JoeDirt Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 Anyone else surprised they blew off Kane/Snitsky clean? What next for those guys?
Exslade ZX Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 Yes, I took out the word huge. Because fact is, no one is 'over huge' anymore. (not even guys like Jericho or RVD..they're reactions aren't really considered huge) But, fact is, wrestling is in a different era now, no one is getting/going to get Rock, or Austin at their peak reactions. At least not for a while. Most of you just grade crowd reaction to harshly, unless of course, you like the person. Then even a few people clapping, is grounds for them getting a push. And is louder then anything *insert random smark hated wrestler* ever gets. FACT: Batista gets more cheers than Orton. That's the only thing that matters. And it is a problem if Orton is designated as the next big thing. Orton will always get a pop for the RKO. DDP always got a huge pop for the diamond cutter, too. But the fans aren't latching onto the guy. That's pretty obvious. I'm not here saying they should push Benoit back to the top or something, because they shouldn't. I'm just saying that Orton shouldn't be a face. He'll get screams from the girls who think he's handsome, but he will never be over bigtime as a babyface. (unless his character changes completely or something) No, I actually agree, I enjoy Orton much more as a heel. But, just saying. It's not that he's doing so terrible as a face in terms of crowd reaction, it's just that...well, crowd reaction isn't that great now anyways. As for the fact, hell, Batista's getting a bigger reaction then everyone. he got cheered...for pinning Benoit. Doesnt mean Benoit's doing a bad job as a face though does it? It's just that for once, they're doing a good job with someone, that being Batista. Really, the only person getting a bigger face reaction then Batista recently is...well...Triple H. lmao. (at times)
bob_barron Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 The Elimination Chamber is every man for himself- there's not going to be many alliances. And it seemed like the HHH and Batista stuff was touched on during the match. There were lots of spots using the metal grating and the cage. I'm just dissapointed there was no glass breaking
Myxamatosis Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 I'm just dissapointed there was no glass breaking I agree. I guessed I'm just used to Smackdown Vs. Raw where I'm constantly throwing Orton into the Chamber glass.
Angle-plex Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 I take JBL reign over HHH's anyday and twice on Sunday. You'd take bumbling idiot honky tonk man Bradshaw's title reign over a title reign by a guy that's booked to be 2x better than the entire roster?
Guest LooneyTune Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 Anyone else surprised they blew off Kane/Snitsky clean? What next for those guys? If anyone thought Kane wasn't going over clean tonight, they need to be slapped across the face with a dildo. It was more obvious than Hunter winning the Chamber. Any other result would make zero sense (well, most show overall made zero sense, but thats not the point).

Silly, if you question the goofball, glorified-midcarder, pussbag JBL reign you're a smarkmark h83r!!! (Not saying sluggo thinks that, but there are some...) I'd rather not have either.
SuperJerk Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 I don't know why everyone's complaining. This is easily the best PPV of the year.

I expected the feud to continue until WM I guess. Wait did I just type that?
Myxamatosis Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 What the hell is HHH's character anyway? He doesn't even have a gimmick. Unless "pompous douchebag" counts as a gimmick, I'm not too sure.
SuperJerk Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 Who is this JBL you all keep talking about? As far as I'm concerned, there is no Smackdown.
Lil' Bitch Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 The JBL character is entertaining. The HHH character is not. Also JBL is a breath of fresh air in comparison to Gonzo's tyranny.
JoeDirt Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 I'd be really interested to see what the WWE would do if HHH tore his ACL sometime in the next few months and they had to go without him.

Guest Catcher8C Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 HHH's matches are usually built around keeping him safe, so that is doubtful... The closest thing he's taken to a dangerous bump has been a powerbomb through a table by Nash....and that was in 2003.
Guest combat_rock Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 I'd be really interested to see what the WWE would do if HHH tore his ACL sometime in the next few months and they had to go without him. They'd purposefully sabotage their own shows so that they won't have to admit they were better of without him dominating the show?

I am not kidding.
Guest The Shadow Behind You Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 They'd bring Angle over to stop the "bleeding" and not even bother to compentate sd.
Tawren Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 At the end of the PPV, all I said was this: "fuckin HHH". Jesus. That was the absolute saddest thing I have ever seen. I'd say "I can't believe they were dumb enough to give HHH the title back", but obviously they are. I'm not even that mad. Just apathetic. I've even lost the will to hate HHH by his squashing of every remotely entertaining thing in the WWE.

The Niggardly King Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 I expected this one to suck. But not so badily that I hear the best thing about this event was a Maven promo.
CanadianChick Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 So is there going to be a three-way feud between Orton/Batista/HHH? Because with that ending, I have no idea what else they'd build for. I saw the writing on the wall when Edge was the first one eliminated. I'm actually surprised that they didn't save that until later, like the third elimination. Good bumping by everybody tonight, with the exception of the monster and the guy who was in the match for less than 10 minutes. So, what the hell do you suppose will happen at WM now?
Myxamatosis Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 I'm worried about what Jericho will do for WM. I mean he nearly killed himself carrying the match tonight. Possible feuds: Benoit? Seems like the obvious one. I'd like to see it without a heel turn though. Christian? God no! Benjamin? Maven? IC Title mix? Most likley, but that would be very dissapointing.
Lil' Bitch Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 Well I did enjoy the first match up until Eugene got injured. I hate the Eugene gimmick, but I wish Nick Dinsmore a speedy recovery.
Guest Fook_Theta Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 Benoit needs to turn heel and be pushed to the moon. Benoit could please the real demographic of WWE(28-48 year olds) by being the pissed off veteran always getting held down by somebody that kisses ass. Sounds like another breakout star during the Attitude Era...
RavishingRickRudo Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 Benoit is more over as a face. Why can't people get this?
Kahran Ramsus Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 Jericho is the one who is better as a heel. Benoit is better as a face.
Exslade ZX Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 I mean he nearly killed himself carrying the match tonight. Lol.
CanadianChick Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 I'd like to see heel Jericho vs. face Benoit. When they had that year long feud in 2000, it was vice versa. Wonder if the match quality would be the same, better or worse.
