RavishingRickRudo Posted October 23, 2004 Author Report Posted October 23, 2004 I am really liking Mir on colour here.
RavishingRickRudo Posted October 23, 2004 Author Report Posted October 23, 2004 Is it a coincidence that Franklins nickname is "Ace"?
RavishingRickRudo Posted October 23, 2004 Author Report Posted October 23, 2004 Rivera/Franklin, really good rd 1. NICE high kick from Franklin.
RavishingRickRudo Posted October 23, 2004 Author Report Posted October 23, 2004 Franklin looks tired.
RavishingRickRudo Posted October 23, 2004 Author Report Posted October 23, 2004 Pretty big mouse under Frankins left eye.
the pinjockey Posted October 23, 2004 Report Posted October 23, 2004 Damn, Franklin has quite the mouse growing under his left eye.
RavishingRickRudo Posted October 23, 2004 Author Report Posted October 23, 2004 I said it before you AND Mir
RavishingRickRudo Posted October 23, 2004 Author Report Posted October 23, 2004 Whew. Franklin via Armbar round 3. This was a really good fight that told a great story.
RavishingRickRudo Posted October 23, 2004 Author Report Posted October 23, 2004 Does this chick have an earpiece, cause she's actually surprisingly good. Keep her.
RavishingRickRudo Posted October 23, 2004 Author Report Posted October 23, 2004 They've done a pretty good job hyping this fight during the show. I mean, I actually wanna see this fight. TOM COCHRANE?!?!??! YEAH!!!! Cote looks so happy to be there. "Bad Boy for life"? Fitting, but shitty. I miss Break Stuff.
RavishingRickRudo Posted October 23, 2004 Author Report Posted October 23, 2004 How is Cote not busted open? Holy shit, he's taking tons of elbows and looks pretty fucking good.
RavishingRickRudo Posted October 23, 2004 Author Report Posted October 23, 2004 Jesus Christ, Tito is a dirty, dirty fighter. There must be candy in Cotes eyes, cause he's stickin his fingers in there tryin to get some.
the pinjockey Posted October 23, 2004 Report Posted October 23, 2004 Is it safe to say Tito's stock just died tonight? Cote barely looks hurt, Tito never even stunned him, and Tito commit crime numero uno [he was boring as fuck].
RavishingRickRudo Posted October 23, 2004 Author Report Posted October 23, 2004 Zzzzz The only bad fight of the night, Cote should be happy to go the distance, but he should have done more with the opportunities he had at the start of each round.
Slickster Posted October 23, 2004 Report Posted October 23, 2004 I was disappointed and surprised at Tito's performance; one would think that a prelim guy would be a significantly easier opponent than Cote was. Do you think Tito lost a step or did UFC simply pick a *really good* prelim guy?
RavishingRickRudo Posted October 23, 2004 Author Report Posted October 23, 2004 I think Tito was expecting Cote to either get cut or give up after the "thrashing" he was giving him, but Cote can take a shot and his skin must be made of some sort of rubber, because Tito wasn't really able to phase him. He uses the same gameplan as Randy Couture, and it's pretty boring.
Lei Tong Posted October 23, 2004 Report Posted October 23, 2004 The big difference between Tito & Randy's G&P, at least last night, was positioning. Randy never gets stuck in someone's guard too long, and is constantly look for a better position to make up for his less damaging G&P. On the other hand, though Tito can throw harder from up top, wasnt improving his positioning for shit, content to let Cote re-establish guard over and over and simply hump away in Patrick's guard. Definitely a very dissapointing fight from Tito.
RavishingRickRudo Posted October 23, 2004 Author Report Posted October 23, 2004 By "game plan" I mean "take down, put against fence, wait until ref or cut stoppage", rather than going for a KO or Tap Out. That strategy relies a lot on how much punishment the opponent can take, and Cote can take a lot.
