So, what happened with the SD SurSer team situation?  ?

Huge waste of the time of everyone involved.

But it was OLD SKEWL or something, so people are willing to let it slide.

Tell him about our semantics debate, it was better than the match!

POOKY BEARS 4 EVAH!

Sounds like the show was middle of the road, apprently the CW and the IC title matches were good and really good. though the consensus was that 'Taker/Reich killed the crowd and went long and Booker made JBL look good.

Haven't really heard a general opinion of the Main.

WHAT WORKED

- Nice lil CW match to start things off. Good pacing as they didn't blow all their spots in once sequence. Funny how Kidman is a heel but the entire place was on their feet when he went for the SSP. Rey's hurracanrana to Kidman on the apron popped my theatre like a ma'fucka. Spike's goatee is so much better then Snitsky's.

- The Snitsky/Heidenreich confrontation. The whole thing. Comic gold.

- Christians new music and jacket/hoodie combo rocked bells. Solid match with Benjamin giving the performance that made him PPV MVP for me. The slingshot reverse suplex was fuckin' hot.

- Heidenreich's punches are really nice.

- The extended camera shots of Trish's cleavage.

WHAT DIDNT

- Cena and Big Show do absolutely nothing for a match that was absolutely nothing. Way to use Cena correctly.

- Despite JBL bumping like a freak Booker and him never gelled together well enough to make any kind of a good match. My theatre popped way too hard for Josh Matthews.

- What was the point of that Maven angle? Oh, right. Snitsky vs Maven. Joy.

- Benoit and Batista are eliminated before Maven which makes me cry.

- Orton's pose is one of the worst in a long time. He catches heel heat everytime he does it and those boo's will only continue.

- The RAW match started off well enough but fell apart pretty much after Batista was eliminated. This "Stone Cold Orton" thing is starting to get annoying.

Ortons pose is like something you'll do in a Shakespearian play...which is obviously a bad thing because most wrestling fans would think of plays as wussy stuff unless someone is murdered or T&A are shown.

Yeah I was disappointed Show didn't get eliminated since his ankle was injured. He should have tapped.

remember HHH's Arching back thing he did as a face?

That was worst then Orton's "I'm god" pose.

It's not just the pose, it's the fact that he'll do it for no reason. It's like he wants a reward or something.

They need a heel to do a skit where they mock Orton. That'd be hilarious.

Just came back from Gund Arena . . . nothing happened after the show went off the air. Orton just hi fived some ringsiders and left.

As for the show, well, my buddy and I were talking about the Snitsky/Heidenreich confrontation most of the way home which says something about the rest of the show.

While it did not aspire to suck, it's safe to say that for a "Big 4" ppv, it was lackluster.

Shakespeare would be cenored or banned today. His plays were full of sex and violence.

That's what I figured going in. Some of the matches looked solid (though the SD SS match being bad was a disappointment), but without a big angle or surprise or anything I figured it would kind of be one of those "eh" PPVs.

Match by match thoughts:

Cruiser 4 way - Good stuff. The extended dive sequence was fun, especially Spike missing everybody. The crowd was way into the nearfalls and move teases at the end. Match of the night.

Benjamin/Orton - Probably the best either can do against opponents of their own caliber. Crowd was way into Benjamin as he kept fighting back at the end. Liked the finish.

Smackdown 8 man - Weak. Nothing really happened, at all. All I can remember is Kurt bumping into Show and feeling his face and getting an "oh shit" look and the finish. Not good.

Heidenreich vs Taker - Terrible. Roam around ring, brawl, roam around ring, brawl, etc, big finish. Terrible.

Trish/Lita - Lita is such a whore.

Bradshaw/Booker T - Never went anywhere. They just didn't build. The whole match was one big, extended, nothing. Not offensive like Taker/Heidenreich, but not good. At all.

Raw 8 man - Not as bad as the SD 8 man, but still bad. Again, never built or went anywhere. Orton vs Edge/HHH was reduced to 5 minutes of nothing. Pretty weak stuff. Benoit did nothing but a couple suplexes, Jericho did nothing at all, Maven did nothing, Batista did nothing, and Snitsky only used the chair. Just a pointless match that could have done something with the heels arguing, but instead was reduced to Batista and Snitsky arguing and then forgotten.

Best match: Cruisers, around ** or so. Shitty show.

+ Benjamin. Fun spots throughout showcasing Benjamins athletic ability. The kip-up spots were great. The slingshot reverse suplex is, like, the spot of the year. He needs a better finisher.

+ Jackets. Kidmans, Christians, and Bradshaws. All fabulous in their own ways.

+ Psychic Rudo. "Do you think we'll get a head-to-head Snitsky and Batista moment in the match", "Keylock" (Taker match), "Soup bones".

- Taker/Heidenreich going 45 minutes. What? It wasn't 45 minutes?

- Heidenreich's moveset.

+ Heidenreich's punches.

- John Cena's shitty brawling

- Benoit being eliminated first

- MAVEN's eyebrows. Sell out.

- JR calling Benjamin a "special athlete".

- Eugene

+ Rey's hurricanrana

- Spike winning

+ Spike getting heat

- JBL vs. Booker... all of it. Eugh.

- The main event. Eugh. They really need Patterson back.

Rudo's - of the night: CAMERA WORK. Worst Camera Work, EVER. I dunno if the WWE reads this site, or if they do I don't know if they ever take our suggestions seriously. But incase they do, listen up. Change the way you shoot matches, ESPECIALLY championship matches. JBL and Booker was shot horribly. Changes in storylines and wrestling matches are one thing, but this is something that is relatively easy to fix. Wider shots, sustained shots, more variety of shots, some crane shots, corner shots, etc. Less focus on handheld, less moving around for your camera men. I swear, watching it on the big screen, I got DIZZY trying to watch the show at times and my head is starting to kill me. Something needs to be changed in the production truck.

Tomorrow night, all the faces/heels rush into GM Maven's office, all bickering at once...

"YO! WOAH! Is Maven gonna hafta choke a bitch?"

and that, ladies and gents, will make Maven more over than Undertaker. Just throw that phrase at the beginning of his music, and he's the next MEer.

I'm kind of hoping one of the faces books Batista vs. HHH for the title.

Could be an interesting scenario.

And may I just add that I noticed a huge problem with the WWE during this show.

"Thank you for paying $35 to see Survivor Series, brought to you by X-BOX! And now we have the Smackdown tag...and now Carlito is running away...well, tune in to Smackdown to see Carlito vs Cena!" "And now we have the Raw tag, of whom the winners will get control of Raw!"

The shows should be pimping PPV's, not the other way around. For fuck's sake.

Just got back from Gund.

I completely missed the CW match because of a fiasco with my tickets... Anyway, I thought the crowd was into it all night, and it was a fun show. I'm not sure where people were hearing boos for Orton striking the pose. Maybe he didn't get a HUGE pop for it, but I didn't seem to find anybody actively anti-Orton.

The main event finish was kinda outta nowhere, but it popped the crowd huge. HHH's shitty Survivor Series streak continues. I was really surprised Maven didn't turn. The settings were all there. It would've been very easy for him to be anti-Snitsky, but still pro-Evolution.

The WWE Championship match was a joke. I'm not much of a Smackdown guy, but the whole thing just felt so MIDCARD. The whistling and 'borrring' chants got increasingly louder of this before the finishing sequence.

Crowd was pissed about the chick fight lasting 10 seconds.

Three announcing tables at ringside and NONE of them broke? Come on!

I would've liked to have seen more of Cena. That's the first time I've seen him live, and the crowd ate it up with a spoon.

All in all, a good time. And it was nice to finally see a PPV here end with the good guys winning. That hasn't happened since 1996.

Wow. I just realized it's the holiday season.

I wonder if WWE does a "Top 10 Matches of the year" show like last year...They had more to work with this time then last year.
