Bored 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2004 So last night on Election Night we had a game in Ohio between a red team and a blue team that was close and decided in the final minutes but was eventually won by the red team. See a MAC football game decided the election! Anyways tonight South Florida ended up crushing UAB after scoring 35 unanswered points, including 28 in the 4th, to erase a 20-10 deficit. I know you call care.

2GOLD 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2004 Why were the stands empty for UAB vs South Florida?
yankovic fan 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2004 Students had class this morning, so they went to bed early. I am still bitter at South Florida. My I-AA school almost beat them last year, but a few questionable calls cost us the game (aside from being over matched my a I-A team). We blocked Santiago Grammatica 3 times in that game. Later I spoke to someone from the defense and he said "That had to be the worst kicker I've played agaisnt so far since getting in college." Anyway, we were sitting even with the goal line. It was fourth and 2. The coach decided to go balls out and go for it. The RB broke past the chains to the one yard line. The ref picked the ball up, put it back on the other side the chain, and motioned a turnover on downs. USF held on from that point. Anyway, I'm sure I'll get over it eventually. Crimson Platypus 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2004 Hoping my Spartans can bounce back after that tough 3 OT loss last week, and the loss of Drew Stanton, possibly for the season...
Bored 0 Report post Posted November 5, 2004 Louisville edges Memphis in a thriller 56-49. There were ten lead changes and they combined for over 1200 yards. D'Angelo Williams rushed for 205 yards in the loss.
cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted November 5, 2004 Yeah boy. U of L manages to hold off Memphis's best effort of the year tonight and get the payback. Thus, U of L has now beaten Memphis and S. Florida and the 3rd payback from last year is next week when we'll stomp the shit out of TCU. I'm bitter about that Miami game, particularly when a team U of L crushed 34-0 (UNC) actually beat the Canes. It was funny someone mentioned that UAB/S. FL game from last night. I watched some of that. I remember hearing about UAB QB Darrell Hackney saying "Louisville better be glad they don't play us this year, they don't want none." Then UAB went out and lost to friggin TULANE and now South Florida by 25. Keep in mind U of L beat S. FL 41-9 recently. Trust me Hackney, you don't want none. phoenixrising 0 Report post Posted November 5, 2004 I just found it funny how both Herbstreit and Corso were begging for the defenses to throw in some zone after Louisville went into the half up 35-33. Louisville just pounded Memphis down in the second half, it probably wouldn't have been that dramatic had they remembered to master the quarterback/halfback exchange. Fun game to watch especially if you like offense.
cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted November 6, 2004 U of L is a schitzo team defensively. At times this year they've been brilliant (UNC, UK, USF). But man some teams like Miami and Memphis have just trashed them. I sorta suspect that U of L doesn't have much in the way of a secondary considering Brock Berlin and friggin DANNY WIMPRINE lit them up.

therealworldschampion 0 Report post Posted November 6, 2004 On the CBS pregame show, its been reported by sources that if Auburn can run through their schedule undefeated and get to within 20 points of Oklahoma in the polls, they're likely to get the computers' votes and pass Oklahoma and go to the Orange Bowl. Bored 0 Report post Posted November 6, 2004 Please anything related to Oklahoma let's keep it in the other thread. Lots of bonus coverage on ESPN2 right now. First had Pittsburgh/Syracuse that is going to overtime and on right now is Arkansas/South Carolina. Hogs have taken a 32-28 lead with three minutes left. therealworldschampion 0 Report post Posted November 6, 2004 Ah ok, I thought that post would be more about Auburn having a shot at the Orange Bowl.
iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted November 6, 2004 You should be able to talk about other teams in here. Just because Oklahoma's a big part of the chase for the Orange Bowl doesn't mean that general chat about who's gonna get to the Orange Bowl has to be in the special OU thread. iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted November 6, 2004 On another note, I'm kind of surprised how Cal's secondary is getting burned by Oregon. Their defense has looked impenetrable pretty much all year, and now they look like the friggin Cougars out there. And talk about deja vu. That Cal fumble on the kickoff was straight out of the WSU/USC game last week.

Bored 0 Report post Posted November 6, 2004 Don't look now Oregon goes up 27-14 on Cal in the 2nd. Kellen Clemens with four touchdown passes already. Cal answers and cuts it back to 27-21. Cincinnati is pummeling Southern Miss 31-10. Nebraska has cut Iowa State's lead to seven with five minutes to go.
Der Kommissar 0 Report post Posted November 6, 2004 Cincinnati confuses me. A few weeks back, they took a fairly embarrassing loss to Army(48-29), yet since then they have mauled a pretty good Memphis team(49-10), gained a comfortable win over TCU(21-10), and are rolling over Southern Miss(31-10). I guess they took the Army loss to heart and out to prove themselves. It looks like they are doing a pretty good job of that these past three weeks.
therealworldschampion 0 Report post Posted November 6, 2004 Erik Ainge is out of the Tennessee/Notre Dame game with a separated shoulder. Rick Clausen(Casey's brother) is now the QB for Tennessee.
Bored 0 Report post Posted November 6, 2004 Iowa State hangs on to beat Nebraska and as of right now the Cyclones control their own destiny to go the Big XII title game. Think about that. They have a chance to go to a BCS game or not go to a bowl game at all.
