This week in the NBA

Recommended Posts

Better late than never, and stuff.

The Pacers appear to be on the verge of getting swept by the Clippers, though it's still in the third quarter, it's not going well right now. Newest Pacer Marcus Haislip just got the shit stuffed out of him by Brand. Britton Johnson should never set foot on an NBA court, again.

Oh Jesus, here comes Opie back into the game.

Johnson and John Edwards in at the same time, this is like hell.

Well, this game's as good as over. I figured at least the GS game would be a win, but I don't even know about that one with the way they played Minnesota tonight. Hopefully we hang on to Haislip when our guys come back, from what I saw of him he has good athleticism and is a decent shot blocker.

Orlando dropped an absolute nuke on Toronto earlier. It was ridiculous how many guys for the Magic were coming in and immediately taking over the game for a 2 minute stretches. They essentially just took turns beating The Raptors' face in.

And the Lakers lost to Chicago. One of my friends, a die hard Laker fan, has dubbed the following people Satan: Chris Mihm, Vlade Divac, Kobe Bryant and Jerry West for no apparent reason.

Clippers are for real this year, guys. Brand and Maggette always bring the goods, Bobby Simmons has come out of virtually no where to become a legit small forward, Livingston will be the shiznit when he returns from injury and the glue holding this all together is Marko Jaric. This guy can flat out play. Livingston is the future for the Clips, but Jaric is playing well now and I think will be good trade bait in a year or two.

Nice to see the Kings back on track after getting 0wned by their daddy's, the T-Wolves. Peja has been in a better mood lately and seems to have put his trade request pout to the side. Bobby Jackson playing better has also got the Kings back to where they need to be.

Did anyone see the Dirk vs. T-Mac shootout tonight.

53 points 16 rebounds 2 assists 3 steals and 4 blocks for Dirk

48 points 9 rebounds 9 assists 2 steals and 3 blocks for T-Mac

Great Game with T-Mac leading a fourth quarter charge to tie the game and Dirk scoring the first 10 in OT to seal the win for Dallas.

Drew Gooden said in the halftime interview "Our goal was to win at least one game on this three-game road trip."

Barkley got a good laugh out of that one.

Tracy McGrady played really hard tonight, that's something he normally don't do.

I think I missed Barkley more than the basketball during the offseason.

Ernie Johnson said before the games that Houston was struggling. Charles replied with "Yeah, they're struggling because they're not very good." Honestly, why isn't this man a color commentator? Because he'd leave halfway through the second quarter? Feh. It'd still be awesome.

On an actual basketball related note, Cleveland may be the third or fourth funnest team in the league for me to watch. Especially against this ridiculously awful defense Denver has thrown out there tonight.

You know something about seeing Ron Artest talking........am I supposed to be angry at this guy or feel sorry for him? I mean I really think he IS that dumb and he really believes what he is saying and he really doesn't understand why he gets ridiculed.

I don't think he's dumb really, he's just kind of an awkward public speaker. Like he completely forgets what he was told to say beforehand and as a result, just rambles on pointlessly in an attempt to save himself.

I'm sticking by my pick of Cleveland for first rd home court advantage, even stronger now with Indiana's situation. They'll be the 3 or 4 seed. And LeBron is the best player in the East, I tried to tell y'all that........

But anyway, nice how they hyped up LeBron v. Melo as much as possible and Dirk and T-Mac provide us with the Bird v. Nique style shoot out. That was some great ball those two guys played.

Too bad that statement is false.

Yeah, that was just excellent basketball. I really enjoyed seeing them go back and forth.. I think the highlight of the game for me was when McGrady got 3 offensive rebounds in a row.

Oh, and Melo Vs. LeBron? Psssh. Everyone now knows it's LeBron Vs. Wade.

Indeed.

PS - I didn't say I agreed with the above statement, just pointing it out.

PS2 - Check the league, I have a trade for you.

would like to say that it was great to hear that Hubie Brown was hired by ABC to commentate with Al Michaels on basketball games. He was the man on TNT, The minute he says "Huge Upside Potential" during a game I will mark out.

The Suns are tearing it up this year, doing just enough on defence and putting up some monster points. I hope they don't run out of gas as the season goes on though.

I'd love to hear Hubie on a Memphis game, too bad ABC won't be covering any.

On a more positive note, Anthony Johnson debuted tonight and Reggie will be back for the GS game. In a best case scenario, Foster will be back Tuesday.
