kkktookmybabyaway Posted December 31, 2004 Author Report Posted December 31, 2004 There's no way I can make the playoffs, is there? No. The NFC playoff teams are set in stone -- Cartman, V-X, Bravesfan, Flik, Vern and Cereb. The only question left for that conference is the seeding. (Last week's thread goes into detail about this -- it's toward the end of the thread...) Now the AFC on the other hand...
kkktookmybabyaway Posted December 31, 2004 Author Report Posted December 31, 2004 I don't think so. I didn't "officially" end the seasons of the 7-8 AFC teams, because I'm not spending time trying to figure out the fate of those teams. For starters, you'd have to hope that Pit, NE, Ind, Ten and Oak all lose, which probably isn't going to happen. Then you'd have to win the regular-season tiebreakers with not only them, but also any other 7-8 AFC team that happens to win this week. This is why I didn't bother calculating the playoff fortunes of you. Hope I didn't hurt your feelings. EDIT: Also I'm haven't dabbled in the playoff seedings yet. I'll just wait until final results are up before finding out who gets a first-week bye. In the NFC Flik and V-X are the top two seeds -- V-X has a better conference record than Vern, in case a tie-breaker is needed. In the AFC it could probably go a number of ways, and I'll just wait until the dust is settled before making an announcement. Here's a tip though for all AFC division leaders -- win...
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted December 31, 2004 Report Posted December 31, 2004 I'm not a wimp. I can take it like a man. Truth be told, I dug this grave myself, picking poorly the last month or so. If my season is over after this Sunday, then cool. I enjoyed the ride and will look forward to next year if you continue it.
kkktookmybabyaway Posted December 31, 2004 Author Report Posted December 31, 2004 Well, I just looked at your schedule, and you lost to Oakland twice and Indy once in the regular season, so you're out of the playoff picture already. And losing your last four games (one of which was via EP) didn't help your playoff hopes...
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted December 31, 2004 Report Posted December 31, 2004 And losing your last four games (one of which was via EP) didn't help your playoff hopes... Well I was on vacation the last two weeks, but stupidly thought I could still submit my picks. I was able to Week 15, but couldn't Week 16. I apologize. Considering though, that I am pretty reliable about submitting my picks with no missing info or missing tiebreakers prior to last week...
fazzle Posted December 31, 2004 Report Posted December 31, 2004 Philadelphia Cleveland Tennessee Chicago Baltimore Minnesota Carolina St. Louis Buffalo New England Seattle Tampa Bay Indianapolis Jacksonville San Diego Dallas Carolina scores 29 points.
CanadianChris Posted January 1, 2005 Report Posted January 1, 2005 Seedings for the AFC division winners are fairly simple: The HOU/CLE winner is #1, as Cleveland holds tiebreakers over all other clubs, regardless of whether there are 2, 3 or 4 tied teams at 10-6. The loser is #2 if DEN and BUF both lose, #4 if DEN and BUF both win, and #3 otherwise. Denver is #2 with a win, as they hold the tiebreaker over Houston (better conference record) but not over Cleveland (worse record vs. common opponents). They are #3 with a loss and a BUF loss, and #4 otherwise. Buffalo is #2 with a win and a DEN loss, as they would hold the tiebreaker over Houston if those two teams end up tied (better conference record). A win, a DEN win and a CLE loss would put them at #3, as Denver holds the tiebreaker over Buffalo (better conference record). Any other combination of results puts Buffalo at #4. The wild cards...I have NO idea.
kkktookmybabyaway Posted January 1, 2005 Author Report Posted January 1, 2005 I was able to Week 15, but couldn't Week 16. I apologize. No need to -- that's why I instituted those emergency picks. Now if you would have missed 5 weeks' worth of picks that would be another story in regards to your ability to keeping your franchise for next year's contest...

kkktookmybabyaway Posted January 2, 2005 Author Report Posted January 2, 2005 Deadline has come and gone...
Vern Gagne Posted January 2, 2005 Report Posted January 2, 2005 Looking ahead to the playoffs. It would seem like it's really anyone's for the taking. There's only 4 games and tiebreakers may very well determine the winner. Of course, Gert T. had the best record and won last year, so who knows.
Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Posted January 2, 2005 Report Posted January 2, 2005 Bravesfan should be shot for making such stupid fucking picks. I'll never forgive you for being so stupid.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted January 2, 2005 Report Posted January 2, 2005 At least I swept a divisional rival... and finished 8-8.
Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Posted January 3, 2005 Report Posted January 3, 2005 Bravesfan should be fucking banned for using his EP. Fuck. And he's in the playoffs. fucking fuck.
sfaJack Posted January 3, 2005 Report Posted January 3, 2005 I hate the fucking Seahawks. Just stop somebody ONE goddamn time in the fourth quarter, would you?
CanadianChris Posted January 3, 2005 Report Posted January 3, 2005 We're a Jaguars or Giants win away from that 4-way tie at 10-6 in the AFC.
Bored Posted January 3, 2005 Report Posted January 3, 2005 I hate the fucking Seahawks. Just stop somebody ONE goddamn time in the fourth quarter, would you? It didn't end up mattering, you won. No bye for me.
Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Posted January 3, 2005 Report Posted January 3, 2005 Honestly, Bravesfan is a worthless piece of shit. I would be in if he didn't fucking suck so much.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted January 3, 2005 Report Posted January 3, 2005 Honestly, Bravesfan is a worthless piece of shit. I would be in if he didn't fucking suck so much. Why would his sucking matter to your postseason hopes? Isn't he Detroit... which is in the OPPOSITE conference?
CanadianChris Posted January 3, 2005 Report Posted January 3, 2005 Congrats to Chuck Woolery (Tennessee) and nl5xsk1 (New England), who claimed the last two playoff spots.
Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Posted January 3, 2005 Report Posted January 3, 2005 Woolery doesn't have it yet, does he?
Chuck Woolery Posted January 3, 2005 Report Posted January 3, 2005 Alas, no I don't. If Jacksonville makes the stop here and Oakland only gets a field goal, then I clinch.
CanadianChris Posted January 3, 2005 Report Posted January 3, 2005 Nope...thought the Jacksonville game was final. Oakland needs to score a TD for that not to be true.
