookin'

I'd much rather see a Ben Stein/Ric Flair match for some reason. Think about how opposite the promos would be from each other.
