The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted December 31, 2004 I'm worrying about the poor guy. He hasn't been the same since That One Game, or maybe the Olympics. Team USA had a humiliating showing, which seems to have been the first blow. The hip surgery couldn't have been too great for him. The Pistons have been treading water, which may be a cause or an effect, perhaps a little of both. And it seems like he's just plain losing it on the sidelines. For someone who is supposed to be the protector of the sport of basketball and one of the best teachers of the game, he's threatening coaches and yelling like a madman. Technical fouls all over the place. It's really out of character. Even on Pardon The Interruption, he told Tony that some days he really just didn't feel like doing his job. Now I think Larry Brown is great, even though I'm a Bulls fan. I respect him for being one of the league's premier coaches alongside Sloan and Popovich, and he just isn't living up to it anymore. Since the Pistons were just as much a .500 team without him as they have been with him, do you think maybe Joe Dumars needs to allow Larry Brown a leave of absence so that he can just get his shit together and try to get as much of his negativity toward the league out of his system? Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted December 31, 2004 With all you just said, it seems like Brown would have been better off retiring after the Finals, like Phil Jackson.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted January 1, 2005 Brown has absolutely nothing left to accomplish in Detroit, and probably in coaching, period. And it shows.
Guest The Shadow Behind You Report post Posted January 1, 2005 Has he won a High School State Championship? I can seriously see Brown leaving the Pistons after the season or even DURING it and taking a year or two off and quietly getting a job at some inner city high school in Chicago and taking a rag tag group of kids to the Illinois state championship. The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted January 1, 2005 I was biting my nails all through Christmas Day's Pistons-Pacers game because I was worried that if there was so much as a flagrant foul, Larry Brown would just yell out a nice big sustained "FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!", and just start beating the shit out of random people. Guest Failed Mascot Report post Posted January 1, 2005 I think he's bored with it now and he also doesn't like what the players in the league today are like.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted January 1, 2005 Has anyone ever played franchise mode on a video game, won a title the first season, and lost interest? Maybe that's how Larry Brown feels.
The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted January 1, 2005 Have you ever played franchise mode on a video game and an unprecedented riot broke out in the stands? No? Yeah me neither. Get on that, EA, you could afford to spice up the ol' engine, ya know.
Guest The Shadow Behind You Report post Posted January 1, 2005 I don't see Rick Carlise throwing tantrums. Shit, HIS team was the one suffering the brunt of the damage. The pistons got a little slap on the wrist compared to them.
The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted January 1, 2005 Rick Carlisle isn't defending the world championship in poor fashion, and didn't coach Team USA to a bronze medal, either
Steviekick 0 Report post Posted January 1, 2005 Aside from the brawl and the Olympics, I think the biggest thing that's bothering Brown is the way the Pistons are playing. Last year, they played hard and were intense. This year they just seem to be going through the motions.

The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted January 2, 2005 Of course Larry does. Why do you think he needed a new hip? Something happened in which Bobby Eaton freaked out and left, but Robert Gibson stayed and watched.
