Guest ian.

I saw the Great American Bash live, came off way better in the arena. The main event was pretty good live, but boo to no Hogan or sting. What was up with that?

And they gave HHH-Mankind 20 minutes?

I hope it did --- because it came off as refried shit on PPV.

...Take away Dragon v Psichosis and the show was useless...

Ordering KOTR 97 was one of my birthday presents that year, so that means that it was actually on 6/8, not 6/9. With the one exception of HBK-Austin, the show was horrible, and it didn't even have a finish, but it was understandable to keep both strong.

Moment of the night:

During the Goldust-Crush match, when D'Lo & Clarence Mason are going after Marlena, and Goldust is sneaking up from behind, Crush (off camera) starts sneaking up on Goldust. All the kids in the nearby section starting yelling, "Goldust! Behind you! Goldust behind you!" One then gives one final plea: "BEHIND YOU GOLDUST!" But it's too late, and Crush gets the advantage :( ...

Seriously though, it's hilarious.

out of 24 matches on that list...only ONE meant a damn thing and was worth a damn thing. (Shawn/Austin)

1. Ultimo Dragon beat Psicosis (14:20) via submission.

I hope I see Asai beats Benjamin (14:20) via submission for the intercontinental title in a few months.

5. WCW Women's Champ Akira Hokuto pinned Madusa (11:41). Due to the loss, Madusa retired.

Small but in a way significant piece of wrestling, specifically womans wrestling, history. Medusa, the girl who sold her soul, and was given nothing for it.

Somehow I doubt Ultimo Dragon is going to win the IC title... :)

Wasn't Ahmed supposed to get the title shot on this show, or was that Canadian Stampede the next month? (And then of course, he got hurt)

Johnson was indeed meant to challenge Undertaker at CS, but injured himself. For the millionth time.

You should check the original KOTR advertisement/card in WWF Magazine, my friend.

Ahmed (as a FACE) was supposed to face (and I would suppose, job, or perhaps the heel turn would have occured sooner and made it face vs. heel instead) The Undertaker.

AUSTIN/HBK and Taker/Ahmed face off on the promotional poster, and the magazine hyped Ahmed/Taker, as well.

I am also aware they were then booked for IYH: CS, one month after.

In the Undertaker/Faarooq match, wasnt this where Paul Bearer had turned Heel on Taker, and was forcing him to be exceptionally brutal on his opponents, or he would reveal "what happened to his brother"? I remember after Taker won the match, Paul Bearer forced him to chokeslam Farrooq about 3 times, then Ahmed Johnson ran in and gave Taker his Pearl River Plunge to try to "knock some sense into him". Either way you look at it, the match, itself, sucked a big ass.

No. That was Guilty as Charged.

He won a Three Way Dance that night.
