King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted November 9, 2004 Wrestling Supershow to Mark TWC Anniversary The world's first interpromotional pro-wrestling Supershow is set to mark the anniversary of The Wrestling Channel in March 2005. This wrestling extravaganza, to be held in the Coventry Skydome, is the latest in a line of groundbreaking initiatives by TWC. In March 2004, The Wrestling Channel (TWC - sky 427) became the first company in the world to launch a dedicated pro-wrestling TV channel, featuring 20 of the top wrestling promotions in the world. In July 2004 (just four months later), TWC were first again, when they commissioned the world's first unbiased news/talk show dedicated to pro-wrestling - The Bagpipe Report with Blake Norton. Just three months later, TWC launched the world's second dedicated pro-wrestling channel - TWC Reloaded (sky 428). Now, to mark it's anniversary of new innovations in Pro-Wrestling, The Wrestling Channel are attempting something that has never been done before, bringing to the UK the absolute hottest show the world has ever seen. On March 19th 2005, Coventry Skydome will play host to the first ever TWC Supershow and the world's first ever interpromotional supershow, featuring the top promotions and wrestlers from around the globe – ROH, CZW, TNA, NJPW, NOAH, FWA, World of Sport, and much more. Tickets go on sale exclusively at the FWA British Uprising III event (Nov 13th @ The Coventry Skydome), and the first big name for the TWC supershow will be announced. Tickets will then go on sale to the general public on Friday December 10th. No actual talent has been confirmed yet, but already there's unofficial rumours of Kobashi coming over to defend his title. Sounds exciting either way. Hopefully it'll hold up, especially with Smackdown and Raw tapings planned around the same sort of time-frame if I understand correctly. And as it says above, anyone going to British Uprising can pick up tickets for the show early.
Guest The Last Free Voice Report post Posted November 9, 2004 Sounds cool. But Damn you Brits for getting TWC, leaving us Americans out in the cold.
Slickster 0 Report post Posted November 9, 2004 Wow, this could be historic. Like 'Showdown at Shea' or 'Superbowl of Wrestling' historic.
Guest JebusNassedar Report post Posted November 9, 2004 ....hm. Fascinating indeed. There was talk about Doug Williams being a challenger for the GHC Heavyweight title. His next opponent (Akitoshi Saito) has been determined....perchance the show will have Kobashi/Williams? It would sure as hell draw the puro fanbase. Either way, that's just awesome stuff. DCMaximo 0 Report post Posted November 13, 2004 Well I'm making the journey from Nottingham back to Coventry this weekend for the FWA, I'd damn sure make it down for that too. Reminds me of the time that some wannabe promoter booked some wrestling supershow in 2001 at the SkyDome, featuring Corino, Vampiro, Juvi, Hennig etc before it turned out he had no intention of booking a show and had just made off with a lot of money

Guest Pariah Report post Posted November 14, 2004 Hopefully they'll redo the seating plan used for BUIII because it was pretty awful and a lot of floor space not used
