EVIL~! alkeiper Posted December 17, 2004 Report Posted December 17, 2004 I've run the simulation three times, and gotten three different orders. The Phillies finish anywhere from first to fourth. The only common thread is that the Washington Nationals finish last every time.
The Czech Republic Posted December 17, 2004 Report Posted December 17, 2004 Oh hi. We're not contending for the wild card. I have a feeling this will ring true in Philly as well this year. I meant we're still aiming for the Central. Why would we concede the division before the 2005 calendar year even starts? Geez. As for Philly, like I said, Atlanta is the team until proven otherwise.
BX Posted December 17, 2004 Report Posted December 17, 2004 It's always a good year to be an Atlanta Braves fan.
bob_barron Posted December 17, 2004 Report Posted December 17, 2004 Until the first-second week of October
Hogan Made Wrestling Posted December 17, 2004 Report Posted December 17, 2004 Being an Atlanta Braves fan is the weirdest thing in the world. At this point when they lose I'm not even upset, just mildly disappointed. You know you are likely to get a good season but the finish will not be what you are hoping for.
The Czech Republic Posted December 17, 2004 Report Posted December 17, 2004 It's always a good week to be a baseball fan when you're Bob Barron. You've always got a winner to cheer for, based on the premise that every day, somebody has to win a game.
Slayer Posted December 17, 2004 Report Posted December 17, 2004 It's always a good week to be a baseball fan when you're Bob Barron. That's about the only time someone could be envious of Barron
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted December 18, 2004 Report Posted December 18, 2004 You know, I've run through the simulation four times (each simulation runs for 1,000 games), and I've gotten three different winners. And that's with the computer knowing the expected output from each player. I think that illustrates the randomness and unpredictability of the baseball season. 25 players could go off in 25 different directions. A player you'd never expect could break out, and another might suffer an equally unexpected collapse. This stuff is insanely difficult to predict. Except the Nationals. They finish last every time.
Guest The Shadow Behind You Posted December 18, 2004 Report Posted December 18, 2004 Which means of course the Nationals win 106 games this year and sweep the Yankees in the Series.
