Guest Failed Mascot Report post Posted December 26, 2004 Got an X-Box for Christmas and I'm trying to think of what I'm going to get. I beat Knights of the Old Republic when my father owned it, so I'm not going to get that until later down the road when I wanna play it for nostalgia. Fable still costs too much for my liking and I played most of it when my father owned it. Right now my list looks like Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, Morrowind: Game of the Year Edition, and if I like the first Prince of Persia then once the second one drops down in price for a used copy I'll pick that up. The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted December 26, 2004 The games that I like to play (most of which are no olonger 50 bucks too): Crimson Skies Ninja Gaiden Project Gotham 2 Beyond Good and Evil Halo & Halo 2 KOTOR & KOTOR 2 Chronicles of Riddick and...of course...the first Buffy the Vampire Slayer game. Rocks I'm telling you...rocks.
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted December 26, 2004 Cheap plug: I've got a used copy of Fable if anyone wants it in my half.com store. I'll be willing to negotiate the price for anyone on here.
Guest JebusNassedar Report post Posted December 27, 2004 The best games on X-Box are Sega made. Jet Set Radio Future, Otogi 1/2, and Panzer Dragoon ORTA are great. Outrun is good for nostalgia. But, I'll tell you what. If you actually buy PoP2, you will deserve everything you get.
MrRant 0 Report post Posted December 27, 2004 The Midway Arcade Treasures 1 and 2 are good and only $20. MechAssault is also $19.99 as well as Soul Calibur 2.

But, I'll tell you what. If you actually buy PoP2, you will deserve everything you get. The gameplay (at least for platforming) in PoP2 is good, despite the excessive fighting, some bad music, bad story, the "darker" and "more mature" (my ass) tone. Earlier reviews nearly convinced me to pass on it completely. A rental confirmed a lot of my fears, but they couldn't ruin it completely, try as they might. However, it's loaded with gamebreaking bugs that could end up messing up your save file. Hopefully they fix that. However, Sands of Time didn't go Greatest Hits so I don't have much faith in Warrior Within getting a bug-fixed rerelease. Ninja Gaiden is a fine game, but if you don't look forwards to a lot of combat in your platformers, I'd perhaps rent it first.
Red Baron 0 Report post Posted December 27, 2004 I'd stay away from Panzer Dragoon Orta, unless you find it really cheap. Just rent the game instead. If into sport games, I highly recommend this years titles from ESPN, since all of them are great.

My suggestion: Buy the Tom Clancy's "Best Of " Compilation pack. It has Splinter Cell, Ghost Recon, and Rainbow Six 3 on it. The Tom Clancy games are some of the best X-Box games there are. Red Baron 0 Report post Posted December 27, 2004 Ghost Reacon is fun, but the AI are dumb as bricks to snipeshooters, (there's no middle ground). Though the lack of quality kits in Ghost Reacon suck.
LivingLegendGaryColeman 0 Report post Posted December 27, 2004 I just bought a bunch of games for my new X-box and I have been hooked on Star Wars Battlefront. It is on all platforms, but I just wanted to play for a few minutes and ended up playing around two hours. It is on sale at Target this week for $37 and if they don't have it, they give you a rain check, which is good for about two months.

Heard its alot like MGS though with a more serious tone.

Guest Failed Mascot Report post Posted December 27, 2004 As soon as a copy of the first Splinter Cell comes in they're gonna call me. They had 2 copies but both looked as if they had been used as frisbees and coffee coasters from the amount of scratches.
Guest Jimmy Saint Report post Posted December 28, 2004 Get Xbox live. Then get Halo 2, Ghost Recon, Crimson Skies, Project Gotham Racing and Streetfighter 3 [the latter is'nt out in the states yet but will be soon and imo is the best thing on live].
Guest Failed Mascot Report post Posted December 28, 2004 My father just gave me his copy of Morrowind. Not Game of the Year edition, but hell...it was free.

AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted December 28, 2004 Sands of Time didn't go Greatest Hits Yes it did. Strange--I never, ever saw a GH copy, new or used, anywhere around where I live, and even when I was in New York. *shrug*
Jobber of the Week 0 Report post Posted December 28, 2004 I beat Knights of the Old Republic when my father owned it, so I'm not going to get that until later down the road when I wanna play it for nostalgia. Nostalgia? Knights II was just released. I don't understand people who say that the new Prince of Persia game somehow ruins the series. It was used and abused far worse than this as a Broderbund property.

I was in the Pittsburgh area today, and I did see the X-Box one as a Plat hit, but nothing as far as a GH version for PS2. I think X-Box's requirements for Plat hit are a lot lower than for a PS2 GH though. However, even if a game goes GH it may not have bug fixes--ie, I have a GH Ratchet and Clank that has a (harmless) bug that makes you appear underwater even when you aren't sometimes when you exit pools.
