Michrome Posted April 26, 2005 Report Posted April 26, 2005 He was wrong about Audrey's husband being part of the plot.
starvenger Posted April 26, 2005 Report Posted April 26, 2005 He was wrong about Audrey's husband being part of the plot. Yes, and as a result, Paul got shot and is paralyzed. Might be a lesson to be learned there...
packwingfn Posted April 26, 2005 Report Posted April 26, 2005 I think thats gonna be my answer to every question I get asked now "I work with computers" Thanks Chloe
starvenger Posted April 26, 2005 Report Posted April 26, 2005 You mean you don't do that now? I always use that line. Great way to get people to stop asking you questions, actually.
areacode212 Posted April 26, 2005 Report Posted April 26, 2005 Lots of IT people use that line...that's what made it so great. It's the all-purpose "leave me alone and stop asking me questions that have nothing to do with my job" line, even when you're being shot at. Anyway, Chloe has been my favorite character on this show since last season, so it was awesome to see her to finally get her moment, complete with dramatic music. She even got the last camera shot of the episode. Nice!
Toshiaki Koala Posted April 26, 2005 Report Posted April 26, 2005 Logan reminds me of an odd merging of Nixon and Mr. Bean for some reason. Plus Snitsky for the "It's not my fault" comment... I almost made a reference to Snitsky when I heard that line, but nobody in the room would have understood it. On a somewhat related note, does anybody else think of Bull Buchanan whenever Bill Buchanan's name is mentioned? I know I do. Hmmm... perhaps the seemingly-incompetent VP is actually the head of the terrorist conspiracy. I mean, it's a given that evil white people are behind it as usual, and with what's happened so far in this season I wouldn't put it past them...
packwingfn Posted April 27, 2005 Report Posted April 27, 2005 I dunno if hes behind it or not but its good to have the white house more involved compared to the beginning of the season when we barely saw keeler. And I'm not an IT person yet, Taking it up in college though.
Guest OSIcon Posted April 27, 2005 Report Posted April 27, 2005 I don't think he is involved and I don't think he is necesarily incompetent. While I'd like to think that the Vice President would be able to smoothly assume control in the middle of a crisis like that and make all the right decisions, it is easier said than done. He was thrust into a position (the Presidency) out of nowhere and probably noever even expected to be in that position. Not only that, but he then has to immediately deal with a ptential terrorist attack involving a nuclear warhead, as well as deal with all the stuff that happened earlier in the day. I think most normal people would stumble a few times having all of that thrust onto their plate unexpectedly. Like I said before, I really like this character.
packwingfn Posted May 3, 2005 Report Posted May 3, 2005 oh my god that was the most emotional scene of 24 in a long time. i defnitely cried.
Edwin MacPhisto Posted May 3, 2005 Report Posted May 3, 2005 ...Whoa. The writers always surprise. That was an episode of 24 pretty much unlike anything they've done before. What fantastic scripting to run those stories parallel and then have the nuts to go with it. Whoa.
BigPoppaKev Posted May 3, 2005 Report Posted May 3, 2005 Awesome episode. Just awesome. I don't know if I can wait another week to see next weeks episode. I want the rest of the season right now. By the way, Jack Bauer is the fucking man.
mike546 Posted May 3, 2005 Report Posted May 3, 2005 Damnit, they always have to kill the characters I like. Damn.
Guest OSIcon Posted May 3, 2005 Report Posted May 3, 2005 Great episode. This season has been so good. The scene in the operating room at CTU was great. Jack is going to be such an emotional mess after the day is done. I don't know how they'll be able to have him carry on for the next season.
packwingfn Posted May 3, 2005 Report Posted May 3, 2005 Took me awhile to recover from that ending. Yes Yes I suck. World War III? Very good twist.
Mik Posted May 3, 2005 Report Posted May 3, 2005 Nuts. The drama was certainly there, but the emotion wasn't for me. Paul wasn't on for at least a month or more and I kinda expected him to die before Jack even came back from the consolate. Audrey's outburst was certainly impressive, though. There were two other great scenes: Michelle and Tony after the phone call AND Edgar and Chloe talking about how maybe she would be shocked in a few days... and she replied, "Yeah, I hope so." It was exactly how I would imagine two people who have no clue about killing talking about it. Well acted on both ends. I guess I was wrong about Jack never messing up.
chirs3 Posted May 3, 2005 Report Posted May 3, 2005 (edited) I was just about ready to write that episode off as "good but not great", but OH MY GOD that awesome ending saved it. That was some goddamn great TV. Edited May 3, 2005 by chirs3
Guest Fook Posted May 3, 2005 Report Posted May 3, 2005 There's no way Audrey's not leaving Jack after this. I had my doubts she'd stick with him when Paul was first shot. This now confirms it.
Guest T®ITEC Posted May 3, 2005 Report Posted May 3, 2005 oh my god that was the most emotional scene of 24 in a long time. i defnitely cried. See, why'd you have to go and say that? Now I feel bad. I laughed my ass off. I mean, come on. Pointing a gun at the doctor, then grabbing the paddles and acting like he can do something. Then not wanting to give up on the chest compressions and standing there like some little kid that just got caught doing something very, very bad... Ah, whatever, I guess it's just me. I haven't laughed that hard in a while.
packwingfn Posted May 3, 2005 Report Posted May 3, 2005 Nuts. The drama was certainly there, but the emotion wasn't for me. Paul wasn't on for at least a month or more and I kinda expected him to die before Jack even came back from the consolate. It wasn't really the drama of Paul dying but HOW he died! and Audry's reaction to it, and Jack trying to save his life after he know he screwed up. Then Curtis telling him to stop. I dont normally get that emotional
starvenger Posted May 3, 2005 Report Posted May 3, 2005 There's no way Audrey's not leaving Jack after this. I had my doubts she'd stick with him when Paul was first shot. This now confirms it. Yeah, I kinda think that she's gone now. Whether she leaves on her own or in a bodybag though, we've yet to see.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted May 3, 2005 Report Posted May 3, 2005 I dont think even Jack Bauer could fight off the Chinese army by himself.
Vern Gagne Posted May 3, 2005 Report Posted May 3, 2005 President Palmer? When and how did this happen?
starvenger Posted May 3, 2005 Report Posted May 3, 2005 President Palmer? If you're an ex-President, "President" becomes an honourary, so he's President Palmer for the rest of his life...
Vern Gagne Posted May 4, 2005 Report Posted May 4, 2005 I know that, but the part I saw he was negoiating with someone in the Chinese gov't, like he was the acting President.
Edwin MacPhisto Posted May 4, 2005 Report Posted May 4, 2005 The current President, President Logan, isn't doing so well with his new responsibilities after the Air Force One crash. He ordered Jack to be arrested in the middle of the seizure of Marwan, and Marwan got away. Mike Novick recommended he bring in Palmer to help, and now Palmer is working with the President's authority.
Chazz Posted May 4, 2005 Report Posted May 4, 2005 I was just about ready to write that episode off as "good but not great", but OH MY GOD that awesome ending saved it. That was some goddamn great TV. My thoughts exactly. The ending definatley made this hour. And I thought The Hour In which Edgar's Mother commited Suicide to avoid a radioactive death was sad, as was Driscoll's reaction to her Mentally Ill Daughter commiting suicide Inside CTU's clinic. This beat them all. Sadly, I fear the worse Is yet to come. Speaking of CTU's Medical Staff, I think Paul should've been flown to a real ER right after he was shot. That Is what did him In, not Jack.
packwingfn Posted May 10, 2005 Report Posted May 10, 2005 Jack's reaction to Chloe saying "If you need anyone to talk too, I'm here" was gold.
