Alright, now I'm sure you guys will all think I'm insane, but I was talking with some fellow smarks at work yesterday and we came upon a conclusion to this battle royal...

Chris Jericho will win the World Title.

No, no wait... hear me out.

Alright, well, we know Jericho is the last GM, right? What I think will happen is that it will come down to Triple H and Jericho. Triple H will get the upper hand, then out comes Orton, Benoit, Maven and maybe some assorted other faces. They all get in the ring and go after Triple H. Evolution comes down to the ring and goes after Jericho, trying to eliminate him. Somehow in the struggle, Triple H gets Jericho up against the ropes, then starts eliminating him. Batista, trying to "help", goes for his sick clothesline to eliminate Jericho himself, but Jericho ducks and Triple H eats the Clothseline of doom, sending him over the top rope and to the floor.

This way, Jericho gets a short title run (he's arguably one of the most over faces in the company right now), Batista's split with Evolution begins, Triple H gets to leave and do press for Blade Trinity (which comes out next month) and then gets to return in time for the January New Year's Revolution PPV, where he can win the title back from Jericho, raise his title count up one more, and start the feud against Orton for WrestleMania.

Jericho has pretty much been considered the #1 odds on favorite since they announced this deal mainly because HHH would need to drop the title and Benoit just had a reign and wasn't too successful with it. The fact Jericho runs raw next week helps bolster his case.

So it's hardly a reach.

For some reason, I'd like to see Batista get an "Accidental" win.

Like, HHH is about to be elimated by...let's say...Benoit and Jericho in this match...and Batista is in the ring.

Batista, wanting to help HHH out, blasts Benoit and Jericho both with double clotheslines.

However, this action also knocks HHH to the arena floor, and leaves Batista your winner and new World Champion.

Crazy idea, yes. But it would be interesting to see, if you ask me.

I don't want Batistia to get saddled with a fluke short reign. Batistia should be the one to eliminate HHH though. Let Jericho or Benoit get the meaningless one month reign.

I say at the start, all the faces shoot for HHH and push him through the ropes (but not eliminated), So hhh takes his time and verbally spars with the fans at ringside. A few jobbers get tossed and the ring scales down to about 15. HHH gets in and literally hides behind Batistia and Viscera (whom we had seen in a previously taped segment, making a deal with HHH). Flair is eliminated early but stays ringside. So a few more go out and now it's down to the final 8

HHH, Batistia, Viscera, Benjamin, Jericho, Benoit, Edge(if he does enter the match) and Christian.

HHH gets a little more cocky after he shoves Rhyno and Eugene out. and gets chased around by The three faces. Benoit dumps christian. The faces and edge go "get rid of the fat guy" and they work him over because HHH and Batistia start a arguement again and Flair screams at them in usual comic fashion until it's too late when Jericho's 4th dropkick sends Big Vis crashing to the floor. HHH looks like has taken a giant shit. HHH apoligizes to Batistia and goes "get rid of them". Benjamin is dumped and HHH works over the CVC. While Edge and batistia work the corner and flair cheats to help Batistia, which draws Orton down to the ring and flair has a chair in his hand and tries to give it to BATISTA but orton catches it but he yanks it away and thwacks Edge accidently and Orton shrugs and then kicks Flair out.

Edge, stumbles around and walks into Batista gently tossing him over. Down to EVO Vs CVC.

HHH tells Batista to finish off these punks and goes for the Batistia clothesline but Benoit catches it into a Crossface and Batista lumbers around with Benoit hanging on and Batistia in fit spins around and the feet of Benoit push HHH over the ropes but he lands on the apron but Jericho, the advatagist sees this and pushes Batistia into HHH causing HHH fall and Benoit to crash over to the floor. Leaving Jericho with Batistia...HHH pulls a Hogan and Jericho lifts Batistia over and out to win the title.

I dont really like the idea of Benoit vs Taker anymore than I like Angle-Taker (which isn't very much).

If they do go with Angle-Taker, I would do Benoit vs Eddie. Play off the ending of Mania, and do a respect match type deal.

And JBL should face Hogan.

I've also got a feeling they will blow off Edge vs HBK on this show.

I think in this battle royale they really outta have SOMEONE other than HHH win it. You'll never hear the end of the whining over this if HHH goes over the whole roster in one night. Thus, I say let someone fairly credible win it, then just have HHH regain it when Bischoff gets back from vacation.

... And rightly so.

Why?

Benoit/Undertaker fued has never been done. While Angle/Taker has.

Oh come on. They did two one month "cluess putz Angle runs away from bikertaker" angles. They haven't done a real Angle vs. Undertaker feud yet.

I just dont like either as a Mania main event match.

I dont think Taker should be in there. He's already proven that nobody wants to pay to see him chase for the title, and its not like either match will be all that great. So why do it? I mean I know 'why' they will do it, but doesn't mean he should be in there.

Undertaker/Benoit hasn't been done and either has Shawn/Angle...I really am not getting why there's an arguement against this.

Undertaker/Angle can do a two month deal from after Armageddon to NWO and then set up Angle/HBK (which has already been teased) and should start Benoit/Taker up somehow.

One thing about doing Benoit/Taker. With Deadman Taker, you really kind of need to program him with someone who has some ability to play off the character (Booker, JBL, Heyman) I'm not so sure Benoit can.

When was Shawn/Kurt teased?

survivor series. When Angle said he could take shawn too after Edge mocked HBK.

I could see Heyman selling his soul and forcing a trade to bring back Benoit and Benoit can be a heel again and the sell would be "Heyman wants to rid the deadman once and for all, so he brings in the best wrestler alive today" and Taker can for one night revert to Purotaker and they can bust ass at WMXXI.

And why would Benoit agree to align with Heyman, simply he is tired of everyone talk about the damn streak and stuff.

Cool enough.

I'm really not sure how this would negatively impact Edge's character at all. Edge can simply complain that "Yeah, I got a title shot, but I was lumped in with 20 other guys, most of whom are probably jealous of me, and that's just not fair."

Posted
Just out of curiousity, who are the guys more over than him?

Both Champions, certainly, and Coachman may be the most over character in the company right now.

When I read houseshow reports alot, he's the one with the most heat.

Bad example. Test was often the highest heat getter at houseshows.

Your are dreaming if you think HHH is more over than Edge. The Coach is a speical attraction. His act would get old every week.

And Test, as a dick, could have been uber-over if ever given the chance.

This Battle Royal has the potential to set up a kickass Batista/HHH fued at WM. If that does not happen, this whole thing is a waste. If Edge is in (I do see what CC is saying where he mouths off Orton and get Orton in the 1st hour ME instead of a title shot), he wins.

My pick is Edge winning and Orton beating Edge at RR with HBK's help. And HHH gets elimanated by Batista, accidental or not. HHH SHOULD get ganged up by everyone and get dumped 1st. But that would be logical. This was is way more plausable.

I still say Batista wins next week and drops the title to Orton, to set up the WM21 match.

Not going to happen, for two reasons.

1) They clearly like Batista, and aren't going to make him seem like a guy who can't hack it at the top by giving him a short Word Title reign. Much more likely, if Batista has a Raw title reign in his future, that he'll be the one to take it from Orton.

2) If Orton is still going to face Huner at WM XXI, and they're still wanting to give Orton the super push, he won't be coming into WM with the title. It'll mean a whole lot more if Orton wins the title at WM rather than retains it at WM.
