Prophet of Mike Zagurski 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2004 I think a major title change on TV could help boost ratings. That hardly happened in WCW.
SamoaRowe 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2004 I think a major title change on TV could help boost ratings. That hardly happened in WCW. In 2000, Jeff Jarrett, Kevin Nash, Ric Flair, and David Arquette (and probably some more whom I can't think of) won the World title on Nitro/Thunder.
UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2004 In 2000, there were **** 16 **** WCW World Title changes on free TV: Â THAT'S 16 WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE CHANGES ON FREE TV IN ONE YEAR. Â 1. Sid Vicious wins the VACANT World Title from Kevin Nash on Nitro. Â 2. Sid Vicious is stripped of the World Title by Kevin Nash on Thunder. Â 3. Sid Vicious wins the VACANT World Title from Kevin Nash & Ron Harris in a handicap cage match on Thunder. Â 4. Sid Vicious is stripped of the World Title by Eric Bischoff & Vince Russo on Nitro. Â 5. Dallas Page wins the World Title in a cage match from Jeff Jarrett on Nitro. Â 6. David Arquette (teaming with World Champion Dallas Page) wins the World Title in a tag match against Eric Bischoff & Jeff Jarrett by pinning Bischoff in a match where whoever scored the fall won the title. Â 7. Ric Flair wins the World Title from Jeff Jarrett on Nitro. Â 8. Ric Flair is stripped of the World Title on Nitro by Vince Russo for not being in fighting shape (Flair "suffered a heart attack"). Â 9. Jeff Jarrett wins the VACANT World Title from Kevin Nash on Nitro. Â 10. Kevin Nash wins the World Title from Jeff Jarrett in a three-way match also involving Scott Steiner on Thunder. Â 11. Ric Flair is AWARDED the World Title (since he never lost it) by Kevin Nash on Nitro. Â 12. Jeff Jarrett wins the World Title from Ric Flair on Nitro. Â 13. Kevin Nash wins the World Title from Booker T. on Nitro. Â 14. Vince Russo wins the World Title from Booker T. on Nitro in a cage match. Â 15. Vince Russo vacates the WCW World Title on Nitro due to his being a non-wrestler. Â 16. Booker T. wins the World Title from Jeff Jarrett in a "San Francisco 49ers" match (four boxes suspended in each corner, only one possessing the title belt) on Nitro. Â And I did that by memory. Vanhalen 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2004 How many times did the title change hands in all, I'm assuming it must have changed hands on PPV's for that year as well, does anyone know the last title change for Raw, the last one I can remember off the top of my head was the Angle/Austin after Unforgiven 2001

UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2004 Well, in addition to those 16 free TV World Title changes, we had: Â 17. Bret Hart is stripped of WCW World Title. 18. Benoit def. Sid for World Title. 19. Benoit is stripped of WCW World Title. 20. Jarrett def. Page for WCW World Title (Stampede) 21. Jarrett def. Page & Arquette in three-way 3-cage match for WCW World Title (Slamboree) 22. Booker T def. Jarrett for WCW World Title (BATB) 23. Booker T def. Nash for WCW World Title (Fall Brawl) 24. That's just embarrassing . . . it's no wonder WCW went in the freakin' toilet. I can deal with three or four title changes in a year, but 24? That's almost one every two weeks. Of course, if you remember, Russo had a hard-on for title changes when he was in WWF(E) . . . I seem to remember the Intercontinental title changing like 15 times or something during 1999, and going on several undeserving wrestlers to boot.
Guest Dazed Report post Posted November 29, 2004 Last time on Raw, I believe (other than HHH being handed the title), would be Austin over Angle in 2001.

Guest LooneyTune Report post Posted November 29, 2004 The Godfathers reign I heard was more of a "loyalty for being a yes man for doing anything they want", but still, that's WAY Too many title changes for 3 years, let alone 1.

Guest BWT Report post Posted November 29, 2004 I think the last time the belt changed hands on RAW was Angle v Austin with Austin winning due to a Regal turn.
ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2004 To answer the Topic Question... Â The last time the WORLD Title changed hands was from no one holding it to HHH holding it when it was first created in late 2002. Â The last time the WWE Title changed hands I do believe was Angle vs. Austin.
