therealworldschampion Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 January 15th: New York Jets at Pittsburgh Steelers St.Louis Rams at Atlanta Falcons January 16th: Minnesota Vikings at Philadelphia Eagles Indianapolis Colts at New England Patriots Predict and discuss....
smh810 Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 Well considering I was 1-3 this week dont take these to the bank but here goes: Pittsburgh, Atlanta, Philly, Indy
Guest Failed Mascot Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 Jets, Falcons, Vikings, Pats I think the Philli offense will be dead without TO.
therealworldschampion Posted January 10, 2005 Author Report Posted January 10, 2005 Steelers, Rams(get their game indoors and on turf where they're most dangerous), Eagles(I think the Vikings might have put a little too much into winning the game at Lambeau), Pats(Belichick is in Manning's head)
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 Steelers easily defeat New York. Colts squeak by Patriots. Eagles defeat Vikings by double digits. Falcons defeat Rams by double digits.
Your Paragon of Virtue Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 Steelers Rams Vikings Pats I want all of these teams to win except for the Pats. Has there ever been a game where the five and six seeds have played each other in the Conference Finals(The only mathetmatically possible way for them to play each other)? I think it could happen, the Rams are indoors and the Vikes are on a roll, plus the Falcons suck and the Eagles have no offense when they have no T.O. Should he be there, I think they could make the Super Bowl competitive, as it stands, they won't even be there. I hate Jim Mora Jr. So very, very much.
Bored Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 I have a sick temptation to want to see a Rams/Vikings NFC Championship just to ensure we will get the worst team ever to make it to a Super Bowl.
Cuban Linx Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 Steelers, Falcons, Eagles, Pats Ditto. Though for my own amusement i'd like to see the Vikings and Rams win to get an all 8-8 conference title game.
The Man in Blak Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 Steelers, Colts, Vikings, Rams
Guest Failed Mascot Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 Alf's happiness will once again be ended in Foxboro.
the pinjockey Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 Steelers - Not much explanation needed here. Best team in the league right now and the Jets do not have enough on offense to move the ball consistently on the Pitt. defense. Colts - With Law out, I do not think the Pats defense will be able to hold the Colts to less than 28 points and that should be enough to win. Falcons - I do not think much of Michael Vick, but I think even less of the Rams. The Falcons front seven should get good pressure and force Bulger into at least 3 picks. Eagles - In regards to the no TO means no offense arguement, the Eagles averaged 28 points a game in the last 10 games before Westbrook go hurt last season. The Vikings defense is terrible (sorry if taking advantage of Favre passing out INTs like candy doesn't impress me) and the Eagles have a heavy advantage in special teams.
NYU Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 Jets are going to be able to get past the Steelers. Colts will beat the Patriots - the loss of Ty Law will prove to be a little too much against Indianapolis. Eagles will beat the Vikings by double digits Rams will go over the Falcons
Guest Failed Mascot Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 Colts will beat the Patriots - the loss of Ty Law will prove to be a little too much against Indianapolis. That's it. We are soooooo breaking up now.
Myxamatosis Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 Jets in a classic game. Colts over the Patriots (finally!). Rams easily over the Falcons. Eagles squeak by the Vikings.
Slayer Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 Jets expose the Steelers Patriots expose the Colts (again) Randy Moss exposes himself Vikings beat the Eagles thanks to Eagles' home-field disadvantage Falcons over Rams, setting up 1998 rematch
Your Paragon of Virtue Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 A lot of hating on the Steelers in this thread. What exactly do they have that can be exposed? Their great receivers, O-line, running backs, or quarterback? Or one of the best defenses in the league? One of the coaching stalwarts in Bill Cowher? I don't see much to expose. I was thinking the game was gonna be close, but I see the Steelers making this less of a game the more I think about it. They'll have a field day with the Jets offense.
Slayer Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 One of the coaching stalwarts in Bill Cowher Hahaha Cowher is one step below Rottenheimer on the coaching choke ladder
Kahran Ramsus Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 One of the coaching stalwarts in Bill Cowher Hahaha Cowher is one step below Rottenheimer on the coaching choke ladder Cowher has made the Super Bowl. Marty hasn't. Unless by below you meant better.
Slayer Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 Yes Cowher has made the SB, but on the other hand he's had HFA three different times in his career and failed to go to the SB. The one year he did go to the SB he had the #2 team in the AFC but benefited from Rottenheimer being himself and going #1 and out in the divisional round.
Kahran Ramsus Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 Where does Jim Mora rank on that ladder?
Guest Failed Mascot Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 Mora is tops in the NFL for sound bytes.
Guest Failed Mascot Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 Also, if the Eagles don't make the SB this year then Andy Reid is going to be high up on that ladder as well. Right now the current biggest playoff choke coaches IMO are... SweatyCrotchenheimmer Cowher Dungy(Gruden won the SB with basically the same team Dungy had all those years where he was tossed out in the first round. Now he hasn't made it past the AFC game with Peyton and co.) Reid Sherman...under him the Lambeau Mystique has died
Slayer Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 Mora isn't really on the choking ladder. Yeah he didn't do much with Peyton and Co, but then again neither has Dungy. Besides, we know whose fault it is anyways ("Aw shucks") On top of that, he led four Saints teams without any real stars to the playoffs, unless you consider Morten Andersen a star. Also, what FS said.
Slayer Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 And just for the fuck of it, I went 3-1 in my WC weekend picks
4hartthreat Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 Wow, after that wacky weekend who knows what will happen.... I think the playoffs have shown just what a joke the NFC truly is this season and if the Saints had made it in like they should have, I'd be picking them to represent it in the SB. But as it stands, I think the what a joke this conference is trend will continue and Vikings over Eagles and Rams over Falcons. On the opposite end of the spectrum, I think the AFC will show just how good it is so Steelers over Jets and Pats over Colts.
