Brian Carlucci has inked a WWE developmental deal.

He was one of the final 50 taking part in the Tough Enough

trials this past weekend in California. A well-placed source

told me: "As Brian was finishing the obstacle course, he tore

a bicep and a pectoral muscle, but still finished the course.

The (WWE) team was so moved by this that they offered him

a developmental contract." Carlucci is well known on the

indy circuit as "The Spartan Swinger" and previously trained

under Les Thatcher at the Heartland Wrestling Association.

He will be relocating to Ohio Valley Wrestling in Louisville, KY.

On a related note, Shaun Ricker who wrestles as "Deuce"

for the HWA has been selected as the first alternate for Tough

Enough. This means that if anyone drops out due to injury, as

they have done in the past, Ricker will be called up to appear

on the show. The Tough Enough finalists will begin training this

weekend at Trax in Stamford, CT.

More notes from my email rag here....

Just wanted to post this at TSM first before Meltzer and others pick up on it...

I'd perfer for those guys to continue working ****+ matches instead of 5 minute Velocity Squashes.

Mick Foley said on Observer Live that when he told Vince about him appearing in ROH, Vince asked that he keep him posted on talent that could move up to the next level. Foley did supposedly tell Vince about CM Punk and Samoa Joe.

I always saw CM Punk with the highest chance in the WWE than anyone else on the circuit.

They would ruin Punk's Character...Punk would refuse to sign unless every match is 25 minutes or more.

They encourage people to continue matches when they are seriously injured. Big Rockstar think that`s insane.

Just like when Triple H continued wrestling and Jericho almost crippled him the Lion tamer on the announcer table.

I heard a rumour that Scott Putsky wasnt rehired because he stop wrestling when he tore his thight at Ground Zero.

:bonk:

They are professionals, Most all wrestlers will try to finish the match as best as possible.

Shawn worked a match injured as serious as he was tonight before, so he was used to it.

Gowan wasn't a sympathy contract, Gowan was a corrupt circus act ploy by Vince.

He'd have to leave the Pepsi Plunge behind though.

Not necessarily, they'd probably demote it to Pepsi EDGE level with full entertainment and 50% less impact. Maybe turn it into a double-arm underhook crotch sleeper.

Yeah, we all remember his iron man matches in TNA...

But I agree that WWE would totally ruin his character.

what's his character?

Punk is "straight edge". He doesn't smoke, drink, do drugs, etc. He had a great feud with Raven in ROH where he hated Raven because he said Raven wasted his life on drugs, alcohol, rats, etc. I think Punk could get the easy cheap heat in the WWE by saying he doesn't drink and that's he's better than anyone who does, etc. Punk's real strength is in his promos, because he's one of the best in the indies at them...and he's a pretty damn solid worker too.

WWE would make CM Punk a member of RTC V2 with Stevie, Conway, Val Venis.

NO WAY is Rob Conway stooping to the levels of Venis and Richards.
