Guest Shutterspeed Posted November 13, 2004 Report Posted November 13, 2004 Hey, they actually look half right for the part in that shot. That's not to say that their acting is the same.
Guest El Satanico Posted November 13, 2004 Report Posted November 13, 2004 I see only one problem...Jessica Simpson :shudders: Hopefully her film career ends as quickly as Pamela Anderson's
Guest Shutterspeed Posted November 13, 2004 Report Posted November 13, 2004 Holy shit, that's Jessica Simpson? The movie's been written-off already.
Guest El Satanico Posted November 13, 2004 Report Posted November 13, 2004 I've also written the movie off, due to the blonde of doom. Such a pity too, cause I liked the casting for Bo and Luke. The only way to save it now, is if Vance and Coy show up.
razazteca Posted November 13, 2004 Report Posted November 13, 2004 So does anybody know what the full cast is?
Slayer Posted November 13, 2004 Report Posted November 13, 2004 I didn't think it was so bad after seeing the first pic with all three cast members, thinking that if they concentrate on, yanno, the actual Dukes of Hazzard and not you-know-who, that it wouldn't be a problem Then I got greeted by that second picture...
Guest El Satanico Posted November 13, 2004 Report Posted November 13, 2004 Seann William Scott .... Bo Duke Johnny Knoxville .... Luke Duke Jessica Simpson .... Daisy Duke Burt Reynolds .... Boss Hogg Willie Nelson .... Uncle Jesse Simpson is the only problem I have with this cast.
Guest Shutterspeed Posted November 13, 2004 Report Posted November 13, 2004 I like that the director, Jay Chandrasekhar, is involved with Kevin Smith. He directed Super Troopers too.
razazteca Posted November 13, 2004 Report Posted November 13, 2004 But what about the real stars of the show, Roscoe P. Coletrain, Enis, Mrs. Hogg?
Guest El Satanico Posted November 13, 2004 Report Posted November 13, 2004 The director also works on Arrested Development, so there may be some hope, lets just hope Daisy's role is smaller than her shorts.
Vern Gagne Posted November 13, 2004 Report Posted November 13, 2004 Seann William Scott .... Bo Duke Johnny Knoxville .... Luke Duke Jessica Simpson .... Daisy Duke Burt Reynolds .... Boss Hogg Willie Nelson .... Uncle Jesse Simpson is the only problem I have with this cast. Burt Reynolds and Willie Nelson? Sorry it doesn't work for me. I'll always picture the fat guy in a white suite, and the fat guy with the white beard.
Guest El Satanico Posted November 13, 2004 Report Posted November 13, 2004 I have nothing against Burt or Willie in this...it's not bad casting, it's just different. Yes Burt's skinny and Boss was fat, but I can see Burt playing the character well. If need be, Burt can wear a fat suit like the original Boss. I never considered Uncle Jesse to be a "fat guy" and if Willie grows a beard he'll be just fine.
Guest Evolution Posted November 13, 2004 Report Posted November 13, 2004 Jessica's out of place but the Duke boys seem to fit their parts, especially Seann William Scott as Bo. I, too, am wondering about Roscoe P. Coltrane and Enos.
starvenger Posted November 13, 2004 Report Posted November 13, 2004 I see only one problem...Jessica Simpson :shudders: Hopefully her film career ends as quickly as Pamela Anderson's Daisy was really in there for eye candy purposes, so I think Jessica fits the bill there. Except... Daisy wasn't exactly blonde, right? The only problem with Burt Reynolds is that I keep seeing Norm as Burt Reynolds. Funny yes, reality no.
The Amazing Rando Posted November 13, 2004 Report Posted November 13, 2004 Seann William Scott .... Bo Duke Johnny Knoxville .... Luke Duke Jessica Simpson .... Daisy Duke Burt Reynolds .... Boss Hogg Willie Nelson .... Uncle Jesse Simpson is the only problem I have with this cast. It would work great if Burt played Boss in a similiar manner to the way Gleason played Justice. Because I just am having Smokey & The Bandit flashbacks right now. East bound and down...
Vern Gagne Posted November 13, 2004 Report Posted November 13, 2004 The only problem with Burt Reynolds is that I keep seeing Norm as Burt Reynolds. Funny yes, reality no. I'm picturing the actual Burt Reynolds from movies like Cannonball run where he'd be chewing gum and laughing the entire time.

I'm picturing the actual Burt Reynolds from movies like Cannonball run where he'd be chewing gum and laughing the entire time. That's pretty much Norm's take on it, except (naturally) more over-the-top. He does a great Turd Ferguson...
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted November 13, 2004 Report Posted November 13, 2004 I see only one problem...Jessica Simpson :shudders: Hopefully her film career ends as quickly as Pamela Anderson's She's going to bounce around in cutoffs and maybe hold a phallic symbol in a few scenes. Perfect casting.
dubq Posted November 13, 2004 Report Posted November 13, 2004 Who cares if Jessica Simpson is the resident piece of redneck TnA? It's obviously going to be a comedy in the vein of the Starsky & Hutch movie with Stiller and Wilson, look at the rest of the cast, and get over it already.
2GOLD Posted November 13, 2004 Report Posted November 13, 2004 Sean..William...Scott. Christ, there went this movie. The best performance of his career was dying in Final Destination. The guy is about as unfunny as one man can be. Knoxville looks surprisingly accurate from a distance but dear GOD does Scott and Simpson look out of place as hell. That goofy grin of his is the downfall of the entire picture.

Guest thebigjig Posted November 14, 2004 Report Posted November 14, 2004 And I can't really tell, but does it look like they removed the Confederate flag from the top of the Gen. Lee?

No. But people who don't royally SUCK could have been found. Knoxville looks good from a distance and he's not a horrible actor. So he's fine and dandy. Simpson, she doesn't look the part although no question she'll look good in the shorts which is all they were aiming for I'd bet. Sean William Scott doesn't look the part and brings nothing to the table other than his ability to royally kill any amount of funny.
Guest thebigjig Posted November 14, 2004 Report Posted November 14, 2004 I was hoping Bo and Luke would be played by Tom Hanks and Sir Ian Holm
Guest Evolution Posted November 14, 2004 Report Posted November 14, 2004 I thought Seann William Scott was pretty good in The Rundown, myself. But as mentioned before, you can't be expecting much from this movie since it is indeed going to be like Starsky & Hutch. If they can find some good actors for Roscoe P. Coltrane and Enos, though, I'll be one happy camper. And taking the confederate flag off the General E. Lee would be so terrible.
