Boston Garden

Recommended Posts

To add to the similar pages on MSG, Maple Leaf Gardens, and the Capital Centre, I've put together a new section of my website dedicated to the historic Boston Garden.

Ring results from the beginning of the WWF through to its final show in May 1995 are posted, along with what print ads I've been able to find.

Here's a direct link: http://www.angelfire.com/wrestling/cawthon777/boston.htm

There are gaps so if anyone can help with that info, I would appreciate it.

WWF @ Boston, MA - Boston Garden - March 5, 1988

Televised on NESN:

Randy Savage, and WWF Tag Team Champions Rick Martel & Tito Santana defeated WWF IC Champion the Honkytonk Man, Bret Hart & Jim Neidhart in a steel cage match; order of exit: Santana escaped through the door, Neidhart escaped through the door moments later, Martel escaped over the top, Bret escaped through the door, Savage escaped over the top after knocking Honky from the top rope, where both men were fighting, down to the top rope where he landed with the rope between his legs (Wrestling's Greatest Steel Cage Matches Ever)

Anyone seen that??? It sounds awesome.

MLG and Boston Garden are historic old places, sad to see them go. The Capital Centre was a run-down shithole all the way out in Landover in the middle of nowhere.

Hey Hey Hey, I graduated from the Capital Centre!!!!!!!!!! Dont dare talk about it, no matter how much it was 1 lol Class of 2002 lol

I have that match on tape. It's a fun 10-12 minute match. Nothing extrordinary but definitely unique. I don't believe there was any blood either.

It's a fun formula cage match (almost in the vein of Savage & Adonis vs. Santana& Sammartino) with great crowd heat. Not a classic or anything, but a lot better than the usual WWF Main Event of that era.

Very cool.

I grew up in New England (including many years right in Boston) and went to a lot of these shows. Cool to look back at those cards!
