Guest The Shadow Behind You Report post Posted January 23, 2005 Heat Debut Match Chris Masterpiece Vs Val Venis *Masterpiece debut. Allows Venis to make him look good* Match One Falls Count Anywhere, No DQ Edge Vs HBK *An all out brawl in which Shawn goes bloodtastic. Majority of the match occurs outside the ring as Bischoff decided on Heat to make the match No DQ, Falls Count aywhere. Shawn goes for the SCM but misses and Edge spears him into the back of a nearby car. Edge hits the edgecution(figure four shooter) and Shawn finally taps out. Edge celebrates. Shawn is carried to the trainer's room where he is told he can't wrestle in the rumble; that his "back is severely hurt and further damage can permantly injure him".* *The first of many backstage vignettes shows Chris Jericho, Shelton Benjamin and Chris Benoit enter to draw their numbers. Jericho and Benoit are still arguing about them losing the title match to Le resistance on monday. Benjamin seperates them and reminds them to focus on the match tonight. Jericho draws first and he smiles. Benoit next, he shrugs his shoulders going "I won @ #1 last year, This is nothing". Benjamin draws next...his reaction is silent. Benoit: What's wrong? Benjamin: Oh nothing. Good luck guys.* *Jordan enters the Cabinet's HQ's and shows Amy his number. JBL checks it and says "This is an outrage! Amy you know what to do!"* Match Two Cruiserweight Title Funaki © Vs Kidman *Short match. Kidman cheats to win.* *Amy writes a check and hands it to a unseen person behind a door. She turns to Orlando. "Here's your new number. Wow. JBL Vs Orlando Jordan. WrestleMania XXI. I smell money"* *Short match. Kidman cheats to win.* *Le Resistance reunites with Rene. They all draw at the same time and they all share a hug of joy and leave. Eddy Guerrero and Booker enter to draw followed by Mysterio. There's still dissention between eddy and rey. They draw. Eddy's not pleased about his number but Rey is estatic. They leave as Jindrak and Reigns enter followed by Angle who refuses to leave from their protective grasp. Reigns and Jindrak draw and Angle peeks "Looks like i wont be facing you guys at Mania". Edge strolls in still sweaty from his match. Edge to Angle: Hey Kurt! Good luck with your match tonight. Kurt to edge: Luck? Maybe for you. I mean beating that has been michaels is nothing compared to when I win the wwe title once again. but yeah, maybe you can pull another one off and you can face a REAL champion like me at mania.* *Batistia enters the evolution dressing room. HHH: Where have you been? I got a match and you're not here? Batistia: Sorry boss; I had to go draw my number for the rumble tonight. HHH: Oh right. So i guess you're going through with the rumble then? Batistia: Yeah. HHH: I see Batistia: I mean Im supposed to follow in you two guy's footsteps right? So If i recall correctly about a little over ten years ago, @ number 3, Ric here won it all Flair: WHOO! THREE! WHOO! Batistia:....And of course so did you hunter. So I figure i better go get ready for the match. Good luck tonight. But hey, you're the game. You won't need me anyways. Right? of course not. Batistia walks out the door* *Video package of the WWE Title match* Match Three WWE Title JBL © Vs Kurt Angle Vs TBS *Short 8-12 minute routine three way with a little comedy, JBL's and Angle's men are all thrown out of the ringside area. Angle and JBL work to take out TBS. Finish ends JBL hitting TBS with three straight CFH's on TBS who saunters around while Angle distracts the ref as Amy with a official manager's license smacks tbs with a briefcase. Ref turns and sees the briefcase and throws Amy out while JBL protests, Angle clocks him. TBS charges and splashes JBL into the corner. Angleslam for TBS but Angle falls out of the ring by the exhustionous effort it took to slam him, JBL pounces on the prone TBS to win the match* *Randy Orton cuts a prematch promo* *Carlito Carribean cool enters the raw dressing room and talks to a few and gets a few signees for the petition. He bumps into Tajiri which hilarity ensues. Punchline? Tajiri's mist ruins the petition. CCC charges after him but remembers his shoulder and stops and walks away but chomps the apple and spits in the faces of the uncool tajiri* *John Cena cuts a rhyme and draws his #.* *Coach is backstage with the trainier's who say Shawn's in no condition not only for tonight but perhaps for another 2-4 weeks. Bischoff emerges behind the curtain. Coach "Mr. Bischoff, what do you plan to do with Shawn's spot? He is incapable of wrestling tonight". Bischoff "I don't know coach. How about you? Put on some sweats. YOUR gonna be in the rumble!" *Orton/HHH package* Match Four World Title Triple H © Vs Randy Orton *Twenty Minute match. Hebner goes bumpity bump. Flair slides a chair in but Orton ducks it, and hits a rko on trips. Flair goes berserk and Orton brawls with him around the ring. Batistia strolls on down. HHH is up on the ropes. Batistia enters the ring and goes for Orton and shoves him under his thighs. He motions the thumbs up to HHH. Who grins and turns around to taunt the crowd. Batista tosses Orton off to the side. HHH turns around. THUMBS DOWN. HHH's eyes bulge. Kick wham Batistia bomb. Batistia walks away. Flair chases Batistia and Batistia sppoks him and Flair flops on the floor. Orton picks up HHH, HHH swings and Orton hits the rko for the win and the title. *Muhammad Hassan and Daviari enter the drawing room. Hassan cuts a "anti america" promo and then draws and grins and leaves* *Casket Match Package* Match Five Casket Match Undertaker Vs Heidenreich 8-10 minute brawl that flows into Kane and Snitsky running in and thus sets up a 4 way brawl that needs to be seperated. Match Six Royal Rumble Order of Entry 1. Shelton Benjamin 2. Charlie Haas 3. Christian (revealed to be the one who sold his # to Orlando Jordan) 4. S2H 5. Daniel Puder 6. Slyvian Grenier 7. Plays to the fans. Heeling it up. Jericho, who had enough of it tope's through the ropes knocking down Edge. Benjamin crawls out and joins the edge bashing. Eddy lays on the ropes as the "cool guy". London steps between the ropes and hits a springboard sault onto Edge, Bengi and Jericho). 14. Rhyno by Benjamin and Eddy (Benoit comes in and saves Jericho from near elimination from Edge. Jericho shoves back "I dont need your damn help!". Benoit shoves back, Edge tries to spear them both but they step aside and Edge goes hurling over the ropes but skins the cat and rolls back in) 15. Hurricane by Edge (Hurricane gets the shortest stint in this year's rumble) 16. London by Kenzo 17. cawthon777 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2005 Yeah, I noticed that myself. The only problem there is that 3 of those 4 guys are already in (Eddie / Rey over Reigns / Jindrak) ... which makes it incredibly dumb to have the match. Either 1) it wasn't a qualifier and all the newsboards are saying it was because they are sheep that follow PWInsider and 1wrestling or 2) it was a qualifier and someone in the WWE is a moron (well, probably more than someone). ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2005 One bad thing about this Royal Rumble... Rikishi will not be breaking his record of being in 10 Royal Rumbles with an 11th.
natey2k4 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2005 If you didn't watch WWE for a year... and you just came in and watched possibly the last RAW before.. or even just the Rumble.. There's like 11 or 12 guys on RAW who'd be a threat (Hurricane, Coach, Simon Dean taken off) While on Smackdown.. there may be like 4 or 5? Does that tell you something or what.
natey2k4 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2005 Bad enough we may have to put up with Viscera? In a way.. but I like the element of everyone putting away their personal grudges to try and get the huge man over. Considering Rikishi is gone.. Viscera will be that man. I think it will be crash and burn for people trying to put him out for one or two numbers... and BATISTA comes out and BAMMO!.. bye bye Viscera. Hassan, Jericho, Benoit, Christian are my early picks for the Ironman this year. Hassan will have to made to look good... Jericho always lasts forever in battle royales, Benoit was last year's winner so he should last awhile... and Christian is seemingly getting pushed and more recongized.
cawthon777 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2005 In terms of Benoit winning last year and being the Ironman, I remember back to 1993 when Bob Backlund went the distance and set the then-record. What happened the next year? Backlund didn't last 2 minutes and was punked out of the ring by Diesel. *crosses fingers that we don't see something like that this year*
UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2005 Not a chance. I've got Benny going about 25-35 minutes. Anyone doing a Rumble pool with friends? We usually get together, each throw in $5-10, pick names out of a hat (number of names depending on how many people enter), and you get those guys...if he wins you get the pot. I got Benoit and The Cat last year. In 2003 I got Shawn Michaels, Rey Mysterio, and B2.
