Damaramu 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2004 So wait........Tennessee lost. Does that mean that they aren't going to the SEC title game?
Slayer 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2004 This essentially gives Georgia a clear path into the conference title game
Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2004 No it doesn't. Tennessee is still #1 in the SEC East. This loss was non-conference. Â 'Sides, Georgia's going to get raped next week anyway.
Bored 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2004 Yes Tennesse is still pretty much a lock for the SEC title game with Kentucky and Vanderbilt all that is left on their schedule. All today's loss meant is they have to win the SEC title game to go to a BCS bowl as their chances for an at large bid went out the door today. Â Notre Dame all but locks up the Gator Bowl with today's win. Â It's really annoying when Fox Sports uses home announcers for national telecasts. Watching Stanford/Arizona State and all the announcers can do is lick ASU's nuts even though they are losing. Â Texas is getting their ass kicked by Oklahoma State right now, 28-7. Damaramu 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2004 So who else thinks ASU was overrated?
Der Kommissar 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2004 It looks like Ok. St is crushing Texas 28-7. I never get the hard on the polls have for Texas. It's like the other day, I was watching a game, and the announcers were complaining about how Utah hasn't beaten anybody, thus they shouldn't be considered for a BCS Bowl. They proceed to pump up Texas, despite the fact that other than a win over Texas Tech, I can't find any win that even looks remotely impressive on the schedule. Wins over a fading Missouri? A struggling Arkansas team? A bunch of random jobbers and Baylor? Wow! Somebody get them a BCS bid, pronto!
therealworldschampion 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2004 So who else thinks ASU was overrated?  *Sees Texas getting whipped by OSU*  So much for OU's win over an "elite" team  Edit: Ah this should've went in the OU thread, could someone move this there? therealworldschampion 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2004 What does that have to do with ASU being overrated? It has NOTHING to do with it. Â ASU just took the lead in their game, and no one is more of an example of the term "overrated" than Texas.
therealworldschampion 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2004 Mississippi State has scored a TD to get within 3 of Alabama. If the Bulldogs win, I imagine Alabama fans will be all over the athletic department for hiring Mike Shula over Sylvester Croom.

Damaramu 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2004 What does that have to do with ASU being overrated? It has NOTHING to do with it. Â ASU just took the lead in their game, and no one is more of an example of the term "overrated" than Texas. Yes they are. But it still has nothing to do with ASU. If you think I was taking a jab at USC for beating ASU I wasn't.
Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2004 I was at the Virginia/Maryland game. It wasn't even really close. If this is the team that shows up against Miami next week, the Cavs have a serious chance. Â Georgia Tech defeats NC State, knocking the Wolfpack to 4-5 and putting them in big-time danger of missing a bowl game. Ouch.
Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2004 Some more thoughts: oh my god the Big XII North is awful. Whoever wins the division will most likely have 4 losses. It seems very, very possible that the division winner could be 6-5. Yuck. Â And speaking of the Big XII, Texas has looked absolutely incredible the last quarter and change. It's now 42-35 Longhorns. They're playing perfect football, and while I still don't think they're #6 in the nation good, they're making an argument for it.
Bored 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2004 Damnit Stanford's bowl hopes go down the drain as ASU scores with nine seconds left to win the game. The hail mary at the end of the first half was just a killer. Stanford wasn't expected to do much but this season become a real dissapointment with all the promise early in the season but three tough losses that they could have won (Notre Dame, Oregon, and now tonight) have ended their hopes. They can still be bowl eligible by winning their final two games but that includes winning the Big Game against Cal and you can forget that. Â With UCLA being upset by Wazzu today there is a real chance the Pac-10 will only have four bowl eligible teams. The conference is just too damn even after you get past USC and Cal.
