Raw rating holds steady

Recommended Posts

This week's edition of Raw did a 3.9 cable rating, with a 6 share, according to Nielsen Media Research. That is a good sign for the company because it's even with last week's number and meant that they sustained the post-Survivor Series audience. The show did hours of 3.9 and 3.9, with the peak quarter hour occurring during the overrun, which did a 4.2.

In other ratings news, Velocity did a 0.4 cable rating, with a 1 share.

The WWE Experience did a 0.5 cable rating, with a 1 share.

Heat did a 1.0 cable rating, with a 2 share.

Credit goes to 1pop-ups.con's bastard step-child.

Woah, Velocity did 0.4?! That's really bad considering TNA's special Impact did steady 0.3's (for the best damn sports things). When does WWE cancel the show and replace it with something hosted by Todd "Juh-shin who?" Grisham, a.k.a the worst commentator ever.

A 3.9 for Spike TV's highest-rated show is depressing for both Vince and Spike.

Vinny Mac is stuck in a hole and he needs to step up and mkae his product interesting for the casual fans again.

WWE's best ratings were when Russo was booking. WCW thought that it was smart to make him a writer when they weren't doing good. That didn't work so well, did it?

You have to remember, the "Attitude" era is over with, and it's boring as hell when looking back. 9 2:00 matches, 40 minutes of Austin and Triple H/D-X...not a whole lot of thinking went into RAW back then it seems.

Who were the writers for 2000? They need to be hired, because it sure as hell was an entertaining time period.

Random Comment: I still don't understand how that crappy "This Is Your Life, Rock" segment in Sept. 99 is one of the (if not) highest rated segments ever.

The head writer for most of 2000 was a guy called Chris Kreski. He was the guy who planned things out on boards, and actually had flow charts setting out who was feuding with who, who could team with who without it not making sense, etc.

The "This Is Your Life, Rock" segment got a high rating purely due to the 'car crash' effect.

Is that the kind where it starts funny, then starts losing it's comedy, then turns complete stupid, then goes back to being funny. Or is it the one where it sucks for the whole time and people just watch to see how much worse it can get.

And he quit because the schedule was too tough for him.

I believe he is the head writer for the Daily Show now.

And because Foley had a surprise for The Rock under a black sheet. People tuned in thinking it'd be someone of note but it ended up being a clown.

Wasn't her first (big) show Survivor Series? No wonder it tanked and had so much stupid shit.

If you read what he said, he was talking about the BDSSP specials, not iMPACT.

And Grisham is a dumbass. If I ever met him in the street, I'd slap him around for ruining Benoit's commentary.
