Guest The Last Free Voice Report post Posted November 8, 2004 Nash being impressed with AJ is a good thing. Maybe he won't totally no sell him. Everything else? Meh.

Guest LooneyTune Report post Posted November 8, 2004 Hogan and Savage talked...without punching each other in the face?! I guess Savage wussed out on beating Hogan up, although it's nice to see Brian Knobbs replaced Ed Leslie as Hogan's lap dog.
Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted November 8, 2004 I have a feeling that Nash won't be impressed when it comes time to do the J-O-B for Styles. Unless, of course, Nash is impressed with Styles in that "hey, we'll need a little guy on our side, just like we used to have with Waltman" sorta way. Guest Donners Report post Posted November 8, 2004 That's an interesting ME. IF and I mean IF Hall and Nash try to give Styles and especially Brown some sort of rub, they could really benefit.
TheBigSwigg 0 Report post Posted November 8, 2004 It would be interesting to see Hogan vs. Savage down the line. Not because it would be a good match, but because Savage has talked shit for soooo long that something needs to happen. This way, everyone loses. Just like TNA wants. Unless most of the people bought tickets right before the event...I heard a couple days ago they were having trouble selling tickets for the show.
Stephen 0 Report post Posted November 8, 2004 I remember reading that Sean Waltman was impressed with AJ Styles, so it does not surprise me that nash would also be. I'm all for hall & nash in tna if they give AJ the rub.

Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted November 9, 2004 I remember reading that Sean Waltman was impressed with AJ Styles, so it does not surprise me that nash would also be. I'm all for hall & nash in tna if they give AJ the rub. Waltman WAS impressed with AJ, and the two matches they had made me like Waltman again. He busted his ass in the ring with him, sold all over the place for him, and even did a somersault plancha, which is something he hadn't done in, oh...6 years at that point? If Nash/Hall give AJ the rub, and Jarrett/Jarrett/Dutch finally decide to push AJ as the focus of the show? I'll start watching again. Now, all we need is for Hall and Truth to become pals, and hang out all the time, so that way Truth can get his just deserves.

Unfortunately, Corey, that isn't very likely to happen. I'd say we're looking at a good 6 month reign for Monty before someone like Raven dethrones him. I'm looking forward to that because Monty is growing on me and it will signify TNA attempting to create a new star and whille firmly establishing a new main eventer. He will be only the 5th man in the history of the company to hold the belt (along with Shamrock, Truth, Jarrett and Styles). Anyway, I think we're going to see Styles playing Bret Hart 95, where the most talented worker in the company feuds with a variety of people, delivering awesome matches, but kept away from the top of the card. It made me almost want to see Waltman on a regular basis because he was working that hard in the match. I don't think he had been that motivated since at least 1995. I don't think he had been that motivated since at least 1995. I agree too. Many people groaned when Waltman won the X-belt, but that with the sole purpose of putting AJ over, and he didn't groan about it at all. He went out of his way to make Styles look like a million bucks.
TNABaddboi 0 Report post Posted November 9, 2004 Here's more notes: Hulk Hogan was said to have been very friendly with the boys backstage at the TNA PPV, while Randy Savage sequestered himself from everyone. Savage came to the PPV with Bryan Adams (last seen in Kronik in WCW) who was the tour manager of Savage's rap CD tour. Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer reported that Diamond Dallas Page is scheduled to debut today at the Impact! taping in Orlando, Florida. A number of the TNA wrestlers went to Universal Studios' Islands of Adventure in Orlando to relax on their day off. The feeling about the PPV was that it was the first show that came off as an "event" as opposed to just another show. The fact that over 500 fans paid for the weekend package gave the wrestlers a big boost in the arm as well mentally. Our good friends over at www.WrestlingFigs.com interviewed AJ Styles at TNA Interaction this past weekend, showing him the prototype for his Toy Biz action figure. They will be posting video clips of the Styles interview later this week. TNA has put the opening video from the Victory Road PPV online on their website. It's worth checking out, which you can at this link. Jeff Hardy stayed well beyond his scheduled time to sign for fans at TNA's Interaction. The word going around among the wrestlers is that the edited version of the Best Damned Sports Show specials look awesome. They will air this Wednesday and Thursday evening on the Fox Sports Network. I know that there is a good portion of the readership reading this that is cold to TNA as a product (for justifiable reasons like the ROH situation and other things that have gone down), but everyone should make sure they tune into the specials this week. Even if you dislike TNA, the health of the industry desperately needs a competitor to step to the plate and force WWE to work harder creatively. A good showing could lead to TNA getting a more prominent position on Fox Sports (some internally believe possibly even Monday nights) and would give a hard working crew of wrestlers (who I will be the first to say aren't booked correctly much of the time) a fighting chance to survive and make a living in the business. All the complaints of a crappy timeslot for Impact! and the price of Victory Road don't wash this week. It's primetime and it's free. Watch the show because even if you watch and hate it in the end and never want to spend a dime on TNA, you've already helped to support their wrestlers and the industry as a whole. Credit: PWInsider.com That attendance figure is great for TNA. And I couldn't agree with Johnson more on the specials.

Ppl still have hope for a Raven reign? To paraphrase vkm "who the fuck would give raven the title?"
TNABaddboi 0 Report post Posted November 9, 2004 Here's more notes: Quite a few TNA staffers were marveling this weekend about how hard Dixie Carter worked during the TNA Interaction and PPV events. Despite being about 7 months pregnant, Carter was all over the place at Interaction including helping to set up the merchandise stand, then played host to Hulk Hogan during most of the Victory Road PPV. The feeling was that she was working as hard as ever. One person who saw Hulk Hogan's meeting with Randy Savage said that Hogan tried to smooth things over and say he had Savage's back and Savage responded with a comment blowing him off. Raven has a new commentary up on his website www.TheRavenEffect.com, discussing the evolution and creation of the Raven character. He notes that he feels that other than Mick Foley, he's the only person who's created a three-dimensional character while so many others are based around cookie cutter caricatures. He makes a good case for that theory. Raven also discusses Hulk Hogan and sends a very weird message to Stevie Richards, which reads like an in-joke of some sort. Dusty Rhodes is scheduled to appear on the Best Damned Sports Show tonight on the Fox Sports Network. The show is heavily pushing the TNA specials hard with a great commercial. They are dubbing them "The Best Damned Wrestling Special Ever." Credit: PWInsider.com
