Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted December 22, 2004 Credit: PWInsider.com Ring of Honor was informed earlier today that due to his WWE obligations, Ricky Steamboat will finish up with ROH this Sunday at their Final Battle event in Philadelphia, PA. For those who don't know, Steamboat has signed on to work fulltime with WWE as a road agent. Steamboat's final appearance this Sunday will end his feud with Mick Foley. Steamboat was representing "Pure Wrestling" while Foley was representing "Hardcore Wrestling." Steamboat was already scheduled and advertised for the January 15th ROH show in Cambridge, MA, but will not be able to make it. According to ROH's Gabe Sapolsky, Steamboat will be able to do ROH shows in the future if they do not confilict with his WWE duties, but he knows it won't be a regular occurrence, which is why ROH is finishing up his storyling this Sunday. Assuming Batista leaves evo and is replaced by two other guys (i.e Rob Conway and Maven) how about he could form a rival evolution style faction with him in HHH's role, Steamboat in Flair's and two young up and comers in Orton / Batista's original roles? Guest LooneyTune Report post Posted December 22, 2004 Any chance this'll improve the product? Road Agent = Babysitting the wrestlers. It won't matter.
haws bah gawd 0 Report post Posted December 22, 2004 I would pair Steamboat with Paul London. Paul reminds me a lot of Steamboat from his earlier days, and I think they would fit together nicely.

That would work. I've already been nicknaming London "Paul 'The Dragon' London" since he looks like a young Steamboat.
Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted December 22, 2004 once you start seeing some Deep Arm dragons being thrown by a atheletically inclined wrestler, you probably start seeing the fingerprints of Ricky.

Guest sek69 Report post Posted December 22, 2004 The funny/sad part of it all is Ricky can probably still outwork 3/4ths of the current WWE roster, but instead of perhaps being a trainer in OVW his main job will probably be to make sure Big Show doesn't accidentally sit on a cruiserweight. iliketurtles 0 Report post Posted December 22, 2004 I'd have him take Bischoff's spot. Watching Steamboat tell Triple H and Ric Flair to shut the fuck up with be all I need.
Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted December 22, 2004 Unfortunately the only duties of a road agent on air is to break up Brawls in the back, and somehow Sell accidental Back elbows to the face by the pissed off wrestlers as if they were shot.. Ricky joins the Illustrious Roster of Road agents of the past and present Rene Goulet, Tony Garea, Fit Finley, Terry Taylor (When he is hired for about a week) Dean malenko. razazteca 0 Report post Posted December 23, 2004 Was Steamboat on the Hall of Fame list for induction this year?
Guest The Shadow Behind You Report post Posted December 23, 2004 they haven't announced that yet, but Steamboat likely will get it now. He had to be a favorite regardless of being on or off the roster. This only helps. I guess Flair inducts Race in 2004, Steamboat in 2005 and Arn in 2006 and finally in 2007, He'll get inducted by Reid. It's sad to see him leave ROH but WWE is a higher paying job and he's earned that right to cash a nice check babysitting TBS. Anyone who watches ROH (if you don't you are a idiot) can tell how greatly the quality over all went up with Steamboat there to make pointers.
Dark Age 0 Report post Posted December 23, 2004 How the Hell are you an idiot if you don't watch ROH? What if you can't afford it? What if you don't like the style(s) of wrestling? What if you're not 'feeling' wrestling too much right now?

Guest The Shadow Behind You Report post Posted December 23, 2004 Okay, Idiot was the wrong choice of words. Better word would be "Missing out". If you like like wrestling; shouldn't you want the BEST out there (Puro is still the best but ROH is americanized)? This isn't a ROH > WWE debate. (which would be the most lopsided debate possible). The important thing here is that we need to complain about how Steamboat should be used more then a Babysitter.
Dark Age 0 Report post Posted December 23, 2004 Funny how you don't want to a ROH/WWE debate, yet make sure to get your little dig in IMMEDIATLEY after saying that. And again, no, people aren't neccesserily missing out. Like I said, some folks might not want to watch much wrestling right now. They might have tried ROH, but decided they don't like it. They may think it's overrated. I know plenty of people who don't care for Ring Of Honour. Just saying it's the best doesn't make it so. And, before you reply with the obvious, I haven't ONCE stated I'm anti-ROH. Back on topic..... Steamboat and London together = teh goodness~! Plus it'll get London on SmackDown, which works for me. Guest The Shadow Behind You Report post Posted December 23, 2004 Yes. His name is Paul London. He likes to keep his true idenity a secrect. How old is now anyways? He was 2-3ish in 1989 so he has to be High School now. Someone should find this out if he even wrestles. We know Reid is a state champion wrestler and has trained with Benjamin (that'd be a GREAT sub story to the HHH W/Flair Vs Benjamin W/Steamboat angle).
