Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted December 20, 2004 So will he be out for the year? Just heard this on Mike and the Maddog.
MikeJordan23 0 Report post Posted December 20, 2004 Trainer said if all goes well HE MIGHT be ready for the SuperBowl in 7 weeks from now.
the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted December 20, 2004 I would be shocked if he came back, if this is the case. McNabb was pretty useless for a long time after the same injury and he isn't entirely reliant on running and making sharp cuts. That is all a wide receiver does. I thought it was this injury from the very beginning given it was a carbon copy of McNabb's incident.
Guest Failed Mascot Report post Posted December 20, 2004 This is Karma's way of telling TO that he should shut the fuck up and just play the game. I don't feel bad for the man at all.

1234-5678 0 Report post Posted December 20, 2004 This sucks and all, but I think Reid and the Philly media need to watch when they say "He may be back for the Super Bowl". I'm an Eagles fan and all, but, I mean, c'mon, given past history, there is no guarantee they will even get there, especially now. I'm interested to see now who they put in his spot. Hopefully Freddie Mitchell will finally get his just due.
Cartman 0 Report post Posted December 20, 2004 God forbid a guy that gets paid millions to entertain people should dance around and do funny celebrations to make his fans laugh. Just because the NFL doesnt like showboating doesn't mean fans dont want to see it. TO has never done anything to hurt anyone. Kinda pissed i'm losing him from my fantasy team in the playoffs too
KingPK 0 Report post Posted December 20, 2004 Wow, the NFC is blown even more wide open now that the best team's best (or second best) player is down. I have no idea who will represent them in the SuperBowl this year now.
Cartman 0 Report post Posted December 20, 2004 Wow, the NFC is blown even more wide open now that the best team's best (or second best) player is down. I have no idea who will represent them in the SuperBowl this year now. Honestly...does it matter? Steelers, Pats, Colts, Chargers...hell even Jets, Buffalo and Jacksonville are better than any NFC teams. Yes that includes the Flukens.
the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted December 20, 2004 They should still make the Super Bowl. Their defense is playing better (since Trotter was put in the lineup) then they were last year and the offense is the same except they have Westbrook this year. And while it may be a popular "silver lining" mantra in Philly right now, it is true, IMO, that out of McNabb/Owens/Westbrook, Owens is the one who hurts the least to lose. Guest Failed Mascot Report post Posted December 20, 2004 God forbid a guy that gets paid millions to entertain people should dance around and do funny celebrations to make his fans laugh. What about the shitting on everybody in press conferences too? Or maybe blaming the media that he's seen as an idiot is their fault and not because he acts like a jackass? I could careless about his endzone stuff, but at the very least this shuts him up and keeps him away from the podium.
KingPK 0 Report post Posted December 20, 2004 Well, it makes the NFC playoffs that much more interesting at least. I know an AFC team is most likely winning in Jacksonville, but at least I have a reason to watch FOX's coverage now.
Precious Roy 0 Report post Posted December 20, 2004 They'll probably make it the super bowl anyway, Falcons have the best shot to knock them off I guess but I have no faith in them. They weren't going to beat Indy or New England anyway.
Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Report post Posted December 20, 2004 T.O is so unfuckingbeliably harmless. Its the uptight conservative American cunts who ostrasize the guy for just having fun. He makes watching football fun. So what if he dances? So does Usher. He makes the game entertaining. And when he bashes people, he usually has a case. Jeff Garcia is the biggest fucking baby in the league. Ray Lewis's obnoxious dance deserved to be mocked. I feel horrible for the Eagles. Shit like this happens every year to them. But this is time for McNabb to shine. I am not counting them out yet, and don't be shocked to see T.O back by the NFC Championship game.
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted December 20, 2004 Seriously, I'd love to see McNabb, Owens, or Westbrook break their leg or neck on another pointless score. That'll show Andy Reid. Man, I better be careful of what I say.
Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted December 20, 2004 I have to laugh at all the Eagle fans right now. This is what happens when you start acting like the Super Bowl is in the bag before your team has even won anything so far this season.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted December 20, 2004 God dammit! I was so sure this was THE year too! It still might be the year! Gotta have faith! I have faith in the rest of the team. They won 14 or whatever games without him last year. They can win without him this year.

So does Usher. ahhh, this is the NFL not the Soul Train awards I agree that the media is too tough on him, but some of his celebrations he does on the field are highly unecessary and is showing up his opponents. I don't know if it would bother me, personally, but I could definitely see it pissing players off. Is he committing a crime? Has he been arrested for drunk driving, suspended for drugs, or been accused of spousal abuse? No. Its just pussy ass bitches dwell over the fact he has FUN when he plays. Dancing after a touchdown is perfectly acceptable.

Damaramu 0 Report post Posted December 20, 2004 I have to laugh at all the Eagle fans right now. This is what happens when you start acting like the Super Bowl is in the bag before your team has even won anything so far this season. I think we can still do it. Yeah this is a blow to not have TO. But hey they have two weeks now against so-so teams to get used to an offense without TO and I think they can do it. I think they can still run roughshoud over whoever the NFC puts up and I think they can still beat Atlanta in Philly. The Super Bowl will be the real test and hey they may have him back by then and they could shock you! This is still the Eagles year! And Vitamin X he wasn't injured going for a "useless" score in this game. The game was still up in the air. And damn you Roy Williams! Damn your cold black heart straight to hell! *finds his poster of Roy Williams when he played at OU and burns it* Take that you heartless punk!
Guest The Shadow Behind You Report post Posted December 20, 2004 God; I really can't stand Dama now. stop posing as a Eagles fan. Anyways, This isnt as major as it seems. They'll still roll onto the conference title game since Minn/GB/Carolina/Seattle/St.Louis/Tampa are horrible and they'll easily beat them without T.O. If they can contain Vick in the Title game and confuse him; then it's in the bag. T.O will return and will play @ Superbowl
1234-5678 0 Report post Posted December 20, 2004 They have an impartial doctor on Comcast's SportsNite right now, and he is saying that T.O. playing in the Super Bowl could risk his career.
the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted December 20, 2004 I would end any thoughts of TO playing right now. Remember what the McNabb injury did to him and realize that the injury will affect Owens' position much more than McNabb's.

But this is a spiral fracture and I have never seen an athlete come back ahead of schedule and fully recovered from that.
therealworldschampion 0 Report post Posted December 20, 2004 I'm agreeing with pinjockey here. The NFC is so bad that they could still win it, and remember they got to the NFC title game last year with Westbrook out, a horrible run defense, and crappy WRs. However, Westbrook has to stay healthy and Pinkston needs to grow a set and quit worrying about getting hit. I was at the game yesterday and he was still pulling that stuff. Anything can happen in sports, hell if the Red Sox won the World Series, then who knows what will happen.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted December 20, 2004 This is a blow, simply because this is likely the best team the Eagles have fielded in their history. It was their best chance at a Super Bowl. I think the team is so far ahead of the conference that they should be good enough to make the Super Bowl. At that point, it's up in the air. The Eagles have other receivers, so I don't think its curtains just yet.
tominator89 0 Report post Posted December 20, 2004 At this point, they have to consider giving Blake/Detmer some significant playing time against the Rams and Bengals. They need McNabb more than anyone right now. As a lifelong Eagles fan, this hurts. But, like Al said, it's not over yet. Westbrook can be effective running and catching out of the backfield. Pinkston better get ready to take a hit and this is Mitchell's time to step up.
