Now the Broncos need to win tommorow so the Jets can come to Foxboro and get killed.

Jets coming to Foxboro next week! Weeeeeeeeeee!

If Plummer can pull--BWAHAHHA I can't even say that with a straight face.

Maybe Peyton Manning, Edge, Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne and Brandon Stockley will all catch a serious case of the flu tonight.

You never know...it could happen.

Well, the Chargers did more than I ever expected them to do this year. For the first time in a long time, I actually have real hope for next year. They get two first round pick and have a lot of cap room.

As for the Game, it is what it was. I won't complain about Schottenheimer or how the play calling resembled last years Chargers instead of this years Chargers. The Jets made more plays and got the win.

I hope the Colts lose tommorow and will be looking forward to next years game against Eli Manning and the Giants.

I hate to say it because he was just named Coach of the Year earlier today, but I blame that loss entirely on Marty. And I don't care about any of the earlier stuff like the penalty, but his play calling on his teams last drive was retarded. You have a rookie kicker and the field is wet and sloppy and you run three straight times forcing your rookie kicker to try and make a 40 yard FG? How's about we try a few short passes just to attempt to make it a little shorter, or who knows maybe even pick up a first down and make it a lot shorter, or hell maybe even get a TD? Marty had better not get too comfy either, because after that fiasco his job may be back in jeopardy. I doubt it, but I wouldn't sleep easy tonight if I were him.

Yeah after winning Coach of the Year his job is definitely in jeopardy, way to be melodramatic.

The problem on that last series was that LT was forced to the outside. Had he kept it in the middle the kick would have been good. The length wasn't a problem, so I don't even know why you're suggesting that they should have made a few passing plays, it would be wrong whether in hindsight or foresight.

But yeah, whoever forced LT to the outside with a tackle is the unsung hero of that game, had he knelt the ball in the middle, or not run any plays at all since it was already in the middle, they would have been fine. Schotty made poor calls, but they would have been even worse had he followed your advice. The backlash would have been huge especially if it was picked off, and rightfully so. Run the ball, but NOT TO THE OUTSIDE.

Damn Jets. Oh well, the chargers did one hell of a job this season. I have a bad feeling this might be a one season fluke, but kudos to the 2004 San Diego Chargers for doing great, and hopefully that draft pick from the giants goes to good use.

You are nuts. A 40 yard FG is not a gimme FG, so to go into ultra-conservative mode and just resign yourself to having your rookie kicker kick from there is a dumb idea. And as for your assertion that I'm crazy and every other coach would have just ran the ball three times and attempted a 40 yard FG in that same situation is bullshit. I've never seen a coach looking at a potential 40+ yard FG to win or tie a game run three staright plays unless the first two had actually gotten some yards and the third down was like 3rd and 2. Every other coach would have at least on 3rd and 10 thrown a quick maybe 5 yard pass knowing that the DBs would be playing off since it is a 3rd and long situation, and let the receiver either pick up 7 or 8 yards to make it an easier FG or possibly make a play and get a first down. It was dumb play calling and Marty just resorted to his old self and played Marty ball after a season where breaking from his old conservative ways got him coach of the year honors.

Who knows, maybe Kaeding wanted in on the right. Actually, if you looked at it, it seemed like the hold was just a little bit off, angling the ball enough to the right for the kick to miss.

Either way, I'm just happy it happened. That roughing the passer penalty was about the most sickening feeling you can get, but the feeling after the missed kick was just as strong in the opposite direction.

This is exactly what I was going to say. Good point, this year's Chargers worked because he opened up the Chargers offense and let them make plays. What does Schottenheimer have against Drew Brees anyways? It seemed the past couple years Brees was being held down because of that Martyball shit, and SURPRISE! They break away from it and they become the SUPERCHARGERS~!

They sure as hell didn't look very super today. I hope the Jets enjoy getting mauled by whoever they play next week. Whoever it is, it won't be pretty. I think they won because they matched up particularly well against San Diego, and SD was one of the few teams I believe could have had success against the top three.

I think as far back as three weeks ago I said that if the Jets played SD in the playoffs that the Jets would win, and now I feel vindicated.

Don't trust Rottenheimer in the playoffs, plain and simple.

As a Cleveland fan I know your pain with having to deal with Marty's shitty playoff performances.

Gah, like 2 people out of 1,000,000 picked the Jets to win.

For the first time this season, the Jets played with a pass first offense, and it proved to win the game at the end. No more 3rd down and 8 HB Draws, no more running on the first two downs, just let Pennington do his thing, and mix a little Martin/Jordan.

70% of the people thought the Jets would get killed last night, 15% thought they weren't going to get killed but lose, but they still pulled out the upset.

The Steelers are going to face a team that played them tough before opening up their offense, a team that lost to them so the revenge factor will be in play, they have a streak to maintain, and they are the heavy favorites. No pressure on the Jets, they just have to keep throwing the ball and surprise people next week.

Also, Barton, had a great year, but that was the stupidest fucking move in the history of western civilization. Luckily we managed to pull it out anyway.

Has an NFL game ever gone into double OT?

last year. Rams/Panthers.

1971 playoff game between KC & Miami went to double OT. Miami won on a FG about 1/2 way through the 2nd OT period. Game time: 82 minutes, 40 seconds.

You and I man...You and I.

I was literally praying last night when the Chargers field goal attempt went down in the overtime period. It was such an emotional rollercoaster ride...but when they missed.....damn. It's kinda unexplainable.

I pick the Jets next week. They lost to the Steelers 13-7. That is true. But they hung in there. They never stopped fighting.

That's why I've been, and always will be, a Jets fan.
